If I could give this place negative stars I would. This restaurant is so fucking gross I would rather eat my own shit. I am disgusted that I even stepped foot into this restaurant. I have never written a bad Unilocal review in my life but this place is that bad.

Considering that this place I give it 5 stars for value, flavor and portion sizes. We ordered Sweet and sour spareribs, Char Siu Siaman, egg food young and the lo mien. Everything was delish. There is plenty of easy parking. It’s family owned and we were made to feel welcomed. We have eaten here before and will be back again!!! Enjoy!

Went 4 times again this trip.ONO. Best Katsu in Hawaii. Don’t understand why people are put off by this place.

Awesome little family joint kama aina food and chinese barbecue. The friendliest service around, SUPER reasonable prices and good food if you’re hungry in Lihue and don’t feel like scraping out your wallet definitely check out KCLII!

I had the mahi mahi asparagus special. It was under $ 10 and a great deal! The service was also excellent, as I only had to wait about 5 min. Good quality food for a good price, great place to stop for a quick lunch!

Love this place. The owners are friendly and helpful. The menu is huge so there is something for everyone. Prices are great and the portions are big. We usually eat here at least 3 times a week when we visit the Island. I mean where else can two people eat a meal for under $ 20 on Kauai. This is the perfect place if you have a large group of people and your on budget. The only reason i give this place 4 stars is because of the bathrooms(come on its kinda important) But i have seen worse places in San Fran. The food is always hot and freshly made. I notice there is a lot of take out action.

I want my money back. Their fried rice was so lightly fried that it was patently obvious to any reasonable person. While this place is one of the few restaurants open late in Lihue, you’d be better off eating McDonalds. The hygiene of this restaurant is poor, and I got a whiff of some strong chemical smell while ordering my food that put me off of the meal itself.

On vacation, starving, found KCL2 for lunch… good veggie and tofu stirfry-then I ordered a scoop of macaroni salad-because it is Hawaii & they have the best! But, one scoop wasn’t enough! I asked our waitress for another side & she laughed at me and brought back about 3 scoops! Cha-ching for me! Loved it! Plus, the Humane Society thrift store is next door which was great for cd’s for the rental car & a new beach book!

It was mediocre Chinese food. Quiet, dead, pretty clean. Not omg delicious, probably had msg in it. But not bad at all. We ordered the standards… chicken with black mushrooms, shrimp with green beans, half a roast duck, and sizzling steak tenderloin with bell peppers. Fyi they charge for both rice and tea per person.

Now I wasn’t expecting much because we just got off the plane and I would have eaten anything but the food here was actually pretty good. Had the chicken combo(BBQ and Katsu). The BBQ chicken was good, typical for local Hawaiian food. Now the katsu was the highlight of the meal. I was reading the other reviews while we were waiting and other people said it was dry — mine was perfect. Love the sauce they put on it too. The service was slow. They would bring out a plate or two at a time so don’t expect to eat at the same time if you are in a party of 4 or more.

We came here because Ohana Diner was closed, I ordered the BBQ Spare ribs plate, and the hubby ordered katsu. They drenched the katsu in their sauce, which didn’t taste bad, just different. We’d come back, just keep in mind it’s not the cleanest restaurant in town. Very local.

On Sunday, April 17, my sister, her bf, and my buddy were looking for Ohana Diner, but it was closed for the evening. In the same plaza was KCL, so we decided to give it a try. The inside seems a little dirty, but not too many places were open for dinner. I ordered a mix plate with chili. The chili was kinda runny and spicy. The teri beef was the best part, as it was tender and had good flavor. I was surprised, as it didn’t look like anything special. My sister had beef stew and it was tough meat. Other than the 4 of us, there was one other guy who ordered a take out item. Not sure if that means anything or not.

Ordered ala carte… Chicken Katsu was really dry. Sweet sour spareribs was chewy, wasn’t cooked throughly for tenderness. Mos def going to another KCL…

Tasty! Huge menu, lots of variety and very good prices. Found this little gem on our last night in Kauai. We were driving around before heading to the airport looking for a bite to eat. Not much available in Lihue on a Sunday night(we discovered). Found this place across the street from McDonald’s(thank goodness we found this instead of eating at Mickey D’s!!). Very friendly, great service and really good food! Cheap too. Huge portions. We were in and out in 45 minutes. Will definitely come back on next trip. I think they also have a restaurant in Kapaa town(?).
