I save my five star reviews for best in category(Italien deli). So, BONTA gets five stars. Everything is delicious, love the stuffed peppers. Make the trip, it’s worth it.

Tasty Italian food at reasonable prices. Lots of sandwiches available, but also other traditional plates. The wedding soup was very good. Loved the Pistachio cookies.

Big sandwiches for the money. The stuffed red pepper is healthy and good. Only negative is the staff doesn’t speak English well, so make sure they understand your order! Great people though. Crowded for lunch.

The ingredients are fresh and is amplified within the preparation and presentation that goes into the finished product. The food tastes like it was truly made in an Italian kitchen, not just made for the occasional Italian-American diner. The owner was nice enough to go through the entire menu with our group, with a lot of first timers. Very reasonable prices. They are 5 stars for a reason. What more could you ask for?!

Yes! I am definitely a fan and will agree with all the other positive reviews. I came here with a friend on one of those extremely snowy Chicago days where we were one of the only tables there as everyone else was freaked out by the two feet of snow we got but as we were leaving around 2ish it picked up. This is truly a hidden gem and I guess I shouldn’t promote it too much otherwise there won’t be room for me to get a table. But in all honesty, it is fantastic. I ordered the #1 procciuto with mozzarella panini and other veggies and for $ 7.99 it is the best deal in the north shore. It was absolutely delicious and super fresh as everyone else is pointing out and you can easily share it with your friend or save it for dinner. My friend got the soup and sandwich combo and got the meatball sandwich with the minestrone soup which she also seemed to like. I really do think it reminded me of the quality sandwiches I had for lunch in little Italian bistros and for that reason alone I will definitely be back(maybe on a less snowy day) but honestly it seems good on any day of the year. I’m very picky about my desserts but I did want to try their cannoli which they fill on the spot and I got mine with mini chocolate chips. My only regret is that I didn’t get the large and got the small to try since it was also super fresh and delicious. My only reason for not giving 5 stars is because I wish they had more selection of cookies and pastries on the day I was there since I would have liked to try some other stuff that people have Unilocaled about in the past. Also, the owner who took my order was very nice and pleasant. That is the kind of small business I want to give my business to. Bonta I will most certainly be back for some more Italian goodies and I can’t wait to try some more things on your menu.

This place is amazing. The food is incredible, the people are so welcoming. It’s like coming into their home. I got the Margarita sandwich. It was so fresh, and honestly the Best Margarita I’ve had in a long time. I hope this place lasts for years and years!

I was a little concerned when I saw high praise from a Sicilian native among the reviews, that the food — or at least the sauces — might be too spicy for someone who grew up with milanese cooking, but everything from the prosciutto sandwich to the arancini to the gelato was delicious. Definitely coming back!

You definitely get the family-owned, welcoming vibe from this cute little sandwich shop. The woman taking orders behind the counter was simultaneously holding her daughter on her hip, and all of the workers treated you like you were an old friend. When I first saw the menu I was overwhelmed by the sandwich options, as they all sounded so good. I ended up going with the chipotle chicken on ciabatta… SODELICIOUS! However, the place is rather small/cramped so you might want to consider getting your food to go. While you’re at it, check out their desserts. They have an awesome selection of gelato, pastries, cannolis & more!

Felt welcome from the moment I walked in. The staff was attentive but not at all obnoxious! Food was delicious! Ordered the number 1, the prosciutto Sandwhich, I had a late lunch so I couldn’t finish it but I wrapped it because it was so good. Pistachio cannoli is very good too!(If you see my other reviews, I’m very picky about cannolis. Glad I checked this place out– I plan to return.

I was in Lincolnshire and hungry. Being a city girl, I wasn’t sure where to go. I pulled up the trusty Unilocal app and saw this place had almost all the stars so I decided to go. Owner is so friendly, he didn’t stop smiling once. Food was ready fast, and he filled my cannoli on the spot. That sounded weird. Portions are very big, I could only eat half of the sandwich. Totally recommend this place!

Amazing experience… u know its gonna be legit Italian food when u walk in and the dude serving you is a big mafioso(but nice) guy straight outta Italy. He recommended that i get my sandwich spicy and it was the best decision i made all week(perhaps month). Spicy chicken chipotle sandwich — 10⁄10 Tomato bisque soup with complimentary garlic bread — 10⁄10 Exceeded all expectations.

Yummy sandwiches. Fast and friendly service. My boyfriend: «This place looks exactly like the sandwich shops in Rome.» So there you go. We were having a debate over the merits of the prosciutto vs pastrami sandwich. Pastrami, obviously! You’ll have to decide for yourself.

Fantastic! Best Deli sandwiches in Chicago! I can’t tell you how awesome these sandwiches are you will have to come in and try for yourself! I would recommend the Prosciutto, Pastrami, Chicken Cotoletta, Tuscan Herb and Ham, and Meatball Sub! You will feel the same way I do after you have a sandwich or two!

The tomato bisque with spinach was fan-freaking-tastic! With it, i got the turkey and cheese sandwich. Delicious bread, decent portions, but something was missing. Not even sure what. This place didn’t quite do it for me but i still want to give it another go. Maybe i’ll stick with a classic italian sub next time since this is an italian deli. Worse case scenario i can try some more soup The store front is quaint and has plenty of other options that you may be looking for including beer and wine. Definitely give this one a try and Unilocal it!
