Red Carpet Inn & Suites

My buddy and I stayed in this place while we were in town. It was late at night, all the other hotels were booked up and we had nowhere else to go. Well, we should have slept in the car – it was much cleaner. My friend checked in and the clerk kept talking about how elegant the room was. (Red flag). He charged my friend for both nights – up front. Most hotels I’ve been in charge at the end of your stay. Our receipt was barely the size of the palm of my hand. Most hotels give you a full sized sheet that lists what you were charged for. He said he would unlock the side door so we could get to our room at the other end of the hall easier. Upon closer inspection of the door and in spite of a sign saying it would be locked between 11pm and 6 am, there was NO WAY TO LOCK THE DOOR!!! No keyhole – just silver disks where a keyhole should have been. We walk in and the hallway was dirty and smelled worse that some college dorms I’ve been in. One of the doorknobs had crime scene tape tied to it. We walked into our room and the musty, moldy smell nearly knocked us over. The room was not only out of date but very run down. We got the chance to see some of the other customers of this establishment and I seriously thought there was either drug use or prostitution going on. I pulled back the top blanket and because it was so old, there was lint everywhere. The remote looked as if it had been chewed up, but that didn’t matter because there was NO CABLE – just snow. My friend slept on top of her robe and I slept in my clothes – on top of the old blanket. We refused to stay another night and I’m pretty sure we won’t be able to get any sort of refund since me and the desk clerk ended up having a shouting match the next day.
