Fairfield Inn & Suites North

Stayed at this location several times while driving though town with my family. Main draw for us is the availability of 2 double beds in the 2 room suites. Many hotel suites only have King beds with pull out couches. Ideal for us while traveling with small kids as we can put them to bed and spend time in the other room. Breakfast is adequate but there’s a Waffle House and Cracker Barrel right next door if you want something more. Hotel has always been clean with friendly staff. Driving back North tomorrow morning and looking forward to my stay there on our way back home!

Being marriot card members, I expected more from this place. Our room was dirty. There was garbage left behind the TV and stains on the couch, luggage rack and carpet. Our room was situated over the entrance, and consequently we were woken up many times throughout the night to laughter and talking.

This hotel exceeded my expectations. Customer service was professional and helpful. The hotel was clean and so was the room we stayed in. The pool and hot tub was not as clean as it should have been. The floors was very slick and my daughter fell and bumped her head so be very careful with little ones.
Free breakfast was decent I would have like to been offered fresher options I.e. bakery goods and hot food. The powdered eggs just seemed wrong.
Great hotel but suggestion that maybe they keep designated rooms for pet parents.

The first room we got was musty smelling and had a big wet patch on the carpet underneath the window/​air conditioner. We changed rooms. Generally, the rooms are small, cramped and poorly laid out. Overall, the construction of the hotel seems second rate and worn.

Stayed in room 401 on Jan. 10^th, 2015. Jacuzzi suite.
THE GOOD: beautiful room, very clean, check in was very short (less than 2 min) within in 5 min of arriving in our room, the front desk clerk called and made sure the room was to out liking (why doesn’t every hotel do this? It took 30 seconds and made a big impression) the pillows were incredible.
THE BAD: brought a few perishables into the hotel room later that night for our mini fridge, found out it was broken. Called the front desk to let her know and she kinda got snarky and let me know that she hasn’t has issues with any other fridges before (to which I said: «well this one definitely has an issue» she just said she’d make a note for maintenance, then we hung up. So… I took 7 trips to the ice machine and filled our sink with ice for some things, had to throw away the rest as we had no working fridge (which is why we booked a room with the fridge)

1^st.) 2:03 am by a gentlemen screaming in the hall.
2^nd.) 2:47 am by the gentlemen directly above us screaming «take it off, just take it off!!»
3^rd.) 3:02 am by the woman with the gentlemen above us screaming «wooooooo… Wooooooooo… woooooooo» because her hot tub water must have just blown her mind.
4^th.) 4:13 am by the same room above us, the sound of them draining their water and stomping like they were tap dancing.

–Breakfast wasn’t awful, but there was definitely not enough room in that lobby for as many guests as they had. I get that you can’t feed every guest at once nor have enough room for all of them to come down mostly at the same time. But you’ve gotta do better than 4 square tables that can seat 4. It was filled with all kinds of crazy loud and energetic kids who were finger painting with waffle batter. I was so freaked out, I could only grab a banana and then got the heck out of there.
–My biggest pet peeve was the attitude the night clerk had, she acted like I had just interrupted her while she was texting her favorite person and now had to deal with me when I informed her about her broken hotel fridge, then basically tried to politely call me a liar. She offered to do nothing about it, nor did she care and could obviously not wait to get back to doing nothing. I know it’s everyone’s thing in the service industry to «not make a big deal» about a lot of things, but sometimes you’ve gotta draw the line between «excellent service» and «mediocre service», this hotel was far from poor, but the service was most definitely not excellent. I paid $ 124 and some change after all was said and done, after reading my review; do you think that price was worth it?

Very easy check in, pleasant staff, and newer rooms. The pull out beds were very very thin, but everything else was very comfortable in the room.
You are close to the interstate, but you don’t hear it, which I liked a lot. You’re also about 10 minutes from the Kentucky Horse park, and right by the Cracker Barrel for those nights when dragging yourself downtown just isn’t going to happen.
We were able to get an upgrade to the double-​double suite on check in for a negligible price, very much appreciated for a group of three with two snorers (one with radiator-​like body heat)
Everything in ours was clean except for the pullout sofa, which had a water bottle in it when we popped it out (weird…). I did a check of the bed after we found the bottle to make sure there was nothing else on or around the bed, but didn’t find anything, so we just removed the bottle and went with it.

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!
I sent a gift to my boyfriend as he was staying at this location while he was away on business. The letter (that I sent a week in advance) was never received, so I called the hotel, asked to speak to a manager, and was connected to Lantz.
Oh Lantz…
Lantz was very unhelpful and unpleasant. When I asked him to check the mail for me, he said no he couldn’t do that until «someone else comes in», I asked when that would be, he said he didn’t know.
The next morning my boyfriend went to Lantz and asked what time the mail arrives, Lantz said he didn’t know. After some more prodding, Lantz said he can check the mail at 3 when someone else comes in. When my boyfriend checked back in at 5, he was told that Lantz left, never checked the mail, and has the mail key so the woman on duty couldn’t even walk out to the mail box and check it for us.
Let me say that the woman I spoke with while trying to track down Lantz was very kind, but this issue is still yet to be resolved. I’m disappointed that a manager of a hospitality business would be so rude and unhelpful.

I should begin by writing that I didn’t actually stay at this hotel. I made reservations, checked in, was given a room, then a second room and then checked out.
Why? The rooms in the hotel absolutely stunk, and I mean that in the literal way. BF, niece and I walked into the room and the smell was so overpowering that we immediately walked back out. The room smelled like a pack of wet dogs. No kidding.
Given that the hotel accepts animals-​as a cat owner, I appreciate that– I requested a room change. Unfortunately, the second room had the same horrible smell.
The lone employee at the front desk immediately refunded me my money and informed me that they didn’t keep certain rooms for animals. He had said the same thing when I first requested a room change, which I found odd. There are plenty of hotels that accept pets. What was the problem here?
While I was checking out, a man behind me asked why I was leaving and I replied honestly. I did get my money back, but the employee told me that I had no right to speak to another potential guest as I had and asked me and my family to leave immediately. Wow!
My actual rating of this place is a zero. My advice, don’t stay here.

I stayed here when I came to Lex for family obligation. The room was very clean, and the mattress was comfortable. They give you lots of pillows – bonus. I had no trouble with the wifi-​I even watched Netflix in my room-​so maybe the previous reviewer just was unlucky or I pleased the wireless gods. The gym is small, but nice. There are three cardio machines, each with a tv, and some free weights. Free breakfast is very good, as far as these things go. Location is right off interstate – not close enough to hear road noise though, my room was super quiet. I would definitely stay here again.

This hotel was very nice. Everything you would expect. Clean Rooms, friendly staff well maintained. Its when you leave that you realized that you relaxed just like at home then you know it was a great visit. Complimentary breakfast. Not the best in the world for me, but very clean and always well stocked. Most of what they have is packaged and then you heat it up in the Micro but good. They have coffee makers in the room as well. My room had a refrigerator but not microwave. The wifi was good, but not really good enough to watch TV or video.

Very clean, free breakfast, great customer service. Hotel was built recently.
