Ruth Stocksdale Park

My husky twins are excited the moment we park the truck! I’m obsessed with this dog park. Favorite one in the Kansas City area that I’ve been to so far. Very clean and well maintained. There are two separate areas – of course there’s one for small friends and bigger friends. The small dog area is very small in comparison though. I’ve noticed every pup «parent» is friendly and really chips in when it comes to the furry ones – whether it’s playing games, water duty, or giving extra lovins – I love coming here.
I will say, I hope in the future there’s a limitation on bringing children to dog parks (I think it’s dangerous). Despite exposure, my female is very skiddish when it comes to children and will snap if she feels threatened. There tends to be quite a few small children here so please be aware when bringing your dogs here.

Very nice park for hiking and biking. The park is getting more use year by year (frisbee golf coming soon!) and as a result more careless littering. The City of Liberty needs to create more awareness regarding proper trash disposal.

Bikers, hikers, runners, & dogs lovers all enjoy Stocksdale. The new dog park is always filled with furry friends ready to play. We love taking our dog here to run around. The mountain bike trains aren’t super extensive but there are challenging curves and they are well maintained. The area is used by the high school for cross country races so there are off-​road running trains along with a paved nature trail and kid’s play ground. Definitely work checking out for any outdoor enthusiasts.

Stocksdale offers a playground, an off-​leash dog area, a few pavillions, and a horseshoe complex (indoor and out). There is also a paved figure 8 loop to walk back into the woods for a mile or so. The real feature for me is the Walnut Woods side. The trailhead for over 6 miles of spaghetti noodle-​twisted singletrack intertwined with several more miles of cross country trails is just beyond the horseshoe barn. Some of the finest beginner and intermediate trails for mountain biking in the area are here. I ran the entire trail system today with my beloved and it is a real treat.
