I have brought watches to G-​K before and they have always done a great job. They are honest and upfront… knowing that not all watches are worth fixing unless there’s personal value. The only bad thing is that they aren’t close to me. Even still, I make the trip because I trust them.

This is the best kept secret around. The business repairs all brands of watches. Cut out the middleman fees (local jeweler) for high-​end watch repair. They guarantee their service for one year. The costs can be a bit high.

I took my son’s Gucci watch in for maintenance and the rep looked over the watch and told me it was working fine and there really wasn’t any need for service on the watch at this time. She told me what to look for in the future that would indicate the watch needed servicing. Wow! Honest business does still exist. Bringing our watches to Glezer-​Kraus for life!

Highly NOT recommended. These guys are crooks. I dropped a watch there because the last battery change un-​waterproofed my watch. So I mentioned that there was some moisture in it at one point. Bad move. They call me later to tell me that I have $ 288. in repairs for movement and replace crystal and battery, etc. There was no way I was paying that. So I went to pick it up. While I wait I hear someone talking on the phone to another upset customer that they misunderstood it wasn’t $ 102 in repairs it was $ 402 and what do they expect for a Gucci watch? And then some more conning…“we have the last bracelet replacement part, should we keep it, do you want it or not?” Meanwhile anyone who brings in their watch for a battery change is told «it might not just be the battery, it might need an overhaul, but we will call you first with the price.» Any way, back to my story. I took my watch back to the guys who only charge $ 10 for battery change and he changed the battery and guess what? It works fine without all that. He said he didn’t see any damage and if anything to replace that movement would be the $ 100 range, not nearly $ 300. So No thank you Glezer. Watch out (no pun intended) and get a second opinion. Also, don’t give them a reason so that they can find something to bill you with. They are NOT HONEST.

I’ve taken my Movado to this location since 2006 for maintenance, repair, and general cleaning… and I live in Champaign! (About 2.5 hours) The shop is extremely friendly, prompt with their responses and service, and will even decline revenue if they deem the repairs unnecessary. I found an old watch, a Citizen, and am taking it to them to guarantee it will be done right! Highly recommend them!

I brought in my husbands Movado watch here after it just randomly stopped working and started showing moisture inside and it was a very easy process. I had initially gone back to Kay where we bough the watch and they told us they would charge us for sending it to movado $ 150 and then to replace the battery $ 100 and then for new parts they didnt know how much it would cost, just sounded ridiculous! This place fixed the issue with the moisture under warranty and then we only paid $ 50 to replace the battery and ever since then it’s worked perfectly.

STAY AWAY-​AS DESCRIBED IN OTHER REVIEWS. I strongly suggest that you never bring anything to this repair shop. After my husband had a really negative experience when the service person accused him of being a liar, I finally contacted the store to get some assistance. I spoke with one of the owners, Lillia, who immediately started the conversation by telling me that she had multiple notes on what transpired during the interaction with my husband. Not a great way to start a conversation with a customer who was trying to get help resolving a difficult situation. Without getting into a lengthly description, the owner also accused us of lying and refused to even focus on our issues. She also abruptly ended the conversation similar to others who have described their interaction on Unilocal.When these other negative reviews were brought up to the owner, she could care less and replied that only people unhappy write reviews and they have been in business for 45 years. Well, needless to say, we got no help with Glezer and I have taken our issue directly to Ebel. I will also tell them that this business should not be an authorized dealer of Ebel since it reflects poorly on them. I strongly suggest not doing business with this company.

i had my groupon purchased movado serviced here. while the woman i dealt with on the phone was helpful, the technician was a little scary but the woman behind the desk who i had spoke with earlier, spoke up and advised her it was covered by warranty per movado. the tech then explained to me the process and i asked to have my piece mailed back to me. about a week later, as promised, they called to confirm i wanted this mailed back and i received it back via ups. overall, easy, despite my initial worries.

I brought in a pair of watches for repair. On one of the watches, I told them it wasn’t running and the band needed repairs. I was told by the receptionist I would receive a call in the next day or two with an estimate on the repairs. Ten days later, I had to initiate a phone call to check on the status of my repairs. There was no apology for not reaching out to me to give me my estimate. After we agreed to the repairs, my credit card was automatically charged before work had actually been started. They also said they would call within a week to keep me posted on the repairs. Another two weeks later, I again had to initiate contact to check on the status of the repairs. They were waiting on parts so they did not call to give us any information. When I finally got my watches back, I noticed the one watch had a fixed band, but it still did not work. When I called to ask why the watch had not been fixed, I was greeted with hostility because it had not been in the estimate (I was also transferred to two different supervisors). When they read me the description of the watch when it was brought in, it said, «Watch not running, & bracelet repair.» They never thought it necessary to actually make the watch work.
Long story short, I left very unsatisfied with my experience. I took the watch to one of their competitors and had it fixed in less than five minutes. No paperwork needed. No need to call several days after I was told they would call me. No getting transferred to other supervisors. If you have the choice, choose somewhere else to go.
One star was given because they did manage to fix the band on the watch (Even though it seemed silly to me to have a band fixed on a watch that didn’t work!)

I have a Movado watch that needed a new battery. Apparently this is the only place in the midwest that is ‘certified’ to work on Movado’s. I call beforehand and ask if I can wait for my watch to have the battery replaced when I come and was told yes. Took the day off work and drove up here and was told I needed to leave it there. Fine. Received a call a day or two later saying I should have a few other things fixed as well to the sum of $ 200 ish. Fine. Picked up my watch a week or so later and it works fine. Great.
Then a few days later I walk to the train and its raining out. I get to my office, look down at my watch and its full of water and no longer moving! So I call the office a couple days later and ask how long they warranty there work, comes out to be a year. Great. Me being my lazy self begin wearing another watch and put my Movado in the jewelry box.
Then I pick it up one day and want to wear it. So I call them up and tell them what happened and they tell me to bring it in or send it with the receipt. So I spend a few weeks and realize that I no longer have the receipt. I call the company and am told that I cant do anything without the receipt as they dont keep digital copies. DangSo I’m stuck with a watch they broke, that may or may not be fixable, after I spent 200 bucks to get it fixed.

They took great care of my Gucci watch! I reccommend this place to care for your watches.

STAY AWAY from here at all costs! I opted to try this place since it was an authorized Gucci repair center. My watch worked fine but was scratched from years of wear. I bought a new crystal and case online and brought it in to have it replaced. I wanted to replace the bangle bracelet as well but couldn’t get the part myself online in the right color. The jeweler that was selling the bracelets sold them for $ 60 brand new. Glezer-​Kraus charged me $ 45 to buff out the old one but whatever, it would still look new so I agreed to the charge even though it was a rip off. When I explained that I just wanted the case and crystal changed the technician suggested that they do a battery replacement as well as then they wouldn’t charge labor to change the case. They charge $ 36 for a battery change which is absolutely ridiculous but I figured I’d probably have to pay $ 20-​$ 25 to have the case and crystal swapped out somewhere else anyway so I agreed. I picked up my watch, it looked good and I brought it home. I put it on the next day and realized it wasn’t running. WTF?!
I brought it back, the guy who took it in said that because there are electronics involved there could be a short and not to worry because that’s why they warranty the battery change for a year. I was annoyed to have to drive out to Lincolnwood again but was glad to hear they would take care of it. Until I got a call the next day to be told it now needed a movement service that would cost $ 90. So I brought them a perfectly running watch that needed cosmetic repairs, got talked into an overpriced battery change that I didn’t need, and then got a non-​working watch back in return. And then they wanted an additional $ 90 to repair what only they could have broken. Will be filing a case with the BBB as well. Please do not give these jerks your watch or your business because they are certainly not reputable or even capable based on my experience. I concede one star because the buffed out bracelet looked good.
