I just want to say the waitress was wonderful but the food was terrible ., the waitress kept my drinks full and did anything I asked promptly but whoever cooked the food needs a class on how to cook. My meat was so tough I couldn’t hardly bite thru it and the rice smelled funny ! We had a party of 9 and most of us were dissatisfied. If u were rating the waitress Tiffany Jernigan. I would give you 5 stars but the cooks I wouldn’t even give a star !!! This is my 3^rd time trying this place and I haven’t like it either time but I was giving it one more shot but I will never be back unless I know the cooks are educated on how to cook. It taste like microwaved hard food !!!

Heather and Cassie serve cold, refreshing Green Man IPAs. This is the only local establishment that serves Green Man IPA on tap. The food is typically good and you get it quickly.

I’ve been here a few times and have enjoyed it. This time I had the Stacked Chicken and it was great! Lots of crips bacon. Our server is as Tiffany and she was very patient and attentive.

We have continually bad service at homesteads so we no longer eat here.
The food is decent but I wouldn’t recommend stopping here unless you want a server that doesn’t care about you.

There isn’t much to eat in Lincolnton so if you’d like an Applebee’s style dinner without driving to one, stop here.
The gentleman serving us was extremely polite and took great care of us.
The food was okay (nothing special or mind-​blowing). I found chicken gristle in the appetizer. Yuck.
The booth I was in had a loose back and the series of diners sitting behind me kept slamming it into me while I was eating.
Overall… I would only eat here again if I were really really really hungry. The three stars are for the nice staff.

Service and the food was great. The baby back ribs was awesome. This was our first time there and we will definitely go back.

This is an easy one.
Good– Staff. Couldn’t have been nicer. Genuinely friendly rather than fake friendly. Everyone there seemed to actually happy to be working there.
Bad– Food. Awful. Disgusting. Got a trio of friend apps and wings. Onion rings were undercooked and ridiculously overbreaded. Wings tasted like some poorly microwaved store bought stuff with some sauce thrown on after cooking. Had I not been starving probably would have sent the food back. Not trying to be unnecessarily mean but I calls it as I sees it. At least the salad bar looked interesting.
Side note: It occurred to me driving through Lincolnton for the first time that the town could definitely use a chain restaurant. Driving through all I saw was fast food and local places like this. I had hoped to find an Applebees or TGIF. Not that those places are anything special but at least the consistency is there with the experience. Judging by the reviews this place seems like the ultimate «hit or miss».

We stopped here specifically for the buffalo chicken dip as we passed through on the way to Charlotte. The thing that set their dip apart was the fried wontons they served with the dip. Today, we stopped to pick up an order, only to find they now use regular old tortilla chips. It’s now just a run of the mill dip and nothing special. Guess we won’t be detouring by any more since we can get the same thing lots of other places. Too bad.

Well yeah two stars. Bad service, ok food. Well some of the food was ok some not ok. You ever get wings that were broken in half? Well until now I didn’t ever. Then my wings from here showed up. Well my plate of half wings — can’t say that made me too happy. TO be clear, they presented my 6 broken in half wings as a 12 piece servicing… And to finalize it all, I showed the check in half off appetizers from Unilocal before I ordered and got it full price anyway on my bill. I didnt argue the point. I figured if it took ten minutes to get the waiter to come back with the salad bowl, how long would it take to get the manager?

We stopped here for lunch this past Sunday on our way back from Asheville to Charlotte. My husband had a ribeye hamburger and onion rings. He said the onion rings were the best he has ever had. The waitress said that they make them from scratch everyday. He also said the hamburger which was on a fresh ciabatta roll was excellent. I had the club sandwich and although I had to take it apart in order to be able to eat it, it was very good. Three people tried to take our order. The service was excellent and the atmosphere very jovial as two different Sunday football games were on large screen televisions!

Best food, best drinks and most of all the best service in Lincolnton. I have never ordered a dish that wasn’t prepared to perfection. The atmosphere is comfortable and like being with family. You can’t beat the prices for their quality of food. My favorite place of all time.

Similar to Fatz restaurant but much better. The Red Chicken Quesadilla and the Catfish fillet plates are definite winners. Best salad bar in town hands down. Take the family here once a week.

It really depends on what you order. Nice restaurant, nice bar with several TV’s for watching sporting events. Ribs are very good.

We went to Homestead for a late lunch on Sunday afternoon and were seated right away. After our drinks arrived, along with some cold biscuits, it took a bit for our server to come back to take our order. Then after we ordered, it was a looooong wait for our food. In that time our server only came back to the table once — to drop off our appetizer and drink refills (yes we’d already been there long enough to need them) — but he literally just dropped them and kept on going. He never checked back in with us at all. I know there can be many reasons for the kitchen to get backed up, stuff happens, but it would have been nice for our server to check in and acknowledge our wait. Once the food came, it was more than delicious. So there is that.
A woman (manager perhaps) did stop to ask us how our meal was once our food came out and I mentioned that it took a long time to get it… she seemed surprised but offered no explanation or apology.
We saw our server smile for the first time when he dropped off our check. I guess it’s good to be friendly right before your guests fill in that tip line.

Great salad bar and cheese biscuits. My ribeye was extremely thin, though, which meant that as soon as it touched the grill, it was already overcooked beyond my preferred rare, in addition to being cooked very unevenly, and it lacked flavor. I did not care for the cheese fries (low quality cheese and fake bacon), and the shrimp that I ordered along with my steak were pretty overcooked as well. On the upside, the prices were very reasonable. All in all, it’s doubtful we’ll be making the long ride out to Lincolnton again to go here.

Upstate New Yorkers traveling through town on a Sunday night, looking for a nice place to have a non-​fast food dinner, found this place through Unilocal.I had read the previous reviews and we were ready to make up our own minds! Absolutely delicious food, not one complaint. Appetizers: double dip & mozz sticks — perfect. Added salad bar to our dinner — what a selection! And very very fresh. He had the Homestead trio, I had the Caribean Jerk trio, steak had great flavor, shrimp was cooked perfectly. Service was quick & friendly. The young man that waited on us was a joy. There was no long wait to be seated, to be waited on, or waiting for our food. I definitely would recommend this place to anyone.

Fabulous! Awesome service, great variety on menu, fantastic beer list (draft and bottle). Everything about this place is great. Unilocal led us here on a roadtrip and we were so glad to find such a quality restaurant. Enjoyed the frickles and the surf and turf, specially the blackened shrimp. Great value, we did the 2 for $ 32. Highly recommend!

We hadn’t been to Homesteads in a few months precisely because every single time we went we ended up getting poor service, but since several other local restaurants had long wait times on Saturday night we decided to give it one last chance. Unfortunately our streak continued. After waiting a few minutes we were seated in a back booth and promptly ignored for an extended period of time. Service at Homestead is always slow, but this was especially egregious given that at least two parties seated after us received their drinks before we finally got up to get the attention of an employee and let them know that no one had even spoken to us since we had been seated.
One waitress nearby (who called everyone «sweetie») had been chatting with a particular table about her mother for much of that time, but I don’t know that she was responsible for us since someone else I hadn’t seen finally ended up being our server. As far as I can tell, one problem appears to be lack of organization because several different people shuttled up to the front desk to take names of incoming guests, while a person later identified as a hostess (who is finally the one who helped us) was busing tables. There didn’t appear to be much rhyme or reason to who was served by whom. Thankfully we did end up getting drinks, but it wasn’t until after placing our meal order that the server belatedly wondered if we might like some biscuits.
We ended up having the Reuben and the Redlands Chicken Quesadilla (which I had received there before), both of which were acceptable. If the food was in some way special then it would be easier to tolerate the consistently poor service, yet it’s just your standard fare. Granted, I have not had their ribs or wings, things which the restaurant promotes and therefore may be produced at a higher quality. The bar probably is one of the better places in Lincolnton to watch sports given the televisions and beer selection. Homestead appears to be a better place for big groups than small ones, as they have plenty of room and it looks like large parties receive more attention.
I wanted to like this place because I do like the owner and Lincolnton desperately needs another quality restaurant, but when poor service is not just an isolated incident but an expectation, at some point you have to give up and move on. A manager who trains the staff in professionalism (no «sweetie» or «honey»), who organizes them to make sure that everyone knows which customers are their responsibility, and who reinforces positive performance while discouraging behaviors like prolonged socialization with guests or other staff would go a long way.

Coming home from Boone, we were famished. Found the place through the web on our cell, with a good Unilocal review.
Look, I know there are certain lofty expectations of certain stuck up city folk, and I will admit that I am kinda one of them.
Let’s put the food in perspective and move to service.
Front hostess a snob. Server was ditsy and a little off (partaking?). Never got the biscuits sweetie.
The salad bar was loaded and great
The comfort food my friends ordered was «ok»
I had a rib eye. !/​2″ piece of meat with more gristle than a cheap sirloin.
And I hate overcooked, rubbery veggies.
Sorry, slipped into the food. but come on!
The chocolate cake was divine, so I gotta give this establishment a 2.
Work on your help and the steaks, PLEASE!
I wanna go back while we travel through from Boone to Charlotte!
