We love this place. If you want to pick your own blueberries, this is the place to go!
They will give you a ride to your favorite blueberry locations.
They sell donuts, popcorn, caramel apples and so on.
People who work there were nice too.

Gorgeous farm with an amazingly friendly helpful staff. Only thing I would suggest is a better gift shop. The donuts are to die for!

This place is almost surreal! I drove 1 hour from Portland on a Saturday, and passed by at least 3 other orchards along the way. Libby and Sons was well worth the drive! The orchard is quite large with trees heavy with Honeycrisp, Macintosh, and Cortland apples. They also had some blueberries and raspberries when I visited in early September. There are clean restrooms (not just port-​a-​pottys), fresh donuts, coffee, baked goodies, cute signage for photo opportunities, live music, and even food. I did not eat there, but the prices looked very reasonable for the burgers and hot dogs. This is a great place to bring the kids for a day of fun and a lifetime of memories.

I have never been apple picking. Not sure how I made it out of rural NY and living in Maine for as long as I have without doing so. But it was exactly what I wanted it to be.
This place is great if you have kids in tow or people that might not want to hike up a hill — they have great golf carts to take you where you need to go. And if you ask, they just might take you up to the top of the hill so you can get a glorious view of the land. It’s a stunner. In fact, the first thing that came to mind — this would be a great place to elope. (Settle down, no one is doing that any time soon.)
The Macs and the Cortlands were huge and heavy on the trees, and fun fact: the best apple pies are made of half and half of these varieties.
I also picked a pint of raspberries. They were so good, I could not think of baking them in anything because eating them right away while they were so good and luscious seemed to be the only way.
The cider donuts were hot and fresh, and I showed extreme will power not buying 3 dozen to go home with. I did grab a caramel apple for later… and it was perfection.
Libby & Son might feel out of the way — but well worth the trip. Go before 12, before it gets crazy!

Okay, full disclosure and slight ramble so that everything is on the up and up per Unilocal policy. I work (and really like and am work friends with) the wife of one of the sons in Libby and Son. HOWEVER, I can promise you my rating is not impacted by this connection. In fact, as I sit here eating the most delicious honey crisp that is bigger than my fat maine coon cat’s head and dripping it all over my keyboard, I have spent the last TEN minutes attempting to find something even slightly wrong with this business so I could justify giving it four stars to PROVE that my review isn’t biased. Why? Because I am crazy. I can’t find ANYTHING that could make me want to give it less than a five star rating and I’m not going to give it four stars just because I happen to have a faint and nebulous connection. I live on the wild side…

Reasons why I love this place:
–apple picking with amazingly huge and beautiful apples that are delicious (Is it bad to eat four apples in one day? Yes? Okay, I will not go get another one.)
–outside without the ick factor (I am NOT an outdoor person by nature and I don’t really like dirt, bugs, etc. While sadly it is not possible to go apple picking in a concrete wind tunnel, the property is well maintained, clean, trash free, not stinky, etc. They also have a real life parking area with defined spaces. I hate parking in fields. I acknowledge that I am a bit of a city brat.)
–they also have blueberries and raspberries (and peaches and plums, but not right now)
–There are little cart/​people movers to drive you around, so there isn’t a ton of walking. We had a tour via cart thingamabob and then walked back (it wasn’t that far and I felt I needed to burn as many calories as possible because…)
–APPLE CIDER DONUTS (and blueberry): These were amazing and incredible and I ate it so quickly and was sad but THEN…
–APPLE PIE SMOOTHIES (which I split with Celeste as to not be TOO much of a fatty)
They also have a musician who was playing all the instruments and singing. I have heard/​seen pictures of face painting. I saw but did not partake of hamburgers and hot dogs and apple cider (I was full after pigging out on a smoothie and a donut).
It should be noted that this is a cash/​check only establishment, HOWEVER there is an ATM. Or you could just bring cash. Or you could be my mother and still carry around a checkbook with you (hashtag old school).
Is it worth the 45 minute drive? YES
Am I going back again? YES
Is it a definite five stars? YES
Am I going to go get another apple to eat as I pretend to proofread my review? YES!!!

Wonderful fields full of fruit; blueberries, raspberries, apples and sometimes amazing peaches! Nice Family run business that has fun for kids. (golf cart ride to the fields) plenty of clean restrooms, refreshments for sale (or bring your own) and even live music some days. Prices have gone up in the past few years but the excellence of the experience, cleanliness and service still makes it a great experience and Well worth the drive!

I was inspired to check out Libby & Sons U-​Pick after seeing an ad on TV. What’s that I hear? They have apple cider donuts? I’m trying to visit all the apple orchards in the state of Maine, and this, L&SUP, has just moved you up on my priority list! (After all, there’s nothing quite like a hot apple cider donut complimented with cold apple cider. Mmmm… donuts and cider… mmmm).
We had visited a couple other orchards before making our way to L&SUP, and had only mediocre experiences (I think the word we actually used was «meh») at each. Hoping to end our day on a high note, we checked out L&SUP around 2pm on a Friday afternoon. Upon arriving we were greeted heartily by an older women inside the white farm stand/​barn. She was very informative (though you could tell she had repeated the same information hundreds of dozens of time and was on auto-​pilot when speaking), and directed us through the building to the orchard in the back.
The back of the farm stand/​barn opened up into an extremely beautiful and well maintained orchard with mountains in the distance alive with the colors fall foliage brings. Definitely one of the prettier orchards I have ever been at (and just another gentle reminder about why I love the state of Maine)! There were rows and rows of perfectly groomed apple trees, each variety clearly and distinctly labeled. We meandered through the orchard totally impressed with the abundance of healthy, delicious-​looking fruit weighing down the branches of the trees. It was one of the easiest apple experiences I had ever had — our bag was filled within minutes because of the (literal) ripe picking! It made us want to come back to pick blueberries, raspberries, and peaches next year!
While we weren’t particularly won over by the staff (everyone seemed kind of disinterested, to be honest), we were charmed over by their love of their craft. There’s a board inside the building covered proudly with newspaper articles about Libby & Sons — and not just about the orchard, but about them as people, too. For some reason, we both really liked that simple touch!
Of course we ended our visit with a half dozen apple cider donuts. They were good (says the girl who shoveled two in her face in a matter of just minutes), but not the best in the state. I wish I had had the opportunity to try them when they were hot and freshly made, and not having had sat out for hours. Still, they were doughy and flavorful with just the right amount of cinnamon-​y dusting on the outside.
If you’re in Portland (or southern Maine) and are looking for an apple orchard to call home, I would highly suggest L&SUP! Not sure how busy they get on the weekend, but our little afternoon week day jaunt was exactly what we were hoping for!

This is the best orchard I’ve been to in my life. Outstanding variety of apples, raspberries, blueberries, and peaches. Transported to picking areas via golf carts. Great homemade apple and blueberry doughnuts! Available cider, hotdogs and hamburgers. Picnic tables next to a great singing entertainer. Just a beautiful area to enjoy a family outing! VERY friendly staff!

What an amazing place! The fruit speaks for itself. What makes Libby & Son so great is the atmosphere. As one person put it, «it’s like walking into blueberry land.» you are treated like they really appreciate your business, and want you there. You’ll love it!

What a find! This place is definitely worth the drive! We found this place by a google search and we are so happy that we did. We are staying at Old Orchard beach for the summer and really wanted to do some blueberry picking and took the 50 minute scenic drive out to Limerick!
The farm is absolutely gorgeous! Upon arriving we were given a box and two smaller boxes to pick our blueberries. Then we were escorted to a golf cart and whisked away to the beautiful blueberry trees that were packed with plump blueberries for our picking! The farm is absolutely pristine. We picked away for a good hour and half and then just walked around and checked out the apple trees that we definitely will be back to pick from in Sept.
The best part of the day was we got to listen to some beautiful music while we picked our blueberries from a live one man guitarist «The Countryman» playing away! It was amazing! When we got back we bought some blueberry donuts. You could choose from plain or with cinnamon sugar. The blueberry donuts are delicious!!! You could also buy «kennel corn».
There were also hotdogs and numerous snacks. For very cheap prices. This was by far THE BEST place My Husband and I have ever been to pick blueberries ever.
The staff was amazing and the place is top notch. I cannot wait to go back no matter how long the drive is… I saw a sign for candy apples, too! Now you’re talking! Thank you for a great day. I have a bunch of pictures I will post today!!! YOU MUST GO TO THIS PLACE! You will be happy you did!!!
