Old Orchard Animal Clinic

I have been going to Old Orchard Animal Clinic for twenty years. Dr. Kirby has treated my numerous fur babies, cared for my fur babies and watched my fur babies pass. It’s always been about the quality of care. He has fought for quality of life for my fur babies, never what padded the bill. And he is the first to admit when all options have been explored. I’ve read the negative reviews, and seriously, you people don’t have anything better to do than complain. I will continue to trust my babies with Dr. Kirby. He loves them as much as I do, and I demand a partner in my babies care. I have that with him.

Dr Kirby is absolutely wonderful! We’ve been taking all our pets to him for almost 20 years. He’s careful, reasonable, great with nervous animals, and has a great depth of knowledge that shows in his care. His staff is always friendly and helpful, too. They have patiently answered many questions from us over the years.

Dr. Kirby is nothing short of amazing. He helped our 17 year old dog recover after a stroke and did not give up on him. He always has a perfect solution to make him feel better. I recently got a puppy and of course am taking her to Old Orchard. Dr. Kirby did a wonderful job on her spay surgery. She has no scar and she healed wonderfully. The incision was very small.
The prices are wonderful and the staff is so kind. I am so thankful for everything Dr. Kirby has done for the animals in my life.

He has been running this veterinary clinic for 35 years so the experience showed when I took my dog in for some occurring problems.
They identified the problem, took care of it quickly and staff was very kind to me and my canine companion. Very affordable as well.

My dog swallowed a sock whole and had to have it sugically removed. Dr. Kirby did a great job and my dog is doing fantastic almost a year later. I could not believe how reasonable the price was. It amazed me. No fancy building, just a great vet. Will never go anyplace else.

Not great. Cramped waiting area with big dogs to terrify your already sick cat.
Took our cat in for throwing up her food, but she picked up a respiratory bug which she transmitted to our other cat, requiring another visit and more meds for a cat whose stomach was already tore up.
I theorize it wasn’t sterilized well enough for this to happen. Granted it was a few years back, but I can’t recommend based on my experiences there.

I’m sure they are a great practice, but the woman that answered the phone today was very unprofessional and rude. No fax and no email? It is 2014, I find that hard to believe. Quit being lazy!

«Highly disappointed with Old Orchard Animal Clinic. I am a brand new puppy mom. I took my maltese puppy in there 3 times for puppy boosters, rabies vaccinations and heart worm prevention. The shot records are very old school and hand written. Dr. Kirby had checked the box showing that my puppy had a „bordetella“ shot. I had been taking my puppy to doggie day camp and doggie hotel thinking she had her bordetella shot as her records reflected. I wanted to try a new doggie day camp, so I took her to Petsmart. Petsmart told me since the records were „hand written“, they would have to call my vet to verify that my puppy had all the required shots. Helen at Old Orchard told them my puppy had never received a „bordetella“ shot like her record showed. I was extremely upset, because my puppy had been attending day camps without having that required shot. I am also very disappointed that Dr. Kirby did not recommend shots knowing that I was a new puppy parent. They lost a customer they could have had for life. I am now in the process of looking for a new vet to go to regularly and to also get my puppy spayed. I am very sad with the whole situation.»

Dr. Kirby is great with the animals! They charge very reasonable prices and the wait is never very long. They don’t do unnecessary testing or shots. I’ve been going here for a while and have been very happy. It is not a very fancy or updated office but the level of care is excellent and that’s what I care most about!
