History

Established in 1904.

embry’s was Founded in 1904, making it one of Kentucky’s oldest privately owned businesses. Located in Lexington’s quaint Lansdowne Shoppes, embry’s is Lexington’s premier fur specialty shop and designer fashion boutique.

In September 2013, the Embry family retired and sold their business to Cliff and Yvonne Katsamakis. The Katsamakis’ are sixth-​generation furriers, their family began in the fur business in the small town of Kastoria, in northern Greece generations ago. Cliff has been embry’s fur buyer and merchandiser for the last 29-​years. Cliff and Yvonne now make their home in Lexington.

embry’s is also the parent company of Koslow’s in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. We intend to continue the family tradition that embry’s has built out over the years.

embry’s also offers fur cleaning and storage, as well as in-​housing custom restyling, resizing, and repair shop for fur and leather in Lexington, KY.
