Be prepared to have your mind blown, and I don’t mean in a good way. The visit and meal might have been a pleasant experience, had it not been for the cashier/employee, who made the visit a complete and utter failure. We’re not sure if she was in training, confused, disrespectful, stupid, rude, or all of the above. I’d post her name but its doubtful she would still be working there after the fiasco we suffered the other day. Oh, the food was okay. It’s Popeye’s and not usually too terrible or SALTY — which is my usual complaint about fast food chicken joints. The dirty rice had just enough kick to make the drive worth it. And why did I have to ask for dipping sauce(with the bites), it’s not offered or automatically suggested !!! The saving grace of our visit, was a nice young man, who stepped in and basically saved the behind of the inept female cashier. He, while taking orders from the drive-thru customers, finished our order and had a smile the entire time. That guy deserves a raise ! we hope he gets one but won’t return to find out. Note on portion size: everything is SMALLER but the same price or more. Sad.

Once upon a time, fried chicken used to be inexpensive, large, and satisfying. A box or bucket of fried chicken was classic country comfort food and Popeyes was always the king of the hill in my top secret fried chicken ranking list…(popeyes, greater than churches, greater than KFC. The end.) Fast forward to today and you will see that, somehow, Popeye’s has found a way to ultimately suck. There is now an inverse relationship between the size of the chicken and the cost of the product! INVERSE! So… smaller chicken = bigger price tag! insane right?! Ultimately what I’m saying is… Popeyes no bueno cause small chicken, big price tag. New top secret fried chicken ranking list looks like such…(Churches, The end.)

This Popeye’s was the only one I’ve ran into that did deep fried turkeys on the spot after you purchased them. I tried it out, it was ok but it was a little too dry for my taste. I’ll just keep getting the regular cajun fried and heat up myself as it is very juicy and tastes very good! :-)
