The Barn Smokehouse

This is my new go to place for barbecue. I’d heard this place was good, but it’s not. It’s GREAT! The ribs are unbelievably tender and fall right off the bone. The ¼ rack is huge. These are not the wimpy ribs you get at other restaurants.
I tried all five sauces and they were all very good. Mustard, Vinegar, Hot & Spicy, Sweet & Tangy, and Original. Mustard is my favorite.
The corn soufflé is available once in a while, and luckily I was able to try it. It was fantastic. I’m going to be craving this food again soon!

I wanted to live this place. I really did want to. I’ve been on the hunt for a BBQ place that has great stew, great brisket and great ribs. Also a place that is open seven days a week. This place is open 7 days a week but lacks the great ribs, stew and brisket.
There is plenty of parking and when I walked in I was greeted right away. The staff was very nice and personable. I ordered the two meat plate with ribs, brisket, stew and corn soufflé. I ordered to go and my bag was ready quickly. I could tell there was a lot food in the bag because it was so heavy
When I arrived home and unpacked my bag there were 4 huge ribs and two huge greasy messy gelatinous slabs of brisket that were disgusting and soupy.
The ribs were tasty and the brisket was disgusting. I took one bite and gave one bite to each of my dogs.
The stew was had a very spicy tomato taste to it. If I didn’t know any better I would think there was a bunch of Sriracha in it. I couldn’t eat but two bites of it.
The corn soufflé was good. I ate the most of it.
You also had a choice of Texas toast or corn bread. I chose the bread which was overly buttered and gooey.
The good points were the good service, large amount of food for $ 14 and the corn soufflé
Give it a try and see if you find anything you like.

Family stopped by for lunch while visiting Lilburn for a soccer tournament. It was an excellent choice! They made grilled cheese sandwiches for the kids, even though it wasn’t on the menu. The adults had pulled pork, brisket and chicken, all of which were cooked perfectly. Between all of us, we sampled most of the sides (corn soufflé, cole slaw, baked beans, you know, the basics) and all were great. While we were there, the police came in to eat. You know you’ve stumbled on the good local joint when the police eat there! Try the banana pudding, it’s to die for.

This place caught my eye. I didn’t even know anything was on this spot previously. My girlfriend loves BBQ and I took her hear to bribe her into doing something I wanted to do. On first impression after walking in the door, I thought i had made a mistake. Typically when I walk through a line and order my food that’s sitting on warmers already waiting for me. I immediately expect it to taste old and fake. I judged… yeah, I did. Now, I also realize that no good BBQ place is going to quickly prepare my food from scratch once i order it. Good BBQ takes hours, i just dont want to see it sitting in a hot pot under a light. anyways…
Turned out, the food was GREAT. Fresh, tender, juicy, full of flavor. Cole Slaw was great! We asked another patron on her way out if it was good. She said, «great, and make sure you try the slaw». So I did and was glad.

My husband and i went here for the first time we’ve been driving by it for years and we decided to stop for a dinner date and we were very glad we did it was unreasonably priced they give very large portions and the service was supper friendly and welcoming

All the meats here are perfect, ribs, chicken, and pulled pork. Nothing fancy, just great tasting and the most tender meat I’ve ever had, so good we came back twice in 3 days.

We set up a business lunch and learn. We ordered brisket, smoked turkey, hash brown potatoes, baked beans and a beautiful salad and banana pudding to top it all off. Everything was perfect including the tea. Delivery was on time. We will order again for future events.
Thank you Beverly for all your help. This luncheon was important to us.

Tried it out after the change from Spiced Right. Had told family members that Spiced Right was a favorite, told them that it had changed. So we visited the Barn Smokehouse this evening. As we left the car, my wife commented «wonder if they still have the same kitchen and wait staff»…entered and surprise… SAME FOLKS!!! Told them that we glad that they were there. Noticed the change in décor and music so on to the food… my wife enjoyed her pulled pork and I enjoyed my brisket and we both enjoyed the veggies.
As I left I told the folks, «new wrapper, same great candy!» Will be looking forward to bringing our family when they visit town.

The food is great! We love barbecue and know we can go here to have a great meal. We are always greeted with a smile. Keep up the great work!

After going too spiced right since i was a little kid. And then watching it slowly decline at the end of its business life. It’s good to see that someone took over that knows what they are doing. Swung by for lunch today and got the dinner plate so i could get some ribs and some brisket. Any one can cook a butt. Ribs and brisket are where the skills at. So to start off that brisket was on point! (If your from Texas come try this brisket) Nice smoke ring and literally fall apart meat. The ribs were moist and fall off the bone. Another plus for me was the selection of sauces. Sorry ladies i’m just not a one sauce man. They must of had 10 different sauces from the North Carolina vinegar to the South Carolina mustard to multiple red sauces from sweet to heat and every thing in between. To quote Arnold I’ll be back.

I went here expecting great smoked bbq as the sign would suggest. I walked up to order and infront of me was a warmer, in the warmer were sides that I truly didn’t recognize, I mean these sides were absolute mush. I ordered just the pulled pork no sides after viewing them. When I got home the pulled pork was tasteless and extremely greasy. I don’t believe the pork was smoked and had to be sitting in grease for some time. This place is over priced and I’ve had better pork at gas station stops.

I was skeptical about this place since the parking lot seems to stay pretty empty, but my husband and I thought we would give it a try since I work nearby. I was pleasantly surprised. I got the pulled pork sandwich with the corn soufflé and fries. The pulled pork was really yummy, as was every bbq sauce I tried. I also enjoyed the corn soufflé, but the fries were just ok — could have been crispier. Their sweet tea had just the right amount of sweetness. I do wish the price included the drink as $ 11 is a bit much for the meal I had, but I enjoyed myself nevertheless.

At the urging of my father who was craving BBQ, we gave this place a try. We actually had not been here since this place changed hands. All I can say is…
BRING SPICED RIGHT BACK!
We got there at 7:37, only to be told as soon as we walked in (by presumably the new owner) that they closed at 8 and to please try them again another time. Its not 8 yet. Its 7:37 and we are paying customers. But whatever, we went back to our original plan and went to Doo’s down the street.
Now, I will say this. We did have an instance (when it was still Spiced Right) that they told us they turn the fryers off about an hour before closing and that many items would not available. BUT, they still let us come in and order items that they were able to make.
The décor is cute though, so snaps for that. Not crazy about the queue line they put up though. Seems a bit much.

Walking in there were big signs on the walls one for regular dine in or take out the other for bulk orders.
The pick two meats and two sides was definitely worth the money at $ 12.99, choices today Smoked Turkey and Ribs with Collards and Fried Okra. The ribs (4) you could pull right off the bone and had just the right amount of pink from smoking. The turkey (2 slices) was flavorful and moist, my only complaint the collards they were cooked well but under seasoned. (Turkey is used in the collards and pork bone in the beans).
All sides are made in house as is the meat. Brisket is cooked overnight, the ribs about four hours and the turkey goes in about six a.m. so that it’s ready by 11:00 a.m. when the doors open. The meat is sauce free so go to the counter and choose one or three most are made in house my favorite being the spicy sweet.
