Ashley fit me in on a tight schedule, very professional, listened to what I wanted and gave me a killer, trendy new look! Her passion for her profession is obvious in her work!

Bridgette was my stylist. She did highlights on my hair and also cut it. She was very welcoming and made sure i was comfortable! She did an outstanding job on my hair, i really loved it.
Would definitely go back!

Found the place through groupon like many other Unilocalers. The deal was $ 55 for $ 110 worth of services (hair color, shampoo, cut, and styling).
Keep in mind that all the booths are rentals and there is no one welcoming you at the front desk and it doesn’t seem like anyone picks up the phone so you need to make an appointment directly with the stylist.
Bridget was the one who put the Groupon up when I purchased the deal. I guess a few stylists find clients through Groupon so it might be a good idea and call to ask questions with the stylist if you are picky.
My hair color and cut came out beautifully and Bridget did a great job keeping me comfortable throughout. Bridget did say prices will be the same as the Groupon’s full price — so $ 40 for a cut only and $ 110 for color and cut.

I found Rachel W at Salon Ji thru groupon over a year ago, she was the stylist who cut & highlighted my hair and has been the one & only stylist I’ve seen & will see. She continues to do an awesome job, talented & highly trained. I recommend her to anyone who needs a stylist. The rest of staff at Salon ji is courteous & professional.

Found this salon through groupon… So this was our first time here and Bridgette was our stylist! She was fantastic! She fixed a haircut that we had gotten a few days earlier and made it work… Highlights got rid of the «glitter» and turned out exactly the way I wanted! The salon was very comfortable and everyone was super nice! I would definitely recommend if you are looking for a new stylist!

Wow where do I begin rating this salon besides with 0 stars !! ( Unilocal made me select at least 1 star to post this) First I’ll start with the point, DO NOT LET RACHEL WILSON touch your hair!
I found a Groupon for a color and cut from Salon Ji in Lenexa a few weeks ago and before I bought the groupon I called the salon, asked questions and did my research. By that time I was not sure what I wanted to do, all I knew was that I wanted a haircut and some color in my hair. Once I figured out what I wanted, a coloring bayalage technique which consisted of Carmel highlights, close to an ombré but more suttle. The hair stylist that I talked to after speaking with others who were honest and said they didn’t know how to do it, was Rachel Wilson. She told me she could do it and that she had colored using that technique before. She sounded so confident on the phone so I made the appointment.
While Rachel was coloring my hair she told me while the foils were in my hair that she learned this technique on youtube 6 months ago… so no professional training, What the hell? It’s not like I could run off with foils in my hair but I sat there extremely nervous. While I was under the dryer she kept adding more bleach and folded the foils. When she blow dried it I’m sure she clearly saw how bad it was and so thats when she decided to curl it like curly sue. I left hoping it would turn out good but had a bad feeling obviously. When I got home I straightened it and saw the damage. She had ruined my hair! It was an orange brassy color (before my hair was long dark brown that had some black box dye on it which she clearly knew about before because I told her.), the coloring was A DISASTER, chunky, orange, just horrible! I had a line of color on the side… bayalage is a blending technique so she clearly didn’t know what she was doing. (There are pictures of my hair and it’s damage in my profile, take a look and try not to cry like I did for a few days).
The next day I called to speak with the salon owner, Mary Ann. It took her 3 days to finally return my call and that’s with me calling her twice and leaving voicemails. When we spoke she did apologize but said she couldn’t do much. I told her that was unacceptable and even though the booths are rented, she should still speak with who represents her salon to make it right. Clearly she didn’t do anything because I even texted the hairstylist, Rachel directly and she NEVER responded! Not only were they both completely unprofessional and rude. But by Rachel ignoring my text just shows that she didn’t have the decency to own up to her mistake, seriously who does that to a new client? Luckily I called Groupon and they felt bad for me so they refunded me my money, I didn’t get back the generous 20 dollar tip I gave her, but instead I had to pay out of MY OWN POCKET 150 dollars to get her mistake fixed and that’s with a 100 dollar discount because the salon I went to to get it fixed felt bad for me!!!
What makes me so upset is that Rachel could have at least answered me and acknowledged that she screwed up my hair but she never did. I went in with long beautiful hair and walked out looking horrible, with an uneven haircut and my hair color a disaster. So with all that being said I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND RACHEL WILSON TO DO YOUR HAIR AT SALON JI! Honestly I would NEVER even recommend this salon… I can’t speak for the other hairstylist, but Rachel and the salon owner, Mary Ann were very unprofessional in this situation caused by false advertisement to a client. So I write this review not to be mean even though I am clearly upset, but to get the word out that Rachel and Mary Ann clearly do NOT care about their clients or the reputation of the salon. I am still extremely hurt that Rachel never responded to my text so because of that this review was written.

The massage therapist Brad was wonderful!!! He listened to what I said and he made me completely relax. I will definitely be back in and pay full price, as I went in with a groupon originally.

The masseuse, Brad is spectacular! He listened carefully to what I wanted to get out of my massage and delivered perfectly. His quiet, gentle demeanor puts you right at ease, and his expert hands will make the tension melt from your shoulders. The salon is very cute, and the massage room is very cozy and peaceful. I will be back for sure!

This salon is all booth rentals. I went to Rachel and she was awesome! Totally love my hair and she did a great job on my lip wax job. I highly recommend her. She’s reasonably priced too. I happy she’s my new stylist! Can’t wait to see her again.

I wish I could give this place a legitimate review but so far, I am pretty disappointed. My stylist recently moved out of KC and I have been looking for a new one. I saw a Groupon for Salon Ji and decided I would give it a try. I bought a Groupon for a cut and style. I called in April to set up an appointment for a haircut before my vacation in May. I reached Rachel’s voice mail and left a message. Her outgoing message says that all calls will be returned in 24 hours. I waited a week and did not get a call back so I called again. This time I reached her immediately. She didn’t apologize for having missed the first message, but OK. She was unable to accomodate my schedule so I told her I would call back and try again when I needed my next haircut. In June, I called again. Same experience — left message and never received a call back. This time, I didn’t bother callling back — I just went to another salon. Fast forward to August 15^th. Called again and left message. No call back. I called again on August 21^st which happened to be the day the Groupon expired. This time Rachel answered the phone. She told me that they had problems with not being able to get their voicemail the previous week. She didn’t mention why I didn’t get calls back in April or in June. This time she was unable to schedule anything and of course the Groupon was expiring but she assured me they would honor the Groupon since I was calling before it expired. She said she would need to have another person set my appointment because she was booked up for quite a while. She was going to check with the other person and call me back that day. Well today is August 23^rd and I am still waiting. I left another message with her today. I am going to count my $ 20 Groupon as a loss because there is no way I am going to go this place with or without a discount. If they can’t even answer a phone and can’t return a phone call, this is not service and they obviously care very little about their clients. Evidently, if you are lucky enough to have someone answer the phone, you may or may not get to set an appointment. If you don’t get an answer, I guess you are out of luck completely. I won’t be going here and I don’t recommend it to anyone else. Maybe you give great haircuts but it’s the whole package that counts ladies.

I had a massage today with Tina and she was fabulous! She used quite a bit of pressure and it was perfect for melting away the tension in my muscles. Nice atmosphere too! Would definitely recommend.

I needed my nails done for the Unilocal Chiller party. Where to go? Groupon to the rescue, Salon Ji it is. I tried calling the first lady on the Groupon and was told she was booked and to call Diane. As I was setting up a time with Diane, the first lady was trying to call me back because she had a cancellation. Wow, these ladies really try to please. I was even more pleased entering and meeting the owner Mary Ann and my nail specialist.
This place can be difficult to find. It is on 87^th and Hauser Ct. behind the Pizza Hut. The place was bigger than I imagined. Apparently the owner was able to do more with this building than the last one she had down the street. It definitely shows. Great art and colors and arrangement of the whole place. I am so very glad I ended up here.
The atmosphere was very relaxed and calming and a fun place to be in. On the day I was there there was another nail specialist, and massage therapist and hair stylist. All seemed to enjoy their jobs. This place is also very much into EOE. Which is a plus to see in Johnson County.
Also looking at the other customers coming and going it seemed as if everyone enjoyed their treatments here. I was among them. Usually, I only get clear polish, specially my toes because they then to repeal polish and start to peal immediately. However, for my costume I had to get red and white. I will say Diane has done a great job because they are still on and I am still getting compliments on my nails everyday. And there was no pain in the plucking, my other fear. Just all around relaxing. Goal achieved!
