My company moved to Lexington Center late last year and Avenue Deli is one of my goto places for lunch at least once a week. Why, you might ask, especially since my office is right next door to Panera, which is so convenient? It’s because the food is so dang good! I mean, where else can you practically any kind of deli sandwich you can think of? The selection is amazing. The meats are really tasty and every sandwich is made with a smile. My favorite is the Paul Revere, which consists of deluxe roast beef, BBQ sauce, cheddar cheese, lettuce and tomato, all on a yummy onion roll. On top of that, they even make(yes, freshly made) one of my favorite drinks, passion fruit iced tea. One time I went and they had run out of iced tea, and the owner brewed some tea right then and there instead of just saying that they were out. That’s quality service right there. If you’re in Lexington Center, and you’re in for a nice deli sandwich, you can’t go wrong by stopping in here. I know I’ll be back, many times over.

How do you NOT grill the bread of a rueben sandwich? Their pickles are good. Got a few half sandwiches with a co-worker. Nothing special here and most likely not to return.

A good deli with some pretty good prices and opitions to choose from. Little small inside with not much seating is the only downfall. But across the street is Lexington Park. So on a nice day can always go sit there and eat. They offer gluten free bread as well. Sandwiches are fresh and the meat is boars head brand.

Beware the«specials,» which are an attempt to unload whatever stale/about to expire stuff they have on hand. I asked the husband if the roast beef was rare. Oh yes, he shows me nicely rare roast beef. That is not what he puts in my $ 7.50 sandwich however, despite the smiling service. You can’t watch them make anything as they are behind the counter, so a little bait and switch, which I discovered after driving back to office. Grey, yucky roast beef that tasted about to go bad. I almost drove back there with it I was so irritated, but who knows what I would have gotten if I’d returned it. So i had to buy another lunch. Really short-sighted on owners’ part. I will not be returning.

Great sandwiches with excellent gluten-free options.(The bread was perfect for my daughter who can’t eat wheat flour.) But even was the service. Everyone was friendly and went out of their way to make us welcome. Next time we’re in Lexington, we’re going back.

I came here last minute in a pinch due to an extremely tight schedule and was impressed. I got a chicken salad sandwich, and it really exceeded my expectations. The chicken salad, bread, and veggies were all very fresh. I took off a star because I wanted a cream soup to go with my sandwich, but they only had chicken soup. Also, I didn’t care too much for their chip selection, but I do consider myself a bit of a food/chip snob. I would definitely come back again knowing that I can get a solid chicken salad sandwich here.

Wow this place was good. Thank you Unilocalers for leading me here! We went here for lunch after church on a rainy, crummy day. Being new to the area, I am relying on Unilocal for every place we try. They have a huge selection of sandwiches, of which are Boar’s Head meat. Yum. I ordered the Paul Revere and my hubs ordered the Midnight Ride. Both were delicious! Plus they served us about 2 minutes after we ordered which was a huge bonus. The meat was incredibly tasty and tender, the veggies were fresh, and the bread was super soft. And it’s very reasonably priced! We both enjoyed our sandwiches and said it completely hit the spot. My one suggestion is more seating! I’m not sure how to make that happen but for those who don’t live in Lexington, but want to experience the goodness right there in the deli, we’d love a place to park for a bit.

I feel terrible about the review I am about to write, but I hope the owners will read my feedback and make changes or else their business will not last. On a positive note they serve boars head meat and cheeses which is fantastic, unfortunately they place that fantastic meat between TERRIBLE bread(not deli standard). I got a «baguette» my husband had«onion kaiser roll» my dad and mom had wonder bread. Just awful! This is clearly a family type run business and the husbands job is to make the sandwich while the wife rings up the customers. A backlog quickly happened since she did not help him prepare sandwiches. Cashier needs to multiuser task, she can’t just let a line form while waiting to collect money. Another major complaint was the size of the sandwich… very small amount of meat and no toppings. My dad had to stop the man mid way making his a sandwich to ask for mustard since he never asked what we wanted on the sandwich. Seating is extremely limited. Only 4 seats in the whole place we had to take my sandwiches home to eat. To sum it up, this place has good meat. Otherwise there is no redeeming quality. The people were courteous and very nice so I hope they make these necessary changes because it won’t survive as is.

Pretty nice deli and a good value. Prices are a little expensive but the sandwiches are a meal and a half. I usually get the Reuben or Rachel but the spicy Italian(whose name eludes me) is also very tasty. Salads are cheap but if you get a meat topping it’s going to be cold cuts. Just be forewarned. They also have a very quick turnover. You can be in-and-out at their busiest time in about 10 minutes. That’s no joke when you’re on lunch break.

We flew into Bedford for a few hours and I needed to grab some sandwiches for the crew and our passengers. So I looked on Unilocal and found this deli. This is a small mom and pop shop that was very busy, and for good reason. The sandwiches are killer! This place is bookmarked and I will be back next time I’m in Bedford, which fortunately for me is very often.

Delicious sandwiches, wraps, and soup — Overall: friendly staff, gluten-free options, convenient location, and fast service I had turkey on gluten-free bread — turkey was in abundance and tasted like it was fresh sliced, all the toppings were crisp and fresh. Tons of sauce options also. Friend had thanksgiving sandwich– Huge! Very tasty, fresh stuffing and yummy cranberry sauce, she loved it! Veggie soup was very flavorful and hot with huge chunks of vegetables and seasonings. Prices were very reasonable for the sizes of the sandwiches– fresh apples and cookies a MAJOR plus for my friend and I. Will return ASAP!

Bought a new bike and took it for a spin. Got hungry as we approached Lexington on the bike path, but weren’t dressed for a nice sit-down meal. Happened upon 1806 Ave Deli and were not disappointed. Good solid sandwiches, attentive and good customer service, and people watching window bar seating. Probably not a destination for a trip, but a definite solid stop if you are in Lexington and hungry. Would be a great stop prior to a picnic!

Its always exciting for me to try a new deli — especially one with a good reputation. Its a small shop with no frills — sandwiches, chips, some bread and some beverages — all that a good deli needs. The small counter with stools to eat at is a great touch. Service was great — speedy and very friendly. The sandwiches are very hefty, and are very reasonably priced. I got the ’ NY Double Decker’ with hopes that it’d be a NJ style Sloppy Joe. and it was pretty close. Great size, good meats and toppings. even had rye bread. Sadly, the rye is what dinged that 5th star here. Opening the sandwich you can see impressions in the rye — not a bad thing, since yeah, you make sammiches with your hands. Its normal. But. not for rye bread. Rye should not be squishy. and it had all the consistency of a sponge. Major bummer. but fortunately everything else shined here, and Avenue Deli pulls the 4 stars easily.
