Once again, I made the mistake of trying a Lima salon. I normally get my cuts from Alison at Strange Beauty Show in Chicago. She’s the best. I live for her haircuts. No one is better. However, it had been a month since I had a haircut, and I won’t be in Chicago for another month. My hair was getting a little bulky, so I decided to try getting it cleaned up locally. I mean, how hard is it to clean up a cut? Thin it out a little, shorten up the bangs, take a tad off the back … I SAID A TAD. Two inches is not a tad. Thank you for the man bob. Crystal, my first Lima stylist since the F/X Salon debacle, felt my hair had a mullet-like appearance, so she took the back up way too far. She cut my sides uneven and, when asked to thin out my sideburns, shortened them above my earlobes. The entire cut was a disaster. Again, I’ll give the stylist the benefit of the doubt. She did ask if I wanted a little off the back, and I did ask her to trim my sideburns. She just did it to the extreme. I won’t go back to Illy Swank. And if you need me, I’ll be nursing a bruised self-image.
