What an amazing, educational tour of Lewiston and all it has to offer. Chris and Alicia were so knowledgeable and informative. Great food with good people. Highly recommended. We will be repeat customers!

Each August, a group of women take a day trip from Rochester, New York to experience something new, fun, and entertaining while spending a special day away from work, commitments, computers, cell phones, and plain old daily life. This year we traveled to Lewiston, a quaint setting along the Niagara River for our special day. We arrived around 1030 am, looked through some of the specialty shops, and then met our tour guides, Chris and Alicia, from The Roaming Table. For the next three house, we experienced a walking tour through the charming streets of Lewiston, learned about much of its history including the War of 1812, their role in the Underground Railroad, etc. While strolling, learning, and listening, we stopped along the way to enjoy 6 wonderful establishments in Lewiston. At each business, we experienced a special sampling of food and drink that knocked our socks off. The portions were perfect, more than generous tasting sizes, and you certainly didn’t leave this tour hungry or disappointed. The owners of the businesses were welcoming, and Alicia and Chris were a delight. I can think of so many friends of mine who would love this tour. I will definitely be back to do it again… and I know each of my 7 friends felt the same. Bravo Roaming Table food tour! Total delight!

If you have a chance, I would recommend The Roaming Table. We dined our way through Lewiston while enjoying the sights and history. Our guides Chris and Alicia have put together a walking tour exploring the architecture and history of Lewiston with stops at some great restaurants to sample some of the best food and wine pairings to be found. Chris and Alicia met us at The Silo. The first course was a sampling of The Silo’s legendary Haystack Sandwich featured on the Travel Channel’s «Man V. Food». I can definitely understand why it’s called «Beef on Wonderland» … Rib eye steak, mozzarella cheese topped with crispy fried potato sticks. On the way to the next course at the Brickyard Pub & BBQ we learned about the role Lewiston played in the War of 1812 and The Underground Railway. Our next course was at the Brickyard Pub & BBQ where we were treated to their smoked chicken wings which were flash fried and the coated with a dry rub. It was paired with a great local brew and sweet potato fries. The next course was at the Town Hall Bistro where the owner & chef prepared us a fabulous jambalaya pasta paired with an excellently crisp and refreshing Reisling. The pasta was beautifully seasoned and loaded with free-​range chicken. Will definitely go back. The next stop was the Orange Cat Café for a cup of free-​trade iced coffee. We especially enjoyed Carmelo’s where we Carmelo greeted us with a tasting of his watermelon tomato gazpacho paired with a wonderfully crisp white wine. I know … it’s not something I would have normally ordered, but was pleasantly surprised at how light and refreshing it was. Multifaceted and complex layering of flavours topped with edible marigolds. Another restaurant we will need to come back to. The finale was dessert at The Village Bake Shoppe and their specialty mini apple pie. What a perfect blend of food and history. We’ve been to Lewiston many times, but appreciated this fresh perspective

This is the most fun I’ve ever had on city tour! I’ve only ever done historical tours in other cities before and have to say adding food makes it so much more enjoyable. Lewiston is a quaint and picturesque village brimming with history. Located on the niagara river it was a major ending stop along the underground railroad and the town and the tour celebrates this. The quality of the food was exceptional; the serving sizes filled me up but didn’t make me overly full. Perhaps the best part of the tour was the young couple leading it. Alicia and Chris were sweet, accommodating, insightful, and just adorable. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to have a fun day that fills the belly and mind.
