The Collegiate Kentucky

Let me start by stating that I renewed my lease without hesitation. For the most part, I have really enjoyed living at the Collegiate. I previously lived in 525 Angliana (unfortunately right next to the construction while the Collegiate was being built). When I read the dimensions of the one-​bedroom apartment, I thought it would be extremely small. For some reason, I went ahead and took the hard hat tour and loved the apartment. The high ceilings make the apartment look way more spacious, and the appliances fit in the space perfectly. All the appliances, countertops, and furniture look really nice and modern. The apartment also comes with a nice-​sized television that I certainly would not have went out and purchased on my own.
I think that the staff is really nice and helpful as well. When I have had any issues, they have sent maintenance right over, which was an issue at 525. They pretty much always answer the phone, which was an issue also at 525. Sometimes have a college student staff can go sour, but whoever picked these people did a pretty satisfactory job. I also have had a good experience with Management. If you pay your rent on time, they can be flexible with you during those times when you may be a little late. They also have had good resident events when I have been able to attend.
I will note that as far as the actual building, over the winter break I came back and parts of my building had flooded. I had not received any notice about it. The construction workers fixed it although at inconvenient hours at time. I do like the fact that the apartment doors are located on the inside of the building because it just seems safer. They also have a building where pets are prohibited if you are not very fond of animals or just think they may too much noise.
Also, if you are a graduate or professional student, you may be hesitant to live at a place like the Collegiate simply because it may be a little noisy for you. So be strategic in choosing your apartment location. However, I have not found it to be extremely disruptive and neither has my friend who lives in a different location of the complex. Also, if there are people being loud in the hallways, if you go into your bedroom and shut, you can pretty much eliminate all the noise. I have found the Collegiate picked better places for their dumpster locations because they are rarely overflowing like at 525. Cigarette butts can be an issue, but the staff has put up signs and makes an effort to stop residents from littering.
So, I would recommend the Collegiate especially if you are a person like me that does not want to invest in furniture because you move so often. The price may seem expensive, but if you compare it to the price of other apartments plus the cost of amenities, it can be the same or even cheaper. Plus, it is brand new. It is not perfect but no place is. As long as the residents are accountable and respectable to the shared spaces, I think you will rarely complain about your experience.
