Customer service is awful you call the main number and they page and no one ever picks up! I left message and No return call. I asked to speak with a manager and the customer service female manager gets On phone I explain my frustrations and she replies” don’t be rude to me I’m trying to help «if this is how she deals with customers it’s no surprise the rest of the staff is also lacking in customer service !!!

First, I want to make it clear that I received a great deal on my car at Baxter. The staff were attentive and helpful, I found a car I really like that will save me on gas, but there was just one problem and that was a lack of integrity.
When I purchased the new vehicle I made it very clear to the sales person that I had just put a brand new sound system in my car. I stated that I wanted all the components that I had put into the new system and I was assured that this is what would happen. The next day I went in to collect my sound system and all they had pulled out was the receiver (sans the expensive cabling that went with it) and the subwoofer. No speakers, no wires, no channel adapters.
The sales person was not there so I spoke with him on the phone the following day. He stated that he had no idea I was talking about an entire sound system because «no one does that». He stated that I got a great deal on the vehicle and that he could not justify the cost of having the speakers removed. He also inferred that by having the system put into tge car, I made some kind of mistake. The long and short of my message is if you deal with Baxter get everything in writing. Clearly they have an integrity issue.
I took the original factory speakers back with the crappy wiring but did not receive what I was promised.
By pulling this stunt, misunderstanding or not, they lost 10 times what they «gained» in keeping my speakers. They lost a loyal customer who likes to buy a car a year. Oh well, such is life…

If you are in the market for new or used, talk to Will C. He’s new to the dealership but is willing to go above and beyond to make sure his clients’ requests are addressed.

I made the mistake of taking the GAP and extended warranty when I bought my car. However, I called them THE VERY NEXT DAY and told them that I didn’t want it. They went ahead and sent in my loan papers with the GAP and extended warranty financed, even though I told them not to do so. I have been on the phone several times trying get the money sent back to the credit union, speaking with the original finance person and the finance manager. It should have never been part of the loan, it should have never been sent to them and they need to give it back ASAP. I think my next step will be to contact the attorney general’s office and report them for theft.
After posting this review, I was contacted by the GM, and the problem was resolved. It’s a shame it took posting a bad review to get results, but I am happy to say that the money was finally credited to my loan.

Ahhh… Baxter Toyota aka. Performance Toyota aka. Toyota of Lincoln.
I like the name change, it sounds very similar to Honda of Lincoln. I think you are on to something there. After all, they are the ones with a Unilocal rating approaching 5 stars and nearly every one of your ratings comes from a Unilocaler willing to pay cash to slap negative stars on that pasty, white ass.
No amount of General Manager groveling will compensate for the reputation you have earned over the years. You very much deserve your Unilocal rating.
But I am not one to remain bitter, in fact I’m here to help and offer my counsel here on Unilocal PRO BONO!
On behalf of Performance Toyota of Lincoln, I would like to apologize we can’t find the car keys you handed us 10 minutes ago, so please bear with me while we relentlessly search, we are truly… very, sorry.
TRANSITION STEPS TO ENTER THE MODERN AGE OF CAR SALES:
1) Consider having two separate sales desks, one for the people who want to waste their time/​money and have zero self-​confidence and one for people who value their time and see through your emotional manipulation and petty, outdated sales tactics.
2) Observe which desk is more popular now and in 3 – 5 years.
a) WARNING: Hire an outside firm to track the popularity of the two desks. I’m not saying your finance team is dishonest, they just don’t have much experience with that specialized form of accounting which is accurate, ethical and transparent.
3) Immediately fire both Starsky and Hutch from the sales team. They were decent actors in their day, I will give them that, but most of your customers can afford cable TV and are not impressed by the good-​cop-​bad-​cop routine.
4) Replace the sales manager with a printed price list. Problem solved.
It is hard to say which is my favorite Performance Toyota story. It may have been the time I helped my girlfriend buy a car and they suggested I leave to get the flyer she got in the mail. Nope, I stayed and held them accountable, I suffer from no illusions of car dealer friendship, we aren’t soulmates. My job is to call bullshit to protect the people I care about.
Mr. GM, do you mind going away for a bit, while me and three of my questionable associates spend some time alone with your wife?
You feel that? Yeah, that is the same way I felt towards your sales staff, I’m a nice guy, he still has his teeth.
My favorite Baxter Toyota story is when the sales manager called me later in the day after I walked out on them and I told them about my rad new Honda!
He congratulated me, but I think he was reading from the same script that the GM has been using here on Unilocal,it’s pretty dated stuff.

If it was possible to give zero stars I would. This review is for their service department. We recently moved into the area and honestly have thought about driving 14+ hrs to our former dealership after the treatment and experiences at performance/​Baxter.
First when you call you are often put on hold and then have to ask for the service department. Once you finally reach the service department (I was once told they were busy and I would be called back — I never was) you will most likely deal w someone who will be clueless and placed on hold again multiple times. When you finally have an appt don’t expect them to stick to what they say over the phone regarding pricing, time. In one of two bad experiences — the manager didn’t even emerge out of his fish bowl office to address the issue instead sat there trying to avoid eye contact with me. Additionally, while a part was being put on my car a tech said to the attendant it was the wrong part and the Attendant seemed more concerned over whether I heard it not whether it was correct not stopping and checking on the issue. Appears that the only thing important to this dealership is money and turning around the most cars — not on customer relations. Since we have an extended warranty I don’t have many choices on where to service my car so I will have to return but I will say that i an not looking forward to it.

Drove in a 2013 RAV4 still under warranty and needed a center console lock replaced. Was told the whole center console top lid needed to be replaced and it was gonna be $ 300 installed because they don’t sell the individual lock part. I was shocked because there are literally two screws to take off the lock and looks like a replaceable part. I left and Googled for the part I needed and was able to find it online for $ 26 shipped. Just to screws to take old out and put new one in… this Toyota wanted $ 300 to replace whole top lid. I’m not sure whether they’re clueless or just plain greedy…
I would have been fine paying for just the lock installed or just for the part and I’ll install it myself.

This is a review of my experience buying a used car. Mileage may vary for new car purchasers.
First I’d like to comment on the general operations of this car dealership. The sales person I worked with directly on my purchase was very polite. The building is clean and the lot layout is fine. Sales people are aggressive, but no more so than any other new car dealership I’ve been to in Lincoln. There were a couple things that occurred to me that made the place feel a little slimy. The first occurred when I returned to get a closer look at the vehicle I would eventually purchase. They had moved all the used vehicles onto a lot across the street from their main building. Vehicles had been pulled into the lanes, creating a blockade to keep people from driving back to look at them, forcing everyone to get out of their vehicle and walk through a tent of circling salespeople. There were probably 6 – 7 of them standing around chatting and they all turned and gravitated in my direction as I pulled in. As soon as one of them explained I could not look at any of the vehicles without parking and getting out, I left. I figured I’d come back another day when they weren’t trying so hard for fresh prey. The second off-​putting event occurred after I had returned later and decided to purchase a vehicle. Once I got to signing, my price jumped by $ 500. I questioned this and the sales person explained it was a standard documentation fee, and it was clearly disclosed on all of their vehicle tags. He even pulled one for me so I could see it, and sure enough, in tiny font next to a little asterisk at the bottom of the tag there was a note about additional fees. He insisted it was standard and that all dealerships had them, and that theirs was actually less on average than other places. I then called one of the used vehicle places I had another prospective car lined up with, and confirmed they did not have a documentation fee, their sticker price was their final price. I don’t have any reason to doubt that other new car dealerships have these fees, but there are plenty of used dealers out there that don’t and I’d like to believe there are other new car dealers that are more up front about them.
The vehicle I purchased wasn’t a lemon, it’s still running fine several months after the purchase. There were two flaws I discovered within days of the purchase. The first is the windshield wiper fluid disbursement things don’t work. The second is that the fuel gauge doesn’t give accurate readings. When it gets down to ¾ a tank of gas, the gauge starts to act strange and just kind of glides between ½ and ¾ of a tank, never dipping below the ½ mark. It’s not safe not knowing how much gas you have, you could get stranded in an unsafe place or out in –10 degree temperatures that we get here in Nebraska. I notified my sales person of these defects within a few days. At one point he mentioned he had talked to a manager about it, after a few emails back and forth it ended with the dealership telling me they wouldn’t repair either problem and I needed to take it to my mechanic. To be fair, they do sell all used vehicles as-​is, just like every other dealership in town. I had brought up the point that these defects did exist while the vehicle was on their lot, before I purchased it, and they did not disclose them to me. Their reply was that they did not know about them, which I believe. I’ve had issues come up like this with other used cars I’ve bought at another place in town, and that used car dealer fixed the issues without question. If the issue existed prior to me signing the purchase agreement, even if they didn’t know about it, they had me bring it back in and they fixed it on their dime. I’ll admit I haven’t bought enough used cars to know which experience is more common, but I’ve bought enough to know there are better places to buy used cars then Performance Toyota.
My final rating of my experience with Performance Toyota is that this place is just average. Full disclosure, I’m a gen Xer/​Yer and therefore perhaps a bit bias due to how I’m used to making purchases. I’m not used to sales people interfering or avert sales tactics being shoved at me, so experiences like you get at traditional car dealerships are off-​putting for me. Admittedly, while the experience at Performance Toyota wasn’t exactly pleasant, it’s nothing worse then what you’d get with most other new car dealerships in town. Their handling of my vehicles pre-​existing conditions wasn’t great, but if I had to guess I’d say this is the same stance most car dealerships would take. There are exceptions out there though, dealerships with sales people that aren’t pushy and that back the vehicles they sell in a very open and honest way. I recommend doing your research and seeking them out rather than settling for one of the many average dealerships we have in town. When it comes to car dealerships, «average» does not equate to «good».

Alway get comfortable service. If u dont want to wait. Make an appointment. They prepare hot coffee, donuts and fruits. Kids playroom and free wifi as well.

I will give Toyota two stars instead of one because I liked my salesman. He was a nice guy, very helpful, patient and had the car we were interested in waiting for us when we go there. We even test drove a second car for comparisons sake. Everything was pleasant until we started talking money. Toyota was the first dealership we stopped at and I had a figure in my head. I wasn’t going to spend more than that figure and I told them that up front.
Well, you know where this goes. Once the sales manager gets involved, anything you previously said goes out the window. They can’t possibly sell you the car at this price. If the price went down, the interest rate went up. if the interest rate went down, the price would go up. it is a typical song and dance. Finally, we agreed upon a price and an interest rate. Even though we arrived at 9:30am on a week day morning, we had a 45 minute wait to get into the finance office. It was lunch time by now and we were starving.
Once in the finance office, surprise, surprise the interest rate had gone up again and an extended warranty was figured into the price. The fiancé manager insisted that in order for me to get the interest rate that was promised, I had to buy the extended warranty. Well, being hungry and tired after nearly 4 hours I had enough. I’m done. You aren’t going to coerce me to buy a warranty. Well, after I had my hissy fit, the manager came in and fixed the interest rate. Seriously, I’ve worked with some shady people but to agree to a rate and then try to tell me in the finance office that I can only get the rate if I buy their extended warranty. That felt all kinds of «dirty» to me.
After we got that squared away, the finance manager had us sign some documents and said we were done. Except that I had to remind him that we hadn’t signed a finance agreement, or paid him our down payment. (I don’t know if he genuinely forgot, or if this was some nefarious scheme.) There is a reason they call it the «FINANCE OFFICE» after all. Then to top it all of, we had to come in several days later to sign more paperwork that he had forgotten.
So, to summarize. Happy with the car, happy with our salesman. The sales manager and the finance manager made it an unpleasant experience and we ended up leaving hungry, frustrated and angry. We could have left happy, satisfied and looking forward to buying a car from them again, except they had to try to squeeze a few more dollars out of us.

These people typify the scumbag car salesman culture. I bought a brand new corolla in 2010, misplaced some paperwork regarding warranty. I’ve been in regular contact with them for the past 3 months, yet nobody has a straight forward answer on what exactly was sold. Toyota is a solid brand, these people are giving it a bad name. I do not recommend using this dealership, take your chances on other Toyota locations nearby. Customer service doesn’t end after you sign the dotted line.

We test drove a low mile used car at performance toyota Lincoln. We totally liked the car. The salesperson said he would be able to get us a lower price than the used sticker price in the window .
Went home and did some more vehicle shopping on the web. Saw the vehicle we drove for sale on an auto sale site for around $ 4,000 less than what was on the car at the lot. Not too much later I received an email from the salesman asking whether we were still interested in the vehicle. I said we were moving away from that make/​model.
He wondered if it was because of the price and indicated he got permission to sell us the car for an incredible price. which was by the way the same price I saw it online for. It irked me so much I looked online and saw that the car had been marked up in price!
Something was fishy and we didn’t buy there.

I’ve been pretty happy with this dealership thus far, both sales & service. Toby made my first car buying experience relatively painless. My only real complaint is that the wireless internet in the waiting area RARELY works.

the worst service ever d telling my car doors they couldn’t even get the whole door cleaned after sending it back 3 times they finally got it done a 45 minute job maximum took over 2 hours to get completed what a shame all because I got my windows tinted at Pro 10 which did not clean the doors after they got the stuff they sprayed on the windows drip down the doors all four doors with hundreds of drips lines down the door panels brand new car what a shame hey can I understand how they can not understand wiping down the whole door means wiping down the whole door or cleaning it.

We looked at a lot of dealerships, and Performance Toyota was near the bottom. Similar to what reviewer Nikki wrote, the salesperson wanted us to sit at his desk and have us look at a computer rather than letting us drive a car. It was only after the 3^rd or 4^th time that I said «We just want to sit in the car» that he finally let us look at some vehicles. There was some vibe about the place that neither I nor my love liked. Moreover, we later learned that a friend of hers had a terrible experience and that she knew someone that drove to Crete to buy a Toyota rather than deal with Performance Toyota of Lincoln.

Taking your car in for service is never fun, but Performance Toyota makes it as unbearable as possible. Unfortunately they are the only show in town… Classic.

I had a great experience with Performance Toyota. The lease on my last car was to terminate in just a few days so I decided to get out of my lazy gear and look for new cars. I had my mind made up on a Prius. I looked at a few used models at other lots before comparing at Performance. We went to Performance dreading the high pressure sales tactics we have heard about. A salesman met us shortly after we got out of our car. We told him what we were looking for: a used Prius. He showed us the three cars they had and then we noticed that the new models were just a few grand more so we switched from looking for a used car to a new car. We test drove a 2010 — this is the only beef I have with Performance: I don’t like having a salesperson go on a test drive with me and they pretty much require this. Not a big deal, we took the salesman out on our test drive. We liked the car. Once we got back, we located the car we would like to purchase and made an appointment to come back the next day to purchase the vehicle. The next day was the salesman’s day off but he was more than happy to meet us at the designated time. I sent my husband in to make the purchase. The salesman was on time and had all the paperwork ready for my husband. Sadly, we were not as ready as we thought we were: we needed to collect a few more pieces of paperwork to complete our transaction. Buying a car for a business is not the same as buying a car for personal use. The salesman let him take the car home and said we could come back in two days with the information we were missing. The staff at Performance went out of their way to make our experience enjoyable. They didn’t make us jump through hoops. We didn’t feel taken advantage of and we didn’t feel like they were trying to sell us something we didn’t want or need.
I will definitely return as a customer and I will also recommend this salesman and Performance Toyota to friends.

Both my friends & parents had had satisfactory experiences here, so I gave it a shot. Armed with my best, no-​nonsense girl friend and the prerequisite male friend (my boyfriend isn’t the haggling type), we took a lap around the lot.
When we went in, we we greeted at the door by a salesman, who sat us at his desk. First, I gave him all my info (I hate it when they ask you for all of that before showing you anything). Then, I had to ask him FOUR times to take us out to the lot to show us what he had that fit my price range. He was obviously more interested in selling me a car LOAN than a car.
The salesman played dumb («Why does the total price matter to you can still afford the monthly payments?»), rode along during the one test-​drive I took (while constantly trying to convince me into it), and even tried the «Let me see what I can work out with the manager while I let you sweat it out at my desk» bit.
Finally, my friend called him out. «Look,» she said. «I’m not trying to be rude, but we’ve asked you which cars you have that fit our price range several times. And every time you leave, you come back to the desk with a car you haven’t told us about before.»
A few minutes later, we thanked him & tried to politely leave. He refused to shake our extended hands, & wouldn’t stand up (in an effort to get us to sit back down).
I sincerely do NOT think all of the sales reps at Performance Toyota are like this, but this was a horrible experience.
If you do go there & they sit you at a desk, ask them to search the inventory of the «hundreds of dealerships» or whatever it is that they have access to. Or better yet, check AutoTrader ahead of time so you can ask for something specific. And take one of the free cookies.
