A bit disappointed in my flat iron steak, my standard favorite. My medium rare order ended up not having a smidge if pink in it and our friend’s medium flat iron steak has red in it. Our server, Abby, was very nice and friendly, but I never return food unless it’s disgusting or inedible. Mine was simply wrong. The food on the salad bar was good. Update: A Customer Service Representative from Hoss’s read the above review. He stated that I should have asked for the manager-on-duty and they would have gladly corrected my order. Perhaps I should have, it would have avoided a single star rating from me. I know that customer satisfaction is their priority. That said, I improved my rating to three stars for this particular location. Another visit another time might just change everything even better.

Food was good but nothing spectacular. It is probably worth the price. Nice salad bar and lots of options for soup. I probably will check this place out again.

When I have a poor experience at a place I wait a few days to «cool off» and see what remains. As you can tell it wasn’t a great experience. My daughter loves this place mainly because of the salad bar so occasionally we go to appease her, today was one of those. We got there around 2 and were one of about 4 tables taken in the place. I ordered an 8oz steak medium(I posted a pic of the wellness chart) and a adder of shrimp for 3.99ish with a baked potato and my daughter ordered pizza with smiley fries. We barely got back from the salad bar and our warm food was there. As par for the course they made me cut my steak to check it… blood red like it tore off when I cut it in the serrations. I sent it back and 30 seconds later it was back. Cut a different direction and still blood red. Sent it back 3rd time literally there’s blood coming out of it(wasn’t offered a new steak any of these times it was the same one). They did comp my steak but here’s the kicker my daughter is super sensitive and worries when things aren’t right so she kept apologizing to me over their terrible cooking. «I’m sorry daddy I’m sorry» so finally I said«no they’re sorry, if we would have gone to roadhouse or any other steak house it would have been right the 1st time». That’s when I heard a employee sigh… then whisper something to another employee and then the two laughed… the rest of the crew(save my waitress TIA) gave me dirty looks, sighs, and general standoff attitudes. For the price this place is compared to other steakhouses this one is the lowest of the low I personally will never go there again, I suggest you follow my lead.

Often times, I find myself reviewing a place that I have been to countless times before. Maybe I haven’t done a review of said place because I haven’t been there for a few years. Hoss’s is one of those places. With that, I am often faced with a dilemma. Do I review a place based on past experiences? Or, do I review based on my recent/current trip? In this case, I think it is appropriate to review based on the current visit. Today was date night with the wife. So expectations and hopes were high for a nice dinner. Date night company is always good as it is just the wife and I. That company can be ruined by something as simple as bad service or a creepy old dude staring at my wife while she eats. In this case, the service was top notch. Dawn, our server, was great. She was attentive and really seemed eager to make sure we had a proper experience. That just leaves the creepy old guy. Yeah… It happened and was really weird. That said, Hoss’s is a steak house with a salad bar. They typically keep iceberg and spinach on the bar. You will find soups, breads, nachos, and desserts on the bar. It is AYCE so dig in! They keep the salad bar well stocked and maintained. There isn’t much, in the way of negatives there. That is always plus. So, we have great service, creepy old dude, and great salad bar. The soup was really good. I love their chicken noodle soup. They always have other good soups there as well. Today saw a great variety of them. So after the salad, it was time for the main course. At Hoss’s it is always steak and baked potato for me. Red meat… Arooooooo! Ruf ruf! That’s how a caveman does it, with respect to Geico! I got mine medium. That is how it came. It definitely repped a medium steak. But in this was the problem and it is the heart of the 2 stars. In the past, this place always made a really tasty and explosive flavored steak. I expect as much from any steak I eat, here. Unfortunately, this steak fell flat. Really flat. What should have been a really tasty medium steak, tasted like flat red meat steak. This thing was a huge disappointment. This is a steak house. If the steak isn’t right, the rating will not be either. I had to eat dessert from the salad bar just to give my palate a little taste after that garbage. So ice cream, apple crisp, and a piece of pie. That was decent, at least. So here it is. Negatives– creepy dude, steak Positives– service, salad bar This was a huge dissapointment compared to my normal Hoss’s experience. Next time I will order medium well and hope some flavor gets scraped off the grill, or something.
