Not the newest place in Lexington but absolutely good food and a GREAT price. Spicy potato wedges are awesome and the chicken is the best fried chicken in the area.

The wife and I are fans of both Richie’s and Indi’s but usually choose Richie’s because it’s drive-thru is more accessible. On this visit we ordered fried chicken, potato salad, baked beans, deep fried cauliflower, rolls, and cobbler. We enjoy the chicken and always order spicy. Our favorite pieces are thighs, legs, and wings. The breasts are sometimes a bit dry due to the heat lamps. Also, as another reviewer mentioned, the chicken is light on meat and heavy on breading. That’s not a problem for us but please be aware if you’re not a breading fan. We love both the macaroni and cheese as well as the greens but this time decided to try something different. The potato salad was good but a bit chunky(cut the potatoes smaller please) and the baked beans were very good. Love the rolls(just like Kentucky Fried Chicken used to serve over 25 years ago before changing to biscuits) and the potato wedges aren’t shabby either(very similar to those once served at Druther’s Restaurants). We like to order the deep fried cauliflower as an appetizer and eat it with sweet and sour or duck sauce(a dish formerly served at the«Taste of Chicago» festival). Lastly, both the Blackberry and Peach Cobblers were delicious but I’d rate the Blackberry a 7 and the Peach a 10. If you like Southern/Soul food then Richie’s should be right up your alley. Winner Winner Chicken Dinner!!!

Best. Chicken. Ever. Yes, there are no tables there. Yes, it is a rough neighborhood. I could not care any less about either. There is no better chicken, period.

Food is just like Indies on Broadway, it is tasteful, but the chicken we had, had no meat on it. It’s like your paying just for the breading.

Great fried chicken. I refuse to eat at the chain restaurants that serve fried chicken because I always find it greasy and gross, except for chick fil a. This local place is a much better choice. They have tons of different chicken and fish options and all the pieces are huge. Don’t expect to eat healthy but they really weren’t too greasy. I was a little concerned seeing the chicken all laid out under heat lamps. Also, since there is literally not one place to sit down inside or out, you have to take it home. Fried food does not hold up too well over time usually. However, this stuff was great. Perfectly crispy and hot and with the tender meat inside. I literally ate every bite. They let you mix and match and I ended up eating most of the cuts. Normally I don’t eat all the breast meat because the chicken inside isn’t that good but this was and I ate every bite. Go for the spicy, it’s not overwhelming but super tasty. They have tons of sides too. The potato wedges were huge and I was a bit skeptical but the breading was good and you could tell it was real potatoes made fresh. Only negative besides the no seating is the bad neighborhood. They do have a drive through also if it’s night and you don’t want to go in. Prices were very reasonable.

Richies satisfies the fried chicken craving — hot and crispy outside, succulent inside. I ordered the hot and spicy breast with a side of potato salad. It came with a roll — an honest-to-goodness biscuit would have been nice. About $ 4., so you can’t beat the price. I was told this is Indi’s brother, and I love Indi’s fried chicken! The one negative with Richies is the location. The area is a bit out of the way, and somewhat sketchy, but there is a drive-thru window. If you find yourself nearby, give it a go. Or go to Indi’s.

Best chicken joint in town! It’s not in the greatest area so that probably pushes a few people away but I say forget that and give them a try! For less the what you pay for a nasty hamburger from mcdonalds you get a chicken breast that is HUGE, plus they give you a humungus portion of sides and two rolls. The little older ladies that work there are the sweetest ladies ever! I absolutely love them! So basically I don’t care where they are located I would go in a heartbeat!!!

I much prefer Richies fried chicken over KFC or Lee’s. Their chicken is always flavorful, crispy and not at all greasy. I love their spicy fried chicken too. The sides arrested great, too. I’ve never been disappointed with anything from Richies. The only negative is the location. Georgetown Road and the surrounding area isn’t a great place to be late at night.

What more can you say from this place. Great fried chicken and sides to go with it. The spicy chicken is the way to go. I get the baked beans and Mac and cheese when I go. What really turns me off is that they are behind bulletproof glass because I guess the area is bad. Kind of sucks they don’t have any seating area to which kind of makes upsetting because if you just want to sit there and eat you can you bring much have to take it home. That was pretty much my thing about this place. But over all the food is so worth going for. I wish this place was in nicer areas so you could have a a sitting area.

Without a doubt THEBEST fried chicken in Lexington. Tender where it’s supposed to be and crunchy on the outside. I always order the spicy for a little extra bite. The sides are amazing too.

I went back to Richie’s on a Saturday night, and the food tasted like it had been fried in very old fryer oil. The potato wedges were an unappetizing dark brown color and tasted like the chicken: Old, spoiled deep fryer oil taste permeated the food. Bummer. Change the oil more frequently please Richies!

Best fried chicken in town! I usually get the wings for game days, but today picked up 20 pieces each of the spicy & regular fried chicken for a work potluck. Within minutes of serving the chicken I had several staff ask me where I’d gotten the chicken because they loved it! It really is the best in Lexington, especially if you like spicy fried chicken!

Richie’s is a bit off the beaten path, but its menu is extensive and they have a little something for everyone. Some of the best fried chicken around. Just like grandma made, maybe even better. The spicy chicken will knock your socks off. Fast and friendly service.

My children wanted fried chicken from another large food chain that will remain nameless. I did not want to fight traffic, then I remembered seeing this place(I couldn’t remember the name) one day when I was taking a short cut from Price Road. I stopped… They have a large menu and are reasonably priced. I ordered a 16pc w/two sides(mashed potatoes w/gravy and Mac-n-cheese). They asked if I wanted spicy or regular. I asked if I could do half and half, he said sure. Pulled around, waited a few moments and I had my goodies and headed home. Let me just say that this fried chicken tasted better than my grandmothers. It wasn’t full of grease, it was crispy, juicy and very well seasoned. The sides tasted homemade, not from a packet. The chicken breasts are large and moist. You get an amply mixture of pieces. The spicy is my favorite. The large food chain will not see me again…
