History
Established in 1994.
The Buttery was initially located on the first floor of the New Devon Inn hotel on the corner of 2nd & Market streets. Four years later the owners, John Donato & Twain Gonzales, moved the restaurant to the opposite end of the block. They purchased and renovated the old Trader Mansion on the corner of 2nd & Savannah, the gateway to historic downtown Lewes. Housed in this lovingly restored Victorian home, The Buttery has enjoyed twenty years of service to tourists and locals alike.
Because the chefs like to source locally whenever possible, The restaurant changes the menu four times a year reflecting the seasonality of local products
