My fiancé and I were spending a few days in Lexington and I found a groupon for this winery. We went to their Hamburg location and had a blast. The lady working their was super friendly and made us feel very welcomed. They provided us with plenty of tastings and included different pairings of wine with juices to provide great summer drinks. I highly recommend this winery, especially at the Hamburg location!

The tasting shop has moved since they first opened here in Hamburg. I do prefer this spot to be honest. You can get to it really easily and lots of parking out front. They have indoor and outdoor seating and even live music often. I stop in here with my friend Amy when we go to see a movie or have to go shopping. It is our treat to knock the edge off before we shop. The shop is always clean which is a perk. There is usually a new face every time we visit. The workers are friendly, but not as professional as one would assume. They like to tell about all the other people that no longer work for them etc. Don’t get me wrong. They are great gals, but they spill others tea if you will. That is what brought them down from a 4 star to a 3 in my book. If you are in Hamburg, stop in here for a tasting and grab a glass. It really does help the shopping experience.

We enjoyed all the wines we tasted, which is extremely rare. Our travels have taken us to many wineries and this now is my favorite. The atmosphere is wonderful

What to do for fun on a cloudy Saturday afternoon? Stop by Chrisman mills for some wine tasting. Whether a seasoned pro or a shy newbie they have a wine that will suit your need for a taste of the grapes!

This review is based on the 10 minutes we spent in here. We showed up at 6PM to do a wine tasting(they close at 7), but we were told that tastings ended at 5PM. Not sure if that’s a state law or not, but no matter as we were offered free samples of several wines. The guy running the bar was pretty knowledgeable and friendly.

When we got here there were two tables of people and they could not keep up. We finally got waited on(we were sitting at the bar for about 10 min by then.), when a new hostess walked in to start her shift and noticed we have had no food or drink. The Little tasting room as a almost touristy wine flair to it. With its colored walls, knickknacks spotting the places around the bottles of wine and other items you can buy. A few tables sit in the open floor leading up to the bar, they are of no particular size or make but fit to a touristy outside bistro feel they are going for. The left wall is lined with wine storage filled with the season’s wines from their vineyard for sale. The right wall has a few display tables filled with trinkets and wine inspired gifts for sale. I was surprised to find mulled spice packets there, from any one that wants charismas Wassail or mulled wine. The back of the room has a U shaped bar, were the tastings are done. I had the antipasto and the cheese plate with a wine tasting. The tasting is a great deal at $ 5 to try the whole list, I highly recommend it. I brew my own mead and try tone of other ones homemade or from professional brewers. They have their own version that’s different from most I have had. It’s light and crisp like flat champagne. The antipasto is worth your money it has salami, parmesan, Gouda, bruschetta, ham. And what I think was Havarti. You could go get all of this from your local grocery so it’s nothing fancy but tastes good and with wine a good time. The cheese plate was disappointing from the same reasons I could go buy all the cheeses pretty cheaply myself, even the candies almonds, I say save you money on it. It’s a nice place to come for a glass of wine and a light meal.

We are in Lexington from Indianapolis for a weekend away and have a GroupOn for here. We have been here for 45 minutes and have yet to get a drop of wine in our glasses. The server cannot concentrate on anything for more than 5 seconds. When we finally get some wine to try, I will report back on that. But I can say without a shadow of a doubt that the service is shit. Friendly, but still shit. Edit: I just sampled their«ultra-premium» Ensemble and First Vineyard Reserve. The server first poured us the red, which is out of order so then we were served the Ensemble white in a champagne flute. They were both atrocious. Absolutely wretched wines. My wife and I are wine people, we love wine. I cannot even find a bottle that is worth taking home. I also noticed that they are sold out of their«Norton Reserve» at $ 28/bottle. There is not a bottle of Norton in this world worth $ 28 unless it were once owned by Marlon Brando or something. Save yourself the time, money and trouble and take your business elsewhere.

Used a Groupon here with some friends. Glad to be rid of the Groupon??? We were told make reservations because they get really busy on Friday night. We were the only people there. Okay, that’s fine. Good service, right? Yeah, the girl working there was really nice and friendly. Everything else was lackluster though. Regardless of how you feel about their wines(my opinion: not many worth trying), the tasting experience is kind of lousy. The appetizers we were served were substandard: hard bread(we somehow left with all teeth intact – we think), greasy pita chips fried in old oil, Athenos hummus(which is ok if I’m in a pinch and really want hummus, but not in this situation), goopy wine cheese. Overall, just a disappointing experience. Left with the two bottles that came with the Groupon but it was hard to choose two we didn’t actually mind taking home.

We first started coming here a few years ago when they were in a different location and turn over wasn’t as great. Now there is a different face everytime that we go in. It is a great date night though… you can walk over to the movies after a tasting. The patio is great even they have muscians playing… I think it’s on Saturdays.

This was the first winery I visited in Kentucky and the quality of wine wasn’t great. The tasting room is very nice and the person helping us was very friendly. He did have trouble answering some of our questions though and instead talked his way around what wasn’t really an answer. The dry wines weren’t great but the sweet wines were a bit better and we ended up buying one of the dessert wines. They get points for a cute tasting room, all the interesting food/wine events they have coming up and friendly(even though not knowledgeable) staff. I’m sure there are people out there who like their wines they just weren’t ones I enjoyed.
