History
Established in 1892.
Fales & Fales, P.A. had its beginnings in 1892 when Lorenzo Willis Fales opened his Lewiston law practice in a one-room structure at Chapel Street Alley and Main Street. Lorenzo’s son Elton Horace Fales studied law in his father’s office, as was the custom in those days, and joined his father’s practice in 1920. Father and son practiced law together until Lorenzo’s death in 1937.
Elton’s son Roscoe H. Fales joined the family law firm in 1957 as the third generation of Fales lawyers. Roscoe invited Anthony Kirby Ferguson to join the Fales firm in 1986 and invited Anthony’s wife Jennifer Nichols Ferguson to join them in 1989. Elton continued coming into the office daily until his death in 1989 at the age of 91.
Since Roscoe’s unexpected death in 1999, Anthony and Jennifer Ferguson have continued the Fales & Fales tradition of dedicated professional service. Fales & Fales, P.A. has provided more than a century of service to the citizens of Androscoggin County and surrounding counties.
