Ride Studio Cafe

Incredibly good coffee. Variety of choices that you can only find in Italian counterparts, including cold brew :)
The concept looks like a cyclists gathering point, bicycles and cycling accessories are sold, which lowers down your expectations on the coffee, but here is a serious coffee place :)
Well educated service staff who knows their job well. Meticulous on the coffee preparation that you can always expect the same quality.

Stopped in for the first time yesterday and really enjoyed my visit. As the name denotes, this cyclist haven is bike shop, coffee/​tea stop and active wear boutique in all one.
The coffee/​tea bar is truly just that; a grab a stool and pull up to the counter kind of bar like you would find in a pub. There is also seating in front of the windows with views onto Mass Ave and the outdoor café seating, as well as a communal table. My decaf latte was delicious. Service was friendly and fast. Both baristas were willing to chat and share info about their products.
The selection of cycling clothing by Search and State (made in NYC) was good. Love the line. They also have Rapha, another brand I like. These are premium frocks at premium prices. There are also accessories by Pearl Izumi and other more approachable brands, price-​wise.
Perhaps most importantly, Ride.Studio.Café (RSC) is a fit center for custom Seven Bicycles which are hand made in Watertown. RSC has demo bikes and provides complete repair and installation services.
I spoke briefly with Patria. Don’t know if she’s an/​the owner, but she sure knows how to greet customers and make people feel welcome.
I’ll be back. And I hope to join one of their shop rides some day.

This place was such a fun find. I’m not a cyclist, but I have read many of the reviews and kept meaning to stop by. It was totally worth it and actually not as far away from my house as I believed. Downtown Lexington was adorable and this place fit right in.
I ordered an extra large croissant (lies: only one size… and that would be XL!!) it was delicious, but could’ve been a little more fresh.
I also had a latte with an extra shot. Also only one size, and it was delicious and the perfect size (about a medium). The latte art was a nice touch, always makes me smile. And the extra shot was amazing. The coffee was smooth and not bitter, just the way I like it.
The café is covered in bikes, bike parts and in back some guy was fixing bikes. A super fun blend of cyclist culture and an urban feel café. Loved it and I’ll definitely be back!

AWESOME El Salvador Kalita in a truly unique bike store/​Coffee House. In a sea of Dinkin Donuts exists this great little Island to escape to.

I’m a cyclist but really came for a coffee and a looksie around the shop. The shop itself is obviously a boutique shop and not your run of the mill sell you a well known brand kinda place which I’m totally cool with. They had some nice Search and State clothing as well as mavick and another brand I can’t recall. However I couldn’t really get that close to it as there were bikes literally stacked everywhere (like just come out of the service department and ready for collection). It felt super cramped with ‘stuff’ everywhere. The coffee area felt bigger than the bike area, with lots of seating and a massive weirdly high counter. The coffee was a bit of a let down, cappuccino that just wasn’t nice with an unusual taste I can’t describe, they had croissants and cookies which looked tasty though.
I was expecting a very hipster vibe but that wasn’t even it. Overall just not a great experience and wouldn’t be back.

I’m not a cyclist, but a local friend recommended it, so we met here when I was passing through town. Amazing cup of coffee! We had the Chemex for 2 made with El Salvadoran beans. Yielded 2 large mugs of deliciousness for $ 7.
The only drawback for this non-​cycling girl? The shop smells like tires. We sat in the sidewalk café tables, which meant traffic noise, but the experience was overall great! I would definitely come back if I were in the area.

This place has one of the more black/​white Unilocal review distributions I’ve ever seen. I’ll throw my two pennies in. I lived in the area for all of 2014, and it was my closest shop.
This place is pretty unique. They combine high end coffee with high end bikes. The owner is a legend in the custom bike industry (founder of Seven Cycles), so it’s not a surprise that they don’t carry a major brand.
A lot of the reviews trash RSC for the type of shop that they are. These guys specialize in building your dream bike. They don’t stock a ton of service inventory… because that’s not what they do. There are plenty of other traditional shops in the area that «do that». RSC is a place to go to drool over beautiful Seven and Honey bikes in the showroom, pick up Rapha gear (if that’s your thing), and get a killer coffee or light meal. The bike staff are bike experts, and the café staff are coffee experts. If you are looking to get your coffee in under 45 seconds, go across the street to Peets or Starbucks. RSC demand that their staff are passionate about what they do. For them, it’s equal parts product and craft. Have there been times when I thought that they were taking themselves too seriously? Sure… but I recognize that it’s mostly due to my prejudice against skinny jeans. That’s on me… not them.
I’ve been on more than a few of their shop rides (road, fast road, cross, mtb)… and it’s not hugely different than anywhere else. The «soul» of group ride is dictated by the participants. Were there some kitted riders who were a little full of themselves (just like everywhere else)? Sure. Were there a disproportionate number of bikes that cost over $ 10K? Sure. But on the days when you have the legs to put down the hammer… everyone gives props. It’s all good!
For me, the only 5 star shop on earth is my hometown shop (Rose Bike, Orono Maine)… but I’m more than a little biased… Let’s put it this way… since I’ve moved to DC… I’ve been hoping to come across a shop like RSC… haven’t found it yet… and it has contributed to my growing waistline!

I don’t ride bike but I feel this is a great hipster coffee bar with decent coffee. Be sure to try their cinnamon roll if you’re not a fan of cinnamon… I know this sounds weird, but their cinnamon roll is actually very nutty and crunchy and just enjoyable.

I had a great latte here. I’ll definitely come back here to try the bread (¼ the price of SF toast!).

This is a great shop. I’ve been coming here as a cyclist and as a fan of good coffee since they opened. You’ll see all kinds of cyclists enjoying a drink or a pastry here — casual cyclists, racers on one of the shops sponsored rides, and all types in between.
But the shop is not just for cyclists. So, if you’re a coffee fan and you happen to visit while a ride is leaving or returning, don’t be intimidated. The cyclists are all friendly and the shop will clear out fairly quickly. It’s also a great place to come and get a bit of work done if you need a break from the office.
The only types of people you won’t see here pretentious people — either about their bikes and their riding or their coffee.
There are two ways to rate the shop — as a café and as a bike shop, and I give five stars for both. The service on both sides is excellent. The bike staff and the baristas are friendly and knowledgeable about their respective crafts. Ride Studio Café is my bike shop of choice for service and my café of choice for coffee, cocoa, and snacks.

Coming to ride is a nice break from the typical chain coffee houses. It is also a lot of fun if you happen to like to ride a bicycle. (You don’t need to ride a bicycle to go.)
You come here to sit down and savor your drink. This is not the place to stop, order a fast drink, wait for your name to be called, and leave with a drink in a paper cup. Instead, this is where you go to come in, relax with some people, order from the counter and wait as your custom drink is delivered to you.
I really like the vibe. A few old wooden tables with chairs in the middle. (Perhaps not enough for a big group.) Lots of wooden beams are visible. The first thing you see on the right are a few bicycles and bicycle accessories. Not too many. In any other place it would be filled with coffee paraphernalia. Here it is riding gloves, lights, etc.
Two of us came in on this cold day during a miserable, snowy February. We ordered an Espresso and a cuppa Earl Grey. The drinks were made carefully and delivered at the right temperature. (Starbucks is too hot.) And, yeah, in a ceramic cup.
My friend and I chatted for an hour or so. We never felt rushed. Nobody was wandering around looking for a table. Nothing like that.
I would say that it was a completely enjoyable experience and a lot better than the bunch of shops — Starbucks, Pete’s, etc. — that are also in Lexington.

Excellent cappuccino, they really take the time to do it correctly. Texture was rich and consistent throughout the drink. They used George Howell beans as well. The Chai latte is also very good; not overly sweet and with plenty of spice flavor coming through. I can’t say I’m an expert on macchiatos since I rarely order them, but I am a big fan of Ride’s. The steamed milk adds just a hint of creaminess to what is otherwise an intensely coffee flavored drink. I really need to order these more often.

Today was our 2^nd visit. My wife and I were riding through Lexington on our Burley tandem bicycle and stopped for capuccino.
I like the feel of the place. A wooden sign «coffee» suspended from an orange-​painted classic bike leaning against the building tells you that you have arrived. There are bicycles leaning against the building, in the bicycle rack, and against street sign posts. Bicyclists in spandex and folks in regular clothes are sitting in the café tables on a wooden deck that fills three former parking spaces on the side of Mass Ave.
Inside is the coffee bar, a working bicycle shop, and customer tables. On the wall is a big screen television where I watched the last stage of the Tour de France during my first visit.
The espresso is remarkable. It had an interesting flavor that was less dark, more nutty, than the standard Starbucks offering. The coffee roaster apparently rotates every 2 months or so. Presumably the espresso roast will rotate with the roaster. There are pastries in the cabinet and oatmeal on the menu — but the coffee is the focus.
While we sipped capuccino a mother loaded a 3 yo into a bicycle trailer, a 5 yo climbed onto her own bicycle, and the family coasted down Mass Ave. Two lycra-​clad guys snapped cleated shoes snapped into pedals of street bikes, stood and pedaled vigorously up Mass Ave. A bicycle mechanic with an apron looked for parts and discussed pedals with a customer.
My impression is that Ride Studio offers interesting espresso-​based coffees made with care that is more common in European shops than American coffee shops. They serve their coffee in an environment that is rich with the sights and sounds of bicycling pleasure.

Come for the bike ride, stay for some coffee, post ride.

Ride Studio café reminds me of San Fran… Good vibe, good layout, good Americano, nice barista. It’s really relaxed. If I lived close by, I think I’d become a regular.

Walked in here about a year ago with a friend from work and turned right around and walked out — I didn’t feel dressed appropriately as I wasn’t wearing bike spandex and cycling shoes.
HOWEVER. Today, I brought my dad (who is an avid cyclist) with me as a way to up my street cred, and thankfully we were able to blend in with the crowd. It’s a small place but it’s actually pretty cool because it’s essentially a bike store, repair shop, and adorable coffee café all in one. I got an espresso made with almond milk (a big plus, as not many places have almond milk!) and my coffee was really quite delicious.
My only actual complain was that the check out process took quite a long time. The guy at the computer (register?) took a while to process peoples’ payments and didn’t really give any indication of what was going on — he could’ve been on pinterest for all I know! Regardless, I hope to stop by for another delicious almond milk cappuccino sometime soon!

Fun Fun Fun! I am a biker and I love real italian coffee, so I was feeling very comfortable here!

So obviously this place has a lot of bikers (wc?) here. I’d say to a point it was a little intimidating walking in without being a bike rider or in rider gear. That said, it’s a local shop with Stumptown coffee which is delicious. Staff was good, prices were on the higher end. It as a little crowded when I got in but the waitress cleared a table for two. The two people sitting at the table were not polite enough to move their stuff when they saw me waiting but once the waitress helped it was fine. Overall, kind of small though and loud – not sure its the best place for a quiet talk but good for coffee.

A great concept that has improved over the years as a community has grown up around it, supporting regular rides for all levels. Jeff is great, and the «parklet» out in front is the best thing that’s appeared in Lexington in a decade.
So now, updating my first review back in 2010 — a great idea x4!

Funny place: the owner is passionate about bikes and coffee, so he opened a place where you can buy both. Riders also stop here to talk, have a drink, ask advice for their bikes.
Coffee specialists (the guys making coffee will know nothing about bikes and vice versa).
Tried their espresso and liked it a lot.
