Despite wanting to support local stores over corporate chains, I can’t recommend Great American under its new ownership, NSA Supermarkets. Out of a 23 item order, avocados and cherry tomatoes I bought there were found spoiled on arrival home. Since I don’t live near the store, I froze them to preserve their condition and brought them back 4 days later. The owner flatly refused to refund the items, saying they have a strict 24-hour policy on produce. His willingness to lose a repeat customer over a $ 6 refund and sidestep the obvious quality problem makes their customer service philosophy unacceptable.
