Specialties
Joe’s famous breadsticks are still made in-house everyday, along with our
pizza dough. All our soups and sauces, and many of our salad dressings are also homemade. The Specialty pizzas and most of our sandwiches are Joe’s creations. Pastas, pizza crusts, breads and breading do contain
eggs and wheat.
Gluten-free pizza crust and pasta available upon request.
History
Established in 1973.
Opened first restaurant across the street from current location. In 1989, upon moving into the complex renamed Maxwell’s Alley. Joe Bologna’s Restaurant & PIzzeria became the first restaurant in Lexington with 41 stained glass windows. During remodeling, a deliberate effort was made
to preserve the style and atmosphere of the orginal building. (orginally Ohavay Zion Jewish) The bar now stands in the orginal pulpit area.
