Wish I didn’t even have to give this place a star. My family and I go to Champps on a regular basis. Regardless of if it is busy or not the service is absolutely atrocious. Regardless, we go back because we like the atmosphere, even though we do carve out more time knowing we are going there. Last night, I went with a bunch of my family to celebrate a cousin’s 21st birthday– they are one of the only bars open until 1am. The manager refused to serve us. why? Because he made up some line about not serving vertical IDs, in reality he just wanted to close the bar down because it was not busy. That is totally understandable but he accused us of her having a fake ID and did not care that he was losing out business. No one in my family will ever go back for the way that we were treated.

My overall experience here was alright. The service was great, but the food was very subpar. It’s pretty good for a sports bar, I guess. I found the food to be a little bit overpriced. The place is completely decked out in flat screen TVs, so it’s nice to come when it’s game night.(It IS a sports bar.) According to some of my friends, their mile-high nachos are phenomenal. I’ve yet to try them. It really depends on what day you come and where you sit, but the place is really loud. Not disgustingly loud, just very ambient. Not a very quiet place to go to for a romantic date. The place isn’t terrible, but it’s not really my go-to spot for food with my boyfriend.

This Champps is losing their touch. Burgers came out luke warm, and bread was somewhat stale. There was hardly anyone in the restaurant so can’t imagine what was up with the kitchen. It’s been a few months since last visit — probably make it longer before going back again while being sure to check out Red Robin next door first!

What happened to the extensive menu? Very disappointing… Many favorites dropped from the menu. I doubt I will go back.

Worst service ever! 9 tables occupied in the whole restaurant for dinner and it took nearly an hour for our food to come out(did they have to kill the vegetables for my veggie burger?). On top of that, they ignored us most of the meal(no «can I get you anything else» service when my brother wanted a second cup ranch the whole meal since the one he was given was ½ full(if even that)). Manager had to give us all the service besides ordering and delivering food. We went with my grandma who order soup and salad, and asked for the soup as an appetizer and did not receive until the main course was served. They also brought her food last, which I found obnoxious from a manners standpoint. I don’t know why I even bother going back to this place. It’s truly some of the worst service I have ever had

I’m very disappointed in Champps. This review has nothing to do with their food, but my son called them in advance(2 days) to arrange for a particular dessert with the words prom? written on it for his girlfriend, to invite her to the special senior dance. He was told it was no problem, the kitchen manager would get the message. My son then called the next day(day of his reservation) and again confirmed the dessert with prom? written on it. Again, they said, no problem, they had it written down. That night, they forgot to do it… boooooooo on you, Champps! That wasn’t nice!

Love this place. Burgers and fries always good and a nice kids menu. Usually about $ 60 for 2 adults and 3 kids. Service is up and down but we always have a nice relaxing time. Parking is not a issue may have to walk a little bit but hey thats good for you.

Great location near shopping and movie theaters. The best part about champps is that they have a 5.00 happy hour appetizer list. Order during the week before six in the bar area and each item is 5.00. Great if you and friends want to share different munches.

I had a LivingSocial deal that was expiring soon so my boyfriend and I came here to watch a little bit of the Bulls game and grab a bite to eat. We came on a Saturday evening around 6:00. The restaurant was somewhat busy and the ladies at the front desk seemed a bit frazzled. We didn’t have to wait too long for a table though, which was nice. We were seated by the kitchen area. The kitchen has glass windows so you can see the food coming out and the waiters taking it to bring to the diners. We ordered the lobster cheese dip with toasted crostinis for our appetizer. The dip was very flavorful and was rich and creamy. I could have bathed in that dip. It was just that good. The crostinis were toasted to perfection and a great vehicle for the dip. We gobbled that down quickly, but were feeling a bit full after. So, we split the pepperjack bacon stack burger, which is two patties with pepperjack cheese and applewood smoked bacon. They came with queso fries. I thought the queso would be a sauce on the fries, but it was more of seasoning. As for the burger, it was well-done and was pretty tasty. The two patties made the burger pretty big and I struggled to finish it. It came out already split, which was nice. As for the service, it was lacking. Our waiter forgot my straw for my lemonade and he wasn’t super friendly. Then again, it was busy and he was running around attending to a lot of tables so it was understandable. Price wise, I think it’s a bit spendy for just above average food. I think I would go back, but only if I had a coupon or some sort.

This is located in a place where there are a lot of restaurants, but the only plAce open later than midnight. Food is made there fresh, but its still chain restaurant food. Bartenders used to rock, but this place has gone downhill with management. There are always cops driving around in the parking lot late at night, which irritates more than makes the people who go here(other service industry people) feel safe.

I live in the area and have been here a couple of times. 2 stars for spotty service, watery drinks, and overall indifferent attitude. Most recently we went for the wings deal on Monday night and did not know that celery did not come with the wings. Instead of just telling us which we would have understood a server brought out a plate of celery and said loudly to us «just so you know celery does NOT come with this deal… it states on the coupon but I WILL give it to you this time.» We were also told by the hostess and server separately that it was a very slow night but service was slow and inattentive. Unfortunately there are not that many options around the area.

I went here last night to watch the UFC fights. They charged a $ 15 cover for everyone, which is a bit more than most places in the area. We were able to get a table right in front of the television, so I was a happy camper. Since it was cinco de mayo, I had to try out the new Mandarin Margarita. It was super sweet, but really good and fairly strong as far as drinks at bars come. I then switched over to the Saturday night special $ 4 Absolut mixed drinks(this includes flavors like mango!). They is a $ 0.75 up charge for juices. As far as food, we ordered the sampler to share with the table. The loaded baked potato was yummy and I also had a buffalo wing, which was the perfect amount of spicy paired with Blue Cheese dressing. For my meal, I had a Caesar salad. I ordered the small with no chicken, which was the perfect amount for me. I asked for extra dressing on the side since I usually want extra, but they used the perfect amount for me. So this means other people may want to ask for light dressing since I often get asked if I would like some lettuce with my dressing. The service was fantastic. Our waitress was amazing and very attentive throughout the entire night.

We really enjoy the food at Champs along with the clean interior. The major reason for the poor rating is due to the service. The last time we went(a month ago) we walked out because we waited at the front for ten minutes to be seated without anyone saying hello or we will be with you in a minute. I would expect to wait if it was busy, but the place was empty and there were plenty of servers standing around talking and the front desk person was on the phone. We had gone there a couple of weeks prior to this last visit and had the same terrible service after we were seated. We did not have a waiter show up until I flagged down a bus boy and asked if we could get some water after waiting fifteen minutes at our table. Even after letting the manager know of our wait, the service did not get any better. We had to wait even longer for refills and for our food. Even with the ten dollar off card they send us monthly in the mail, we will not be returning.

Champps occasionally has some really good deals on beer, but they’re food is pretty overpriced for its quality. I keep coming back, though, because they have some really great wait staff and it’s pretty convenient.

Super friendly & efficient service. Nice sports bar environment with plenty of room, huge bar & lots of TV’s. Chicken Picatta was pretty standard, i loved the green beans that came with. I tried their signature martini for 2012(cupcake something) that was strong & sweet. Definetely a nice foofoo drink but don’t think I could take more than one because I’m not big on the dessert drinks. My friend had a tuna steak salad which looked good and he gave thumbs up.

Well, after trying it again a few times, it has become worse than«A-OK». Mostly it is the service, but the generic ambiance detracts as well. On this last visit, the server forgot to bring my first soft drink until I reminded her — when the food came. She also had asked my wife«Waffle or Regular Fries?» — then added an up-charge for them to the bill. I asked for some Tabasco, but it never arrived. Prices are a concern now. Except for sandwiches/burgers/salads, there is nothing under about $ 15. Most of those items are a real strech for this kitchen. The parking is even more awful now that a «music club» has opened in the same building. The bar is still a pretend sports bar too. Just TV on the wall makes it one, I guess. And now, try their newest exotic beer — Coors! Yea, sure.

Food is ok but nothing special. The real knock? The staff we dealt with were rude and couldn’t be found when needed. Probably won’t be back soon.

I really like this place but parking absolutely stinks at lunch time. You have to go early or eat late if you want to avoid the Lincolnshire lunchtime rush. With that said, always good and friendly service. I love their chopped salad and they serve huge portions!

Stopped there for a beer, dinner and sports. Burger was great — a bit of a char broiled taste, which I enjoy. Half price appetizers until 7PM on the Wednesday night when I was there — ordered nachos with chicken and they were a great value. Plenty of TVs to watch games. Just what the doctor ordered.

To be honest, Champps is the kind of place I didn’t expect to enjoy when my mother first suggested we go there. I didn’t expect her to like it either, frankly — what would my wine-drinking mother want with a sports bar? Well, well, Champps — you’ve become a family staple. First off, as the name suggests, it is more than just a sports bar. ‘Tis also a restaurant. Granted, there are HUGE TVs everywhere, but the food selection far surpassed my expectations(Tasty salads at a bar?! Yum!). The«restaurant» portion of the establishment is huge and draws a mixed crowd of families and young suburbanites. As for the«bar» portion of Champps, the selection of beers and cocktails is pretty decent(with the noted exception that the menus tell you to «ask your waiter for a list of craft beers» and whenever I’ve done so it’s elicited little but confusion).
