Import Auto Specialists was founded by ASE Master Technician Daniel Wells to fill the need in the Lexington area for competent, compassionate auto repair. With two full time technicians and Daniel bringing a combined 51 years of import repair experience you can trust us to get the problem fixed right the first time with less cost. Chis has factory training on Mercedes, BMW and Honda but a passion for fast Audi’s. Dan has factory training on Saab and years of experience with Audi, BMW, Toyota, Volvo and VW’s. Import Auto Specialists’ success is accredited to our core beliefs that we treat everyone as we want to be treated. Little details matter to us!

Business Owner

Daniel is an ASE Master Technician. He has extensive training and experience on Audi, BMW, Volkswagen and Volvo vehicles. His repair experience covers a wide variety of vehicle makes and models, foreign and domestic. He lives in Lexington with his wife, Sarah, daughter, Amelia, and their english setter, Dixie. Daniel and Sarah are members of Southland Christian Church and serve on several ministries.

I could not be more impressed with the service we received. For a very small fee Daniel and his crew spent an immense amount of time thoroughly inspecting a car, estimating the cost of repair and explaining the details. We drove up from Nashville so they knew at the time that we would most likely NOT get it repaired there simply because of distance. Even though they were aware there was no future business in it for them they went above and beyond. As a former full time mechanic I understand the importance of their time and what this should’ve cost. This is the first time I’ve ever left a car repair establishment feeling like I got more than I paid for. Thank you!

Take both my Lexus and Mitsubishi to Daniel and team. They are honest and trustworthy and I have never had an issue with the work they do and the price they charge. I even bring my cars here for oil changes, etc. as they let me know how everything looks overall and any pending work that will need to be done in the future. Would not take my cars anywhere else. Only downside is that they are busy as people learn about their work, and I have to schedule appointments now.

There isn’t a better place to have your European car maintained and repaired in Lexington. Daniel and his staff are very thorough, and they remember you and your car each time you come in. They are always extremely professional and ready to answer any questions you may have. I don’t have my foreign car anymore, or I’d still be here on a regular basis with the little POS. :)

I no longer live in Lexington, but wanted to have my clutch replaced during a family visit. We called around and were impressed by the professionalism of Import Auto. The clutch was replaced in a timely fashion at a very reasonable price. The shop and waiting area are clean and accommodating. Most importantly, the mechanics are respectful and not at all condescending to their clientele, which is nearly as important to me as the quality of the work. Highly recommended and will definitely be back.

As a two-​car customer of Daniel’s for several years, long before he established his own business, I can assert that he is the only person allowed to touch my car (it doesn’t hurt that he willingly and patiently explains everything he’s doing in layman’s terms for those of us lacking any car knowledge whatsoever). Daniel works tirelessly, round the clock (literally!) to guarantee customer satisfaction and flawless quality work. Not only is he an outstanding mechanic, but also a dedicated and enthusiastic entrepreneur, philanthropist, and member of the local community. Daniel values relationships above all else, and a trip to Import Auto Specialists doesn’t feel burdened or stressful, but rather like you’re going to drop your car off with a friend.
