This is probably the best restaurant in Lewisburg. I’d even put it up there with many of the options at The Greenbrier. Friendly service, relaxing environment, and delicious food. Portions are big and the prices are reasonable. This is my new go to place when in town. PS I love the pot of bread.

I had the seafood special with crab bisque and ended with a delicious apple dumpling. My wife had the chicken shrimp combo and for dessert, had the bread pudding, which was great. Paula was a superb server with a great sense of humor.

Loved the complimentary bread appetizer! Got the penne Alfredo and Caesar salad, both were good and satisfied my craving, but not anything out of the ordinary. It was kind of pricey for the food quality and the portion size though, I could get the same meal for nearly half the price at Red Lobster. Plus, I got the sweetened ice tea and it tasted so artificial, I could get better iced tea at the gas station. Overall though, the place had a nice cozy atmosphere with friendly service, might be back to try more.

We ventured out from the Greenbrier resort and round this gem! Everything we ordered was absolutely fantastic. We started off with the fried mushrooms, pickles, and spinach and artichoke dip and ate it all! Our main meals were fantastic and above all, the service was above and beyond! Two big thumbs up!!!

You certainly can’t go wrong here, if you can get in as it’s very busy on the weekends. Great steaks and Italian food is what we enjoyed. Fabulous! Their hot out of the oven bread, melts in ur mouth.

Lunch: The Best Salad I have EVER had(Steakhouse) with Apple Vin dressing and yeast roll. Worth the two hour drive. We will be back on our next ride. Really nice atmosphere. Dessert next time.

A group of 5 of us ate lunch at Food & Friends today in historic downtown Lewisburg. This was my 2nd time dining here, and both times I found the service to be great, the food consistently good and the prices reasonable. I had French Onion Soup($ 5) with some homemade fries and a roll. The soup was hot and tasty, with generous cheese topping and croutons. My tablemates had a variety of dishes… a turkey ruben, chicken and avocado wrap, and hamburgers. All complimented the food and said it was very good. Service was prompt, friendly, and professional. I recommend Food & Friends.

We showed up with only 20 minutes till closing(I’m sorry!), but the host and server were very courteous and welcoming. My husband ordered the lasagna and I ordered the bourbon salmon. The server first brought our Caesar salads and a fresh loaf of bread that was cooked in a flower pot. Plus, they weren’t stingy with the butter, which I always appreciate! The croutons were crisp and well seasoned, the lettuce was fresh, the dressing was freshly prepared and tangier than most Caesar dressings I have previously tried, and there were grape tomatoes and red onions(these are not usually included in a Caesar salad). The bread was still warm and just melt in your mouth delicious! One of the reasons I tried the salmon was because it was listed on the menu as Norwegian salmon. Being from the Northwest, I am used to eating Alaskan salmon and wanted to see if I could taste a difference.(Plus, I’m of Norwegian descent.) OK. I couldn’t taste any differences, but it was fantastic. The bourbon glaze left a crispy top that was not too sweet(a big surprise to me since moving to the south and finding everything sweeter than what I was used to in the NW.) the salmon was cooked just right and was moist. It also came with a baked potato(nothing special, but it was cooked properly… and again, not stingy with the butter!) and a vegetable medley. The vegetables were cooked properly as well(translation: NOT A MUSHYMESS!) The price was a little higher than what we were looking for, but the food, location(within walking distance of the General Lewis Inn, where we were staying) and service made it worth it.($ 24 for the salmon and $ 14 for the lasagna)

The food is really good just super slow! My family went once and we were sort of hungry but not to hungry but by the time we had ordered and the time we got our food it had been a half and hour and we were starving!

Just really well done american food. The lady had the crab cakes, which were perfectly done. I had the bleu cheese burger, which was one of the best burgers I have had in recent memory. They bring homemade bread to the table with butter and it all just melts together. Had bruscetta with cheese, tomatoes and balsamic on top. Very flavorable. All around solid joint.

Our whole family went there last night. The parking was convinent. When we walked in, we were greeted by a wonderful hostess. She said that it was going to be 15 minutes or so until our table was ready. When we got to our table, the tip from the last party was still there. I thought, boy they could’ve taken the tip off the table. When we sat down, I noticed the water glasses were still empty. I mean, cmon people at least put water in your glasses. Every sit down restaurant puts water in there glasses before a party comes sit down there. We sat near a window. We had the shrooms as an appetizer and they were quite good. We all had a salad with our entrée. The salads were like any other garden salads. The entrées were good.

Pretty nice and homely quaint little family restaurant… Don’t like the décor, they need a big time remodel! Food is eatable but wouldn’t want to go there more than once a week at most.

I have eaten at Food and Friends twice. The food is very heavy and okay. I was not impressed with the food and the price was too high. Perhaps I am not a fan of this style of food. But you if do not like heavy food, you should either order a salad or go somewhere else.

Great filet! Great bread. Yummy homemade truffles! Definitely worth a visit while in the Lewisburg area. Filet was truly melt in your mouth. Served with homemade yeast bread, vegetables, salad and choice of potato. They have a great selection of desserts however I’d recommend getting a few of their homemade truffles to go. You can’t go wrong with the milk chocolate truffles.

Brisket burger was excellent — a regular beef burger laced with thin strips of tender brisket was huge, had to eat half with a fork — def in the top 10 best burgers ever

The décor is comfortable — more of a small town steak house than upscale steak house. Hubby had a black angus burger with the frozen fruit salad and thought it was excellent. The frozen fruit salad was almost as good as our family recipe:) He also tried the local brew and thought it was very refreshing. I had the boardwalk sandwich with fries. I really liked the sandwich and thought the fries were ok. The price would be moderate($ 30 for two sandwiches and a beer). It was not a cheap lunch, but the food was excellent!
