Massage Envy – O Street

I have really struggled with if I should write a review or not but after being annoyed with how my visit went for about a month, here it goes. My family decided to get massages as a group for xmas/​birthday celebrations. I got a prenatal massage and it was horrible. I wrote down on the form what areas I was having issues with and they were not addressed. I mentioned during the massage that I have some lower back pain and she rubbed my glutes so hard that I had a bruise later that day, even though I checked that i wanted a relaxing massage. I actually said «oh ouch» out loud and she didn’t back off. She also talked during the entire massage. I was suppose to get and hour and was in and out of the establishment in 45 minutes. One side of my body she did back, glutes, legs, feet, arms and hand and the other side she did back, foot and hand. It was really inconsistent. There was no neck, facial or scalp and like I said, there was definitely time because my actual massage time was shorted 20 min.
My Mom and sister also got massages and they were not good. My sister didnt get her arms, hands, scalp, neck or face massaged at all. We all went back at the same time and she was out before I was. My Mom was the last to come out said it was «okay» but that her girl was «chatty». My mom doesn’t say negative things about anyone.
My other sister got a facial. The actual product of the facial were good. She noticed her skin felt nice and it looked wonderful. However, she asked the girl who did her massage some specifics and did not receive any answers. She asked her what was in something and what it did and the girl simply said, «it just like erases all your wrinkles.»
We were all so disappointed and I have been trying to find a proper prenatal massage ever since. Definitely avoid going here. We weren’t just there on a bad day. Not one of us had a good experience.

Horrible people! I got my mom a gift card for 1 hour of message she went and they charged her an extra 30 dollars! They try to take your money an way they can! They don’t even give you a full hour! My mom went and changed out and had to wait for the girl to arrive and they counted that time again her! That is NOT okay! They are very expensive! Highly don’t recommend going with them! My mom did say it was very relaxing and liked how it felt.

I’ve asked for a year now that they stop sending me their propaganda apparently they don’t listen. I don’t want emails, postcards, or letters. I’ve called and emailed asking them to stop and this is why I hate corporate companies. Please respect my request it is ridiculous that I have had to resort to leaving a review.

Wasn’t impressed… Only had a 50 minute massage even though it was supposed to be an hour. My massage therapist, Vyanne, mostly just used pressure points, so it was relaxing but not a traditional massage. Also, she didn’t touch my shoulders, neck or scalp which I find strange. I would not recommend them.

One star is too good. I am in true pain… I arrived on time had to wait filled out the form. My friend sent me the massage. I have had many good massages. This was miserable at the time and now severe pain. I wrote down the areas needing attention. Told the therapist what I needed concentrate upon. That was ignored. 60 minutes is a lie and should be changed I was taken back to the room at 107 then I had an add on service. I was dressed and in my car at 210. That included checking out. I made a complaint and was told I could try another therapist. There were many others of course I would have to join then I would have to keep trying our therapists until I got a good one ! What!!! I WILL NEVER GO BACK! I AM IN SEVERE PAIN. IF YOU NEED A REAL MASSAGE GIVE THIS PLACE A MISS. THEY DON’T GIVE TWO CENTS ABOUT THE CUSTOMER. HOW CAN THEY CHARM ANZ ADVERTISE 60 MINUTES PLUS ADD ON SERVICES AT EXTRA CHARM AND ONLY GIVE YOU 40 MINUTES. THEY PAIN I AM IN I GUESS I SHOULD BE GLAD! I THINK THIS SHOULD BE LOOKED INTO 1 STAR IS WAY TO GOOD TOO BAD THERE ISN’T 0. My friend in Boston is awesome it was such a generous gift which makes this even sadder… okay my 1200 plus Facebook friends. If you have been to Spa Envy what was your experience? If you haven’t definitely DO NOT go to the Massage Envy in Lincoln, Nebraska!

Positives Rosland is amazing along with Chelsey and Tyler. The establishing is clean but goes downhill from there. Your hour massage is a lie, it’s more of a ⁴⁰⁄₄₅ mins. Which would be fine, if your not paying for an hour. The price if your a member is reasonable but can find it comparable around town without a membership. Found it hard to get in when my schedule allows. They have a ‘wait list/​on call’ but rarely do they listen to what times will work for you. They are too cheap to have eye covers, and some masseuses actually bring their own, for the comfort of their clients! I feel sorry for the people that are stuck in the room by the exit door for your massage isn’t peaceful with door shutting all the time. Another irritation is that you can’t ‘give’ your massage to a friend without paying a $ 10 ‘transfer fee’ One would think its good business to have clients spread and share the word of your establishment without having to pay extra. Another negative is keep an eye on how many massages you have and when you use them. Found I was shorted and offered a ‘free’ extra 30 mins ‘on them’ for running behind and having to change my appointment, but than they charged me for it.

Susanah is absolutely amazing! I have had lower back and neck issues my whole life, I’ve never really considered massage a necessity but a luxury until Susanah worked on me. I go to her once a month now and the pain stays away. It usually causes a lot of problems because I carry a backpack around campus but since seeing Susanah I haven’t had those problems. The staff is also great and welcoming.

My experience was not a good one. I booked a massage because I wanted to relax, but it didn’t happen. The massage therapist was just okay. I had massages before at other places and i know what a good massage feels like. I was freezing because my bed was not warm. I wanted the massage to end because I was just so miserable due to the cold air in the room. When I was asked how the message was I was honest and told them I was not able to relax because the room was very cold. At the front desk they had a guy that was a little annoying he was way too nice so he could book you for another massage or sale you stuff. Just a little too much. I will not be returning ever again. Instead of feeling relax and happy I was upset to spend money on something that was not good.

I have such mixed emotions about this place. Let’s start with the positives:
Clean, soothing, dark, quiet. Nice music. And the introductory price can’t be beat. But if you want to go back, a few things you should know…(the negatives…)
After that first visit, they jack up the price big time unless you sign up for a monthly membership. The membership is not a bad deal either, but they tack on this big sign up fee. They’re a bit pushy about the membership too… you can tell the business model calls for the front desk to make this big pitch. Just make the prices reasonable whether you are a member or not.
My biggest problem with the place however, is a bit of false advertisement in terms of how long your massage will be. Fist visit, I was slated for an hour massage, and got more like 45 minutes. A therapist and a front desk person explained that there is time for going over your problem areas, and then «hands on» time. They also count the time you’re getting dressed/​undressed against you. I have been a massage therapist for years, and an hour massage is an hour massage. Like, an hour of rubbing my sore muscles. The business establishment should always set up appropriate clean up/​diagnosis time in between each client so that the clients receive what they are paying for! My second visit was for a 90 minute massage, and I received an hour and 10 minutes. 20 minutes short! Yikes!
I have to give a shout out to Ariel who worked on me today though… you are amazing. Perfect pressure, worked exactly on the areas I specified, professional, and effective. She did a great great job. I know the only reason she shorted me is because that’s what Massage Envy tells her to do, after all, she has to get another massage started in 10 minutes.
