Dr. Dimattia is just an amazing dentist. I recently moved and realized I’d have to switch dentists, and I’m so upset! That’s what made me realize I should write this review.
We originally started going to his office because he was local and had Saturday appointments, and the visits were always pleasant enough. But Dr. Dimattia himself is what really makes this practice special. He takes extremely good care of his patients, makes sure he knows everybody by first name and feels like a friend. He once scheduled emergency dental surgery for me THE NEXT DAY on a weekend after I called him because I was in so much pain. And when I have gotten routine fillings or other work done by him, you can’t even feel him and the work is beautiful. He is just the sweetest man. He gets really excited about the new «toys» he gets, like a camera so he could take a picture of my cavity, print it out right there to take home with me (not that I was extremely interested in that). And he gives all of his young patients Staples gift cards when they go off to college, even remembering to give me one after I didn’t go back from another appointment until months after college started.
I cannot recommend Dr. Dimattia highly enough, and am so sad to be moving on from him.

Let me start off with that I’m incredibly happy to not be writing the first review for Dr. DiMattia. I’ve been going to Dr. DiMattia for as long as I can remember. I even make the drive from the North Shore to Lexington to continue with such a tremendous dentist.
From the moment you enter you are greeted by the most lovely women working the front desk. On certain days even Dr. DiMattia’s wife is working. They remember most patients by name and will inquire about family, work etc.
I usually see Joan for my cleanings. She books quickly because she is awesome. She does such a thorough job but you don’t feel like your teeth have been assaulted. You leave saying wow so that’s what they’re supposed to feel like. Again Joan has worked for Dr. DiMattia for years. Having employees that stick with a dentist I think show the character of the professional. You can tell his employees hold him with high regard and so do his patients.
Dr. DiMattia is personable and most importantly honest. You’re never talked into unnecessary xrays, this that or anything else. Dr. DiMattia is incredibly fair on the prices he charges too. In this day and age when a good dentist is hard to find and many people fall victim to gentle dental or other national chains it’s nice to know that Dr. DiMattia takes the Hippocratic oath to heart.

FULL DISCLOSURE: Paul DiMattia is a relative of mine, and one that I consider a friend as well. I normally wouldn’t write something like this, for conflict of interest purposes, but I feel strongly enough about this man and his work that I’ll risk my credibility to say this.
Dr. DiMattia does terrific work. He has a friendly, highly proficient staff that treats their patients very well. He is terrifically competent, and has taken care of my teeth for many years now with skill and very little pain.
He is also, in my humble opinion, one the nicest, most decent people I’ve ever met. And that comes through in his work.
It’s not just that he takes good care of your teeth, it’s that he takes good care of the entire patient. He’ll tell you what he’s doing, and why. He spends all the time you need explaining the procedure, answering questions, and doing his best to put you at ease before, during and after. He’ll make sure that the job gets done right, whether he does it himself or referrs you to someone he thinks can do something better. And he’ll do the whole thing with humor and good cheer!
