I used Happy Day for my brother’s memorial. We didn’t do anything fancy(aka you can’t really screw up cold cuts, cheese, and veggies) but it was okay. For Lewiston, this place is A-OK. For me, for the city, same, just A-OK, customer service a little blah. They did three things, customer service wise that drove me insane, but once again, I’m from a city, so I have a different view: 1) I wish they would have taken some initiative and called me during the week. It was obviously short notice, but only once in the week of the planning did the caterer call to check on things and I don’t quite remember if it was to return my call. I had to do a lot of calling and checking, and while I had a million of things to do, I wish they had called me to check on things. Plus, I had some table décor, and yes, this is picky, but if they wanted more of it, they could have run out and bought it themselves and charged it to me. Instead, while planning everything else, I had to send someone to buy extra stuff. Wish they had done it. 2) They need an office admin. You never get the same person twice, and it makes me nervous if my messages are actually going to the person they are suppose to go. Plus, it would help greatly with #1. 3) We had three servers at the memorial, but they forgot to unwrap the cheese and veggie trays, which I had to do, and didn’t bring enough to-go containers(ok, none) so they sent us home with the catering trays we had to return. It wasn’t a big deal, but… so weird. The actual Clarkston Event Center was clean except for the hand prints on the glass doors. Please use some Windex on those. Numerous fingerprints! I wish they had washed those doors. My parents were happy with them, and assured me that when they delivered the trays back to the catering office, there were many people who ran out to help. About time.

Happy Day is fantastic. Not only do they cater but they can also decorate for your event which took so much stress off of me when planning my wedding. When I walked into my reception, I was blown away. The decorations were so beautiful, they brought my vision to life and put their own touches on the event. It looked spectacular! Their food is incredible. We did a southern theme, and they created the most amazing menu: shrimp and grits, crab cakes that were to die for, fried chicken, mac and cheese with bacon in it and a whole roasted pig that they made special for us using Carolina style bbq sauce. My husband was in heaven, and I couldn’t have been happier!

If you’re searching for caterers in the Moscow/Pullman/Lewiston/Clarkston area, you may have noticed that there aren’t many options. I had the same problem when looking for a wedding caterer, but when I came across Happy Day, they became the obvious choice because of two little words: Pig. Roast. And when I learned that the price per person(plus two sides and rolls) was only $ 11.95, I immediately called them up. I talked to Terri, their event coordinator, and learned that they could do basically anything I wanted. And I wanted PIG. We ended up doing BBQ beans, cornbread, and fruit salad for side dishes(at a small extra cost for the extra side), and they said that based on our number of guests, they’d roast not one, but TWO pigs.(Be still my heart). They also did appetizers for us: a veggie medley with dip and the Cougar Gold cheese tray with yummy nuts and dried fruits. So fancy! Everything went off without a hitch, and all of our guests were totally impressed when two whole pigs showed up on the food table.(Luckily I don’t know many animal rights activists.) When all was said and done, we fed our 190 guests for about $ 4200. We saved some money by using plastic plates and utensils instead of real, and didn’t have them do water service, cake cutting, or champagne pouring. But they’ll happily take care of all those details if you want. The only sad thing was that there were no leftovers!
