I can say one thing: the roast beef sandwhich convinced me to come out of vegetarianism, promise! Purchase a loaf of the bread and I guarantee you will eat half before even making it home! My family tells me the rest of the food is awesome but can’t bring myself to go there and not eat the roast beef, every time.

This was my first visit and had the recommended roast beef sandwich and hot chips. It was very good. I look forward to trying other menu items in the future!

love, Love, LOVE the Roast Beef Sandwich!!! The meat is always juicy and tender. The slaw always fresh and the yeast roll adds enough buttery richness to make you swoon when you bite into the sandwich. I love to pair this with the Hot Chips and their blue cheese dressing and an ice cold Cheerwine soda. You can also have a salad with the roast beef on it; which is delightful as well. Main Street Deli is one of my most favorite places to eat in Lexington!

Pretty disappointed after seeing all of the great reviews. Based on a few reviews I ordered the roast beef sandwich. The waitress confirmed«it is what we are famous for». It arrived as a sandwich that looked like it was made with 2 – 3 streak’ems. Not shredded as a previous reviewer stated. I can only assume they no longer make the same sandwich. Any taste came from the mayo and slaw they lathered on the bread. We also ordered onion rings that were obviously frozen. Kids ordered a cheese pizza that tasted like a box kit. I was highly disappointed that the food was this bad after reading so many great reviews. On a positive note, the waitresses were great. Very attentive, water glass never went dry and dishes were picked up right away. Unfortunately, based on the food we had, I will not return.

I was working at a client site in Lexington and wanted to find a good place to eat within walking distance, so my co-worker and I ended up at Main Street Pizza & Deli. We decided to start with a cup of New England Clam Chowder. This was not the best chowder I have ever eaten, but it was reasonably good.(3 stars) I decided to also order some onion rings and a salad with chicken. I was not impressed with the onion rings. They tasted like frozen rings.(1 star) Next time, I would skip this item. The salad was ok but not great. It was a basic salad with deli-style chicken sliced on top.(3* s) I ordered the low-fat vinegarette dressing and it was not good.(2*s) My co-worker got a roast-beef salad with blue cheese dressing & said the blue cheese was very good. I didn’t love my food on this visit, however, if I find myself in Lexington again, I may give these guys another try. I think I just ordered the wrong things. I really liked the warm, welcoming atmosphere… the place is very popular with the locals and you just get a «homey» feel when you walk in the door. Also, I found the service to be fast & friendly.

I have come to Main Street Pizza and Deli for as long as I can remember! Since I have moved away, I make it a point to come back here each time I am in town! I love their pizzas! They use this awesome sauce! I also love their curly fries, which I dip in the pizza sauce! Yum! :o) I know a lot of people love their roast beef sandwiches; however, I have never had one, as I am not a fan of roast beef. I love this family-owned place and look forward to going each time I am home!

Go for the roast beef sandwich ! It’s not what you think. The beef is shredded and comes with cole slaw on a yeast roll. This sandwich has been consistently great for years & years. The spaghetti special is good also.
