I have stayed here several times as a kid, this time I stayed with my husband and sadly I was kind grossed out. The room really needed a deep clean. I know it’s a small company and the place is older which I don’t mind but I can’t Handel when places are dirty. It wouldn’t take much to clean it up we stayed in the studio, it’s small. Hope they clean better because I like this place.

I love love looooove this place. It’s our little secret gem in the rough! My boyfriend and I visited again for the third time over this last weekend. I love that they allow our pets to stay for a $ 10 extra charge. Unit 4 is our usual room. It’s their smallest and cheapest, but for just us two and the dog, it’s perfect. Every room has amazing views. We also have enjoyed Unit 5. Just bigger and more space for us to breath. Unit 5 would also be great if we wanted to bring another couple because of their pull out couch. The only thing I would suggest is that they add binoculars in each room to check out sea life swimming by and such. Also make sure you bring your hairdryer ladies. I forgot mine hoping they might provide that. Each room does come with plate ware, silverware, wineglasses stove and fridge. Also TV and DVD. It’s décor is an assortment of interesting things with a German feel, but I come for the great view, prices and service!

When my wife and I go out to the coast, we like to stay in places that are a little bit different. There are hotels that offer the standard amenities and cater to a more suburbanite style of crowd, but I can stay at one of those places anywhere. At the coast, I want something a bit different. I want to be able to go there when the weather is not so pleasant and enjoy the coziness of a fire and just look outside the window with a fresh cup of joe. Overlook fits the bill nicely. We stayed in the upstairs room that faces the ocean, and it was both cozy and relaxing. I was able to shed my normal high-paced lifestyle in the networking world with the serenity of a small warm room that had the constant hum of the ocean crashing to the shore. However, I was also able to use the wireless network to plug in to the outside whenever I wanted. The staff was friendly and attentive. The hotel takes pets, but the only reason I don’t give 5 stars is that you have to essentially go down to the beach to let then do their business. There isn’t any grass nearby to simply take them outside. Not much of a big deal, and certainly not a dealbreaker. Access to the beach, however, was not too bad, unless you have a problem with a large number of steps. But this is standard operating procedure on the Oregon Coast. The other downside is the beds. They were comfortable enough, but they are very small for a couple. My wife and I had to sleep in different beds because I would have probably ended up pushing her over the edge due to the small stature of the bed and my… um…larger size. I would recommend this place to anyone who is looking for someplace to stay and doesn’t want to do a standard hotel/motel while on the coast.

Recently discovered this little Scandinavian hideaway built in the 1930’s. What a wonderful place to stay for the weekend. Tucked on a hill up high, the view was magnificent. We stayed in the Penthouse, unit 7. This place has tons of charm. Our room was filled with nautical delights from the 1970’s, complete with a cassette deck player. We also had a kitchen and our own killer balcony. Pets are allowed and we brought ours, it was delightful having our mutt with us. This place will be on our permanent rotation from now on. A great place to create some lasting memories.
