Define Hair Studio & Associates

I visited this salon a few days ago for a standard fade and trim to make sure that I would look sharp for holiday photographs. Unfortunately, I ended up with the worst hair cut that I have had in several years.
The hair cut is terribly uneven, the fade is sloppy and the experience was downright awkward. Plus, I think $ 18.00 is pretty steep for a cut with no wash.
I picked this joint because I had fond memories of Yellow Tuesdays (previously operated out of this location). Also, I wanted to avoid mall-​based salons and Great Clips to ensure that I got a competent hair cut… but, I picked wrong. I ended up with an overpriced hack job.
Gentleman, if you are looking for a solid hair cut… I would really think twice before you sit down with Dominique at Define Hair Studio.

UPDATE: Back in January of 2014 I received a call from my stylist Dez (the wonderful person listed below) and she told me that the stylists had all walked out because of lack of payment… I was saddened to hear this news but was over joyed to learn that this group would be opening their own salon! Studio 34 Design Team opened shortly thereafter and I couldn’t be happier knowing that I didn’t have to give up the gem of a stylist! Go see the stylists at Studio 34 you will not be disappointed!

¹¹⁄₂₀₁₃ –I just recently moved to Lima from Boston and prior to that we lived in NYC… I’ve had my hair cut by some self proclaimed experts and I’ve paid top notch for those hair cuts. My experience at DeFine was a good one.
I desperately needed my eye brows waxed and my hair cut so I looked for a salon that did it all. I called on a Thursday and was able to get an appointment scheduled for that Saturday! My first immediate thought when I walked in the door was WOW this is a pleasant surprise. I wasn’t expecting a salon in the area to be as nice. I was quickly greeted by the receptionist who asked that I fill out a new client form. After this was completed I met with my stylist/​waxer. She had a great personality and was easy to chat with. She asked me what a typical day looks like and then proceed to provide suggestions for my cut. She did a great job!
My stylist also waxed my eye brows, lip & chin and made it a pleasurable experience… well as pleasurable as it can be while your having hair ripped from your face :-)
My only complaint about my experience is that some of the stations were dusty and looked like they hadn’t been wiped down in a few weeks… there was hair left on the floor from other cuts… if these items were taken care of I would give this place an 5 start rating.
