TL;DNR — Our room was filthy. Like pee still in the toilet filthy. Kim made it great. Location Is convenient. We stayed here on July 29, 2015. Cleanliness: This would have been a lower rating because our room wasn’t clean at all. We rolled up to the place at one in the morning after a ten hour drive and just wanted to sleep. Instead, we go to our room to find the bed totally slept in. I called Kim at the front desk to inform her. While she was heading over with fresh sheets, I realized that the whole bathroom wasn’t clean either! There was pee in the toilet bowl. Pee. Who doesn’t flush the toilet before they leave?! Who does that?!? She apologized profusely for the state of the room and grabbed supplies to clean it all herself. I felt really bad that she had to clean the room while she was in front desk duty. The room was really dirty and there was pet hair all over the chair. I think a previous person mentioned that the room at the end of the hall is a convenient place for animals and this was the only room available to us. Since it was a last minute clean, there was certainly pet hair all over. Be mindful of you have pet allergies. I also found a centipede in the bathroom. Staff: Kim seemed to be the only one on staff in the night. She was super friendly and helpful. Like I said, she even came in to change the sheets and clean the bathroom while we were there. That’s really going the extra mile to me. She offered us some tips for some fun things to do while in turn. I thought she was sweet and helpful. She made a problem situation not a big deal. No attitude or anything. She was just embarrassed for the state of the room. Give this girl a raise or promotion. She deserves it! She’s the only reason I gave this two stars. Location: Very close to grocery stores, gas stations and the highway. Convenient location overall. Amenities/Etc.: There’s a safe in the room for an extra fee. Pets are allowed. There’s a fridge for all your snacks. The bed was fairly comfortable(but maybe anything is at one in the morning). The walls are very thin and people are loud in the morning and if you don’t like cigarettes, I’d suggest requesting a room not at the end because you can definitely smell it from inside even if they’re smoking right outdoors.

well i would have shyed away from super 8 before, but now, well things are different. This Super 8 is on a hill off the main road a bit and the entrance was a bit puzzling at first. Lots of parking on three sides and overlooking the reataurants and gas stations across the main street. From the moment I walked in this was a cut above any preconcieved notions I had about Super 8. The gal behind the counter was cheerful and helpful. The Room was in very good shape. I Needed to unplug the refridgerator as it was quite a noisemaker. The Internet needed reset from the front desk and was very slow to connect, I mean minutes. After connection is was ok but disconcerting for sure. The room, bed and bath were top quality. — as good as the best. – I will be trying super 8 again — nice suprise.

I’ve stayed here multiple times when it use to be the only inexpensive, convenient place in town. Unfortunately this hotel is old and tired and it shows. The desk staff is inconsistent, either very friendly or very… strange. The rooms were clean but very stuffy and dated. Free breakfast items in the lobby were limited but ample. Rooms on the first floor are subject to loud parking lot noise(last time I stayed there a construction crew was there as well – and very loud at 6am as they loaded their trucks). I couldn’t leave my curtains or windows open because the windows were literally level to the parking lot which left me feeling vulnerable and unsafe. For literally a few dollars more you can do much better with the newer chain hotels just up the road.

We stopped here just for the night. If you need just a bed, this place isn’t terribly bad. The rooms are okay, just a slight stuffy smell. Only bad part was in the morning. It was very noisy with all the doors slamming shut, someone brought a barking dog and the walls are very thin.

I have stayed here on several occasions while traveling on business. Room is always spotless, everything always works, lots of hot water and nice deep tub for relaxing. Breakfast offerings could be better. I would prefer fresh fruit to fruit cup but waffles, hot and cold cereals, juices, toast, coffee etc Not bad for the price I travel with my working dog and they are more than accommodating. Nice grassy area for dogs. The biggest problem I had was the rear entrance doors were never locked!!!

The room was nice enough and clean(non-smoking). Still has tube TV’s. power button was broke on the TV and didn’t work on remote. WiFi doesn’t work with Apple products. It got 3 because the room was clean otherwise a 2.

OK, I know… it’s a Super 8, so why on earth is getting 5 stars? Well, let me just say that this place came through for me in a time of need so I’m going to be generous in return. I was driving from Maryland to Kentucky, then on to Kansas for Christmas and was trying to get through the mountains of VA and WV when a snowstorm hit along I-64. I stopped off in this little town and went into Hardees to get a sandwich, and a man came in from outside and asked about my out of state plates and where I was headed. When he learned that I was traveling east, he and the lady behind the counter both encouraged me to stop for the night and let the crews have time to clear the roads, that I had a few miles of uphill travel and the weather was getting bad. When the big redneck guy tells me that he wouldn’t even try it in his«big ol’ 4X4», I figure my little Escape probably shouldn’t try it either. However, I had my dog with me so I needed a place that was pet friendly. Both of these friendly locals recommended the Super 8, so at this point I was desperate and took them up on it. I walked in, and the lady behind the counter was SO friendly. When I asked if they accepted pets, she said«Yes, but it does cost a little extra». I was expecting as much as $ 50-$ 75, as many hotels do charge a lot for pets, so when she said«It’s an extra $ 10» I almost fell over. My total for the night, including the pet fee and tax, was only $ 72…so I wasn’t expecting much out of the room. However, when I arrived in my room, I was surprised that it was very clean, the beds were comfortable, they had a decent selection of TV channels, and plenty of hot water in the shower. The free wi-fi worked great, and allowed me to get a little bit of work done, as well as notifiying my family that I was still alive and not in a ditch or over the side of a WV mountain. The desk clerk was even kind enough to give me a room on the lower level right beside the door so I’d have easy access to take my dog outside, and she insisted on petting and playing with him for a few minutes when I brought him in. Breakfast the next morning was pretty typical of hotel breakfasts, mostly cereal and pastries, but they did have a waffle iron and yogurt, and a few pieces of fresh fruit. I seriously doubt I’ll ever be driving through this area again, but if I do, I would definitely stay here again.
