I recommend anyone traveling through the Lexington airport try this place out. Not because it is outstanding, but for the mere fact that this place may have THE worst food served to the public in America(includes both continents). I think it’s good to experience horrifically prepared food only because it makes all other restaurants seem not so crappy. I had the pleasure of having a flight canceled and could not get service in the main restaurant. I was forced here and found it to be No Sanitation Sunday. My tacos were prepared by a bearded guy with no gloves, not to mention hair net. Between new toppings he would rub his hands on his pants. On top of that, he was even rude to a lady in front of me. When you’re at the Lexington airport you just have to accept the choices and pray your flight isn’t canceled. If it is canceled, go to Harry’s at Harrodsburg Rd and Man-o-War Blvd. and all will be good.

First off, this is an airport based tex-mex place in the Lexington airport… do not come here expecting high quality authentic Mexican cuisine. With the limited choices in this airport, I decided to try Peppers out due to my recent experience at the nearby taproom that served over priced chicken tenders with luke warm beer. But, this review is about the Mexican I received here and not the other places shortcomings… so, I digress and dive in here! You can either belly up to the bar or grab a table. You are served by the same person, the bartender. I ended up ordering the chicken nachos and my cohort ended up ordering a margarita. She was fairly impressed with her margarita and I was hungry, so my nachos hit the spot. The only thing I was a little thrown off by was the«chicken» part of my nachos… as in I had 4 small pieces of chicken throughout my dish. Again, it is an airport Mexican joint, so I just sucked it up and munched on what was provided. Overall, the service was good, pricing was better for the amount of food you get comparatively to the surrounding places and the food was what was expected. If in LEX again and craving a good margarita and a little tex mex, Peppers will do!

i don’t have high expectations when it comes to airport food. Tried to order the fish, Fish taco? fish burrito? sorry, no fish. –1 star. Ordered the mushroom burrito instead. –1 star for the guy who took our order(maybe he was having a bad day) «do you know about how long it will be?» «no, i have no idea» lol. um you know this is an airport right? people are going places… he seemed stressed and maybe hungover? this place was no where near packed, soo sorry my questions were inconveniencing you. Here you can order at the counter or sit at the table, after sitting for what seemed like 5 – 10 mins we finally went to the counter. I mean, honestly my orders get messed up all the time, its hard being a girl with a dairy allergy. I always say, no cheese, no eggs, I am allergic. Usually people listen, but somewhere between the order and the kitchen things frequently get messed up. This time the culprit was ranch sauce, ‘no ranch sauce, no dairy, no cheese, please, I am allergic’ but got served a burrito with ranch sauce. Luckily I checked it before running off to the gate. The ‘cook’ was in a super friendly nice mood, so apologetic about the problem and remade the food right away. Even gave me some extra guacamole in there. chips were just ok. kind of greasy. guacamole was just barely still good, you know that point where it starts to turn a little iffy? I love black beans tho, so that was a big plus. turns out the best thing we both ate here was the salsa. pretty delicious salsa, and friendly upbeat cook.
