$ 6 roundtrip from the Lindenwold station to anywhere PATCO stops in Philadelphia? SOLD. The bridge toll is $ 5. Gas is outrageous anymore. PATCO is a steal.
Some creepy people can roam the trains and stations — be alert. But remember it’s part of the experience and ambiance. I always sit near the operator anyway especially during odd hours.
During off-​peak times, they run fewer trains than normal. Check the schedule in advance or their web site for info about delays related to weather or track work.

Big shouts out to the Port Authority Transit Corporation or PATCO (slang: «Da High-​speed Line»)! I realized after writing a few Unilocal reviews, that much of my excitement about visiting the many restaurants, spas and other businesses in Philly, especially in Center City, comes from the ease and availability of reaching them. And that ease often begins and ends with taking The High-​speed Line into the city.
With four stops in Phlly and nine in Jersey ending in Lindenwold, where the PATCO headquarters is, this is a cheap (DIRT cheap: a rount-​trip ticket into the city to/​from any stop never costs more than $ 4.90) and easy way to shuffle back and forth from the city without paying that $ 3.00 bridge tax or whatever you’d need to fork over for any of the numerous gangster-​controlled parking attendants to babysit your ride while you eat.
The High-​speed Line ain’t without its flaws, of course. For example, PATCO and the Delaware River Port Authority (PATCOs partner) are in the midst of upgrading the ticketing and payment system, which is a comedy of bureaucracies and test-​case glitches and the train stops don’t exactly make a seamless fit with SEPTA stops unless you’re at 8^th & Market (the middle of everything), but at the end of the day its the best way to travel from one end of Center City to the other, especially if coming originally from South Jersey.
Stations are well-​lit, safe and a train comes — rain or shine, clear or snowy — without fail, every twelve to 15 minutes.
