History

Established in 1989.

Our story began in Ceresco, NE where Jan and Carol prepared tax returns at the kitchen table, with Jan’s Golden Retriever, Sonny, warming their feet. Our firm was founded as Jan Mumm, CPA and we later became known as Mumm & Associates, P.C. In 1999, we proudly opened our Lincoln location.

In 1989, another avenue to offer our business clients substantial additional tax savings was created. Our firm evolved around the needs of our clients and began administering cafeteria plans because we recognized the need for cafeteria plan administrators that would service smaller employers. At the time, small employers were unable to offer their employees these valuable tax-​saving plans because this option was only available to large employers.

Since we have began administering cafeteria plans, we have facilitated the opportunity to save small employers thousands of dollars in FICA and Medicare taxes. Employees save money alongside their employers by having pre-​tax benefits.
