I ordered online through grubhub. It was confirmed and a delivery estimate was even given. Two hours later I called honeybaked ham and Derek told me that because they hadn’t checked their fax machine they didn’t realize the oder had come in. He even tried to tell me that I had to call grubhub to cancel the order. Won’t be ordering from here again.

I receive a HoneyBaked gift card from my corporate office every Christmas. I have been their employee for three years. Hence, I have eaten HoneyBaked thrice. I didn’t even have a clue that this place existed on Long Island in 2011, and ignorantly ordered a ham via the 1 – 800 telephone number listed on the brochure that accompanied the gift card. I even had to add 10.95 for shipping and handling(sometimes I’m such a schmuck) One year later, I found that there was an actual HoneyBaked store conveniently located in Levittown and I decide to «stop by» on Christmas Eve. Bad Decision! The line was longer than the line at the Pandora Jewelry Shop! But the friendly staff moved the line effectively and I was in and out in 40 minutes. In 2013 I decided to wait until after the New Year to spend my gift card. Yesterday I walked in and out in 5 minutes. The store looked like it was undergoing a facelift. The staff was swift and friendly. Service was great! Truth be told, I don’t really like ham. So, I’m thinking next year, I’ll try the honeybaked turkey instead.

Having gotten Honeybaked ham with my sister in NC, I’m used to the yearly holiday ritual of standing in line. I expected that because there was hospitality at the Honeybaked Ham in NC, I would not be getting that in NY. Many retailers in NC that offer customer service and friendliness oftentimes do not in their NY or NJ locations(Chick-Fil-A, I’m looking at you). The parking lot is miniscule here & the location is smaller but when I walked in, I was reminded of going to the Honeybaked Ham store in NC last year to pick up ham. I was picking up Honeybaked turkey in my quest to have a private, conflict free Thanksgiving this year. They offered free samples of the turkey along with cranberry chutney. When you got to the register, they had samples of the red velvet cake. Just so you know, the red velvet cake is delicious along with the turkey & cranberry chutney. Staff here was just as friendly as the one in NC and the line did move far more quickly than you’d think. They were also friendly on the phone and I had no problem reserving my turkey for pickup on Monday. It’s the only one remotely near NYC but if you’ve never had the ham or turkey from Honeybaked Ham, you haven’t lived. Simple as that. I’ll definitely be back here for Christmas ham & future Thanksgiving/Christmas holiday meat needs. If you’re feeling particularly lazy or have no cooking skills, you can also buy side dishes and desserts here. If the rest of their products are any indication, I’m sure these are just as good as what I’ve had. Apparently, they also have a café here but there’s no area for seating so I’ve got no idea how they accomplish that. Is it strictly to-go? You tell me.

The place to go for that holiday ham. These damn hams are so good– other places sell them but none are as good in my opinion. Naturally, they are mobbed around the holidays — you can call to «reserve» a ham and they give you a number– I was a dufus and thought all I had to do was waltz in there with my number and be on my way. Well — there were 200 people ahead of me and I thought that those poor suckers didn’t have a number so I walked up to the front — ha! No such luck, seems everyone has the same number and all that number represents is the approximate weight of the ham you ordered… so, bear that in mind if you go around the holidays. At any other time of the year you can just breeze in for a ham.
