Spa At Thunder Valley

Two massages in one week because it is so awesome! My mother and I came here in December and just came back in had the June advantage special on Monday and today. I absolutely felt so relax and at peace after my massage with Joyce on both days exclamation she takes the time to really understand where you need her to focus on and always make sure that your comfortable. My mother had MJ today and really enjoyed it and said it was one of the best massages she has received. We will definitely be returning and the girls at the front desk or also very pleasant to make appointments with.

Decided not to bother coming here for our anniversary. I tried to book a couple’s massage, but was told the only way we could have a massage together was to purchase the only couples package they have at $ 300 plus a mandatory 20% tip! I didn’t want candles and rose pedals for the extra $ 60 and they refused to book at the regular massage prices. They also no longer offer the locals discount. I was really hoping to like this place, but that is ridiculous. I found plenty of other local options for a lot less.

I am a raving fan.
I came to the Spa at Thunder Valley reluctantly, at the recommendation of a friend. I just really did not have any desire to pay to have someone rub me with oil. My friend gave such high recommendations of the massage technician Judit, I decided to go.
It was the best decision that I have made this year. Incredible.
Over the years, I have sustained a few semi-​traumatic injuries that have left some stiffness and constant minor pain in a few locations; lower back, a knee, and upper thigh. I have been living with that for years, and believed that was the way that life was going to be. I have spent countless hours and thousands of dollars with chiropractors, that provide temporary relief from pain, but not long lasting. Seriously, my life has been changed for the better since I have been coming to Thunder Valley Spa. I will explain–
I have never been to a spa before. This is a very nice place with a courteous and helpful staff. There is a quiet and peaceful atmosphere. The waiting room was very comfortable and quiet. I was greeted by Judit, was led back to the treatment room, and had a brief conversation about what my ailments were. Judit identified other areas of previous injury, and focused on them. She used a combination of aromatherapy, hot stones, and deep tissue massage. Her knowledge of the human body, muscle structure, and connectivity is unbelievable. This is someone that is a true professional that enjoys helping people, not just rubbing oil on many clients. The results of her treatments have been nothing short of incredible. The results are lasting, not like the chiropractic visits that I have had in the past, which diminish after a day or two.
I have had three appointments with Judit, and the results have been fantastic. When I get out of bed and swing my legs to the floor, it does not hurt like it has for several years. The occasional stabbing pain on the top of my thigh has almost completely gone away. Booking an appointment has now become an event that I look forward to, I am getting better and have increased mobility.

Giving you three stars and those are for my wonderful spa therapist Jennifer. She was kind, knowledgable and very good. As for the spa itself I was not impressed. The smell of cigarettes in the spa area is almost unbearable. It really took away from the relaxing experience. Although I was a bit late, it would have been nice to get a walk through of what the spa offers. Young girl who told me about the tour, never came back to give it. Five stars for Jennifer but zero for facility.

This place was amazing I had it all to myself for a long time. The staff was great also.

I got a massage here for my birthday and I was so excited! I’ve never been to a high end spa before. Everyone was super friendly. Everything was immaculate. I had a prenatal massage and the belly pillow that allows me to lay on my stomach was surprisingly comfortable.
The massage was great, the only thing I would have changed is the pace of the therapists strokes. They were very fast and made me feel rushed. It was pretty hard to relax. The pressure was great though and she really hit my trigger points in my glutes.
If the strokes were slower and more relaxing, it would have easily been a 5 star visit!

Fricken awesome! Love my spa by my home town :) and the amenities are super … eucalyptus sauna is AMAZING, my fav! (I actually went on Christmas day — 25^th)

absolutely love coming to this place! it’s 10 mins from my house and I love that! Jenelle Neri is my favorite therapist! I can come in with a headache and after a 50 – 80 minute massage, it’s gone! She gives the right amount of pressure everytime — she’s the best therapist I have encountered!!! The spa is high class, the staff takes care of you, I could literally come here everyday!!!

If you ever want a good quality massage you have to come here. The amenities are nice. They have the standard steam room, dry spa, and showers. The staff is also very professional and helpful, but with out question the 5 stars is for the masseuse. JUDIT is her name and she is the best masseuse I’ve ever been too. Very professional and very strong hands. My wife has also used her and we both can’t recommend her enough!

The bar is super slow. Not even busy and it’s been 15 minutes. Only 2 people ahead of me.

Hubby & I had the Couples Massage and it was awesome!
Will certainly be coming back on a regular basis!

Continuing massage sessions with JUDIT. She has fixed my tendonitis in my elbow, giving me more motion in my shoulders, and helped with my lower back issues… overall??? AWESOME to feel good again. This person is very, very good at feeling out your issues and working on them. But it takes time and repeat visits. You will feel sooooo good after she works on you. Don’t forget to go to the steam room after and soothe your aches. Very relaxing… I was so blessed to find this wonderful person.
All the girls there are very nice. Nikki and Sarah attend to you in the changing room and are very good at making you feel at home.
Don’t wait anymore… book an appointment… you won’t be sorry.

Five stars are for the incredible therapist that I had. Janette or Jeanette is the one of the best therapists I have ever had. Four stars for the front office staff and 2 stars for charging an automatic 20 percent tip. I would have tipped 20 percent anyways, but clients deserve the right to choose.

I first came here January 2014 and there are so many great things about Thunder Valley casino, whether it be gambling, the hotel, restaurants/​food, special events, or the Spa! So far I have had great experiences at this Spa and I normally only come on weekdays. They do manicures, pedicures, massages, facials, waxing, etc. What I love the most are the Steam room and Dry sauna, it’s excellent for detoxing your body, as well as massages of course. The entire place is very relaxing and well designed. You can enjoy «me time» with complimentary tea, snacks, fresh fruits in their lounge as long as you want. You can truly relax in the quiet with peaceful mind, soothing Spa music. They have nice showers, clean bathrooms, spacious vanity area, plenty of towels, Robes, and they do provide sandals. (just be courteous and do not take out the sandals from the Spa area, not to go to the pool, gym, or outside). Another thing I really like are the lockers, it is comforting to lock up your belongings and know they are safe.
Anytime you go to the Spa or stay at the hotel, you have full access to the pool outside during seasonal hours and the gym to go workout/​exercise! Both are great and convenient. If you get hungry, you can order food as well… they have a special menu. You will also find complimentary Liwa small bottled waters, which is very important to stay hydrated throughout your visit! If you need any amenities like soap, blow dryer, cotton balls, combs, and more are available.
The staff has been wonderful to me. I have no complaints or negatives, all my experiences have been positive ones. From check in, to payments with automatic gratuity 20%, to service, to the staff in the lounge asking me how is everything going or if I need anything, they make me feel so welcomed and comfortable. I also recommend you get a Player’s card because it comes in handy for extra discount or if you want to use your comps. Thunder Valley for me is always like a «mini getaway», I love coming here! It can be expensive, but I think it’s worth it and it feels so great to be in the Spa environment and getting pampered. Then you leave relaxed and feeling less stressed…

I came here with a few girlfriends for a girls day out and selected the mellow maternity massage. Jennifer was great about taking care of me and making sure that i was comfortable. The massage was soothing and relaxing. The facility is great and offered good amenities such as the rainfall shower, dry sauna, appetizer, etc. i had a great time and will definitely recommend it to friends and come back!

July week you get a free morrocan oil treatment for your hair and heat rocks with an 80minute massage. I got a deep tissue one which was just what i needed. They have people walking around the whole spa asking if they can help you with anything. The mens lockeroom was clean and if you shower the rain shower (8 showerheads) is the way to go!

Overall the spa is small but does have a steam room, sauna and fancy multi head shower. It is very clean and the attendants are helpful. The day we were there it felt crowded at one point while waiting for services and there was not enough seats in the lounge for everyone waiting as a larger party of ladies had come in.
I started with my 50 min massage by MJ. My massage was fabulous! I was so relaxed. She used the right amount of pressure. Also I am not one who likes to chat during my massage and really appreciate when the therapist is respectful of that and doesn’t true to push conversation on me.
MJ is wonderful and I will go back just to have a massage from her!
Then I headed into my facial where the Thearpist started by insulting my eyebrows saying they are too thick and that I should let her wax me. Ummm noooo I just waxed them and like them this way. We were not off on a good foot and the insults continued until I think she realized I was annoyed. Then it was on to trying to upsell me on services and products — No thank you!
She talked the entire time (50 mins) and all my relaxation from my wonderful massage by MJ went to the way side. I mentioned my experience as I was paying at the front desk but received some half shrugs — I probably should have pushed it. Especially since when i went upstairs and my hubby and friends reactions were what happened to me. When I looked in mirror I realized I was red (no extractions) and super shiny (like see your reflection shiny). I had to completely wash off the oils and stuff she put on my face to be able to head out for dinner. Facial was complete waste of money!
So in summary — go see MJ for a massage and do not go here for a facial! If not for horrible experience during the facial this place would be a 5 out of 5!

We just went here for my birthday to do the couples massage. It’s the only massage we’ve ever done here and this was our 3^rd or 4^th visit. I use to really like it here but after this last visit, we won’t be going back. They use to offer a 20% discount for locals which they have since taken away. Not only did they take that away but they raised their already over-​priced services. I find it extremely irritating that they automatically add on a 20% tip! Tips and tip amounts are optional BASED on the service you receive. This last visit was certainly not worthy of a 20% tip but we had no choice. The couples massage was $ 219 plus tax plus $ 43 for a mandatory tip for a total of $ 289!!! That was ONLY for a 50 minute couples massage which wasn’t even 50 minutes. Every trip before was $ 195 total for the exact same service!
They asked us as they were starting if we were «opposed to them using hot stones». We both replied saying that we didn’t mind. Come to find out, there was a $ 20 charge for those few minutes of hot stones. We were NEVER told this was extra. It was phrased in such a way that it sounded as if the hot stones were included as part of the service.
During the massage there were a ton of interruptions and loud noises. It wasn’t relaxing. We were then rushed out afterwards because they were closing so we couldn’t use the bathroom or get ready for dinner at their steak house. Consequently we decided to go off location and eat dinner elsewhere. I couldn’t have been more disappointed! And I feel like I was robbed of my $ 289. The only reason I gave a second star was because we were able to use the pool during the day before our massage.

I do NOT like the fact that a 20% gratuity is added to my total price during check out. I was never told about that, I would have tipped 20% anyway, my massage therapist was amazing, I cannot complain about her. But I am not a fan of this place. The price is sky high compared to other areas.
Access to the pool is through the front of the hotel (even though there is a hallway that is more discrete), you cannot keep your belongings in the spa area and go to the pool because there is limited lockers. The relaxation room is next to the vanity area. So after an amazing massage you hear loud blow dryers. Then walk through the casino that is full of cigarette smoke and loud machines. Not an ideal situation after leaving a spa. :(

80 min Deep tissue massage with hot stones is incredible! Staff does a great job of taking care you. MJ (my therapist) was like a superhero highly recommend her! Win in the casino and go straight here!
