Due to going to another restaurant that was suppose to be open and wasn’t. I/we went to our go to fast food restaurant

I love their food. It is always good. I would give more stars but the service is almost always horrible. It seems they are always short staffed so the waitresses cannot take care of you. So once you get your food you’re pretty much on your own so make sure you don’t need a refill or anything.

This Steak N Shake is near my house, this was my first time utilizing Steak N Shake’s online ordering, and I must say it was seamless! I was impressed how user friendly the online ordering system was(better than many other chains that have offered online ordering for much longer). I ordered 2 breakfast meals for my husband and I to share — the Homestyle breakfast and the blueberry pancakes. First, let me say I like that on the«breakfast favorites» you have many options from which you can choose. For the Homestyle breakfast I ordered 2 eggs over easy(options here are any style of eggs — scrambled, over hard, over easy, or sunny side up), with shredded hash browns(you can also choose hash rounds), sausage(they serve Tennessee Pride but you can also order bacon if you prefer), and a bagel(your bread chooses are white, wheat, or rye toast, buttermilk biscuit, 2 buttermilk pancakes, or a plain bagel). The Homestyle breakfast was tasty and exactly what I wanted on a lazy Saturday morning. Next was the blueberry pancakes, I don’t see McDonald’s selling these in the drive thru. Anyway … it was 3 large and delicious pancakes filled with plump blueberries with a side of blueberry syrup. The only thing that was missing here was more blueberry syrup and the they forgot to put the whip cream on top as pictured on their website :( It was refreshing to order a large breakfast online, pick it up at the drive thru in your pj’s, and it not taste like fast food but more on the level of Cracker Barrel, Bob Evans, and dare I say IHOP! All this for the bargain price of $ 7.93(you can apply coupons online).

I haven’t been to Steak and Shake in many years(because it’s not near the places I go frequently). This location was PACKED during our visit. Since it was noon on New Years Day and many other restaurants were closed, this wasn’t much of a surprise. We waited a few minutes to be seated. The service was prompt and friendly. The food was tasty and this chain publishes their nutrition information, which is always an advantage as far as I’m concerned. The only frustration to this visit was standing in line for about 10 – 15 minutes just to pay! There were two registers, but only one employee cashing out customers, and that employee would step away every couple of minutes to go fetch something from the kitchen to take to a patron at the counter. Perhaps it’s a snap judgment on my part, but she should have had some help with the register. In fairness, for all I know, they may have been short-handed because an employee had an emergency. This is not the kind of thing that would make me decide to eschew this place in the future, but it’s something the management should know about so they can have a better plan in the future.

My son LOVES this place! He really enjoys every aspect of it from the stuff they give kids, the milkshakes, and the burger and fries! We have never seen this place without a crowd. I never heard of steak n’ shake until we moved here and boy is it popular. I do think the burgers are good and the fries too! Who doesn’t love a good burger frie combo sometimes!!! I had their chicken salad last time I came and well I was not a fan. Next time I’ll skip trying to be healthy and just get the burger!

I’m not a picky person usually but I just couldn’t get over how horrible my experience here was. We ordered two different types of milkshakes(peanut butter and Oreo) and they gave us vanilla for both and just sprinkled different toppings on them. My boyfriend and I immediately noticed my order of chili cheese fries wreaked severely the moment I opened it, but I thought maybe it would taste normal. Well it didn’t. It literally tasted like one of the employees had just puked in it. I spent the rest of my night trying to get the taste of old, puked on chili cheese fries out of my mouth.

Food is pretty good. However they are very slow and the drive thru is painfully slow. If there were separate boxes for speed by comparison w other fast food restaurants they would get one star.

Pretty good for fast food. The burgers are pretty good, juicy, the fries are way way too dry though. I like their melt sandwiches. Their milkshakes are the BEST! Main complaint is the drive through takes WAY too long. Overall good food though & nice service.

No. Never again. This restaurant was FILTHY — floors, tables and seats — and the food was mediocre at best. I had a chili cheese dog with fries and my friend had a bacon steakburger and a shake, and none of it was good, even by fast food standards. Table servers are completely unnecessary in a place like this; counter service would have been much more efficient. I would not eat here again.

I normally visit probably once a month in the drive thru. It was a Thursday night and my little sister and I decided to dine in. We were never waited on. At all. We waited there standing for about 5 minutes. The manager even looked at us, but he was at the cash register. Another family walked in front of us to go to the register, which is fine, we weren’t ordering to leave, we were dining in. I made eye contact with numerous staff members and all ignored us. The sign says«Please wait to be seated» but no one ever sat us. I grabbed two menus and sat at the booth closest to us for about five minutes and no one came. This is awful service and I guarantee that I won’t be back. I understand that Steak and shake can be busy, but not so busy that you forget and ignore customers and leave them with a terrible review of your restaurant.

You know what?! I hate you! Yes. I hate you. I have only like 8 more items to try on your menu before I have tried everything and I will be happy after I am done. Spicy chicken sandwich = a spicy chicken patty between two buns??? No lettuce, tomato, or condiments? What century is this? You might as well have taken it LITERALLY and put sand on the patty. That would have been an IMPROVEMENT! UGH! Good thing i also ordered an Apple Harvest Salad. I had to relocate a slice of a tomato and lettuce. They were both not happy about the move!

This place never disappoints! It use to be a hangout place for me and my buddies late at night when no one else seemed to be opened. The food is good with great prices! And if you make it between 2−4am their shakes are half off! As for the service its a hit and miss. Depends who’s working the graveyard shift lol.

This is honestly one of my favorite restaurants and one of the most deserving of a five star rating. The staff is more than friendly and the food has its own delicious taste. The milkshakes are awesome, the burgers are thin, the way I like them, and the fries thin and flavorful — my favorite of any restaurant.

I don’t eat red meat anymore, so that’s probably why if never been here before. We were in the area, hungry, and in a bit of a hurry, so I found myself here for the first time. It was a Saturday, around noon. When I walked in, people were standing everywhere. There was no organization and I had no idea where to stand. Some people had already put their name down, and others were waiting to be put on the list. The only way to figure out where the end of the line was to ask the people standing around if they were in line or if they’d already put their name down. Management really need to step up in the organization area. I seriously almost walked out and then a guy explained that the list moves fast. He was right, it was about five minutes after I’d walked through the door and I was seated. I really wasn’t expecting to be a restaurant, but it was more up that alley. The kind where you sit down, order from the menu and then waited on by a waitress. So if you’re not prepared to tip 20% then go thorough the drive thru. Also, it’s not a steakhouse, it’s a burger and shake place. Why they call it steak instead of burgers and shakes, is beyond me. I ordered a grilled chicken taco salad but I really wanted to try the fries, so I ordered those too. I forgot to ask for my dressing on the side as I usually do, but they didn’t douse it, so I was good. The next time I order it, I’ll ask for the tomato paste concoction on the side because I didn’t like it. Also, the lettuce wasn’t the freshest around, a bit browning in places, but I guess that’s what I get for ordering a salad at a burger place, right? The fries were shoe string size, you can pay an extra $.29 and have them seasoned Cajun, and a few other options. I started to choose to have mine seasoned with salt and vinegar but opted for the plain ones instead. I was expecting to pay $ 1.79 for a small fry, which is the price that the menu listed, but I was only charged $ 1.25 for the fries as an «add on» side. That was a nice surprise. Overall I had a three and a half star experience, but I’m not sure when I’ll be back to update it so I’ll round it to a four and leave the burger opinions to the next reviewer ;)

I’m From the west coast so I’ve never had Steak ‘n Shake. So glad we made it a point to try it. Went to dine in on a Thursday afternoon and it was packed! So we decided to do drive-thru. Service was fast and the good was delicious! I went with the number one combo and a chocolate milk shake. If you come here make sure you get a milk shake! Don’t just have a regular soft drink. Attitude of drive thru gal was meh. Just doing her job without being friendly or smiling.: / 4 stars for delicious and fast food!

I love the Steak and Shake chain. I think they have a great product at a good price. This 3* review came as a surprise to me. Pros: — Good Location — Good Food at a good price — Great parking Cons: — My wife’s shake was a small chocolate but was only half full. — My hot dog was very poorly made. It had pretty good taste but the look just was bad and showed a lack of attention to detail. I will definitely come back to this particular Steak and Shake and see if it was just a one time deal.

Burger joint in local area. Clean friendly service. Quick great for the kids. Reminds me of the older burger joints. I’m going to for my second time today. I’m going to try the milkshakes that have been highly recommended. Nolans fav restaurant I also saw they serve breakfast till 11. I’m sure it will be totally satisfying.
