I have been getting deep tissue massages for years to help manage the muscle tightness and pain associated with RA and the strain job related heavy lifting causes my back and shoulders. I also am a physical therapist myself, so I know a good massage therapist when I encounter one. Katie is an excellent massage therapist. She asks what your problem areas are and she addresses those areas. She knows her anatomy, and this is of key importance to a therapeutic massage. I’ve had my fair share of scripted massages, start her, next this, then this. We all know them. Not this time. Katie worked on the areas and specific muscles that were bothering me. I feel great, I’m in much less pain. You can bet I’ll be back to the spa and that I will only see her.

Love love love my hair. Danielle is wonderful. Great cut. Color and reasonably priced. Will absolutely return.

Have been a client of Tana’s for about 4 years now. Me and my mom both go to her when we need to update our hair. Never once have I found something to complain about, the salon is always clean and smells good. I am starting beauty school in a little over a month, and to be completely honest, this salon and my wonderful hair stylist is what inspired me to look in to cosmetology, along with my passion for it. Everybody here is friendly and professional. Would recommend this place!

I’m very picky about my long blonde hair, so of course you know well that I do my research before choosing a hair stylist. I had a wedding to go to so I scheduled an updo w/​Carrie. Amazing! Many compliments all night and Carrie listened to what I liked and didn’t like from an Updo. Price = on point!
I decided to give it another try w/​color and cut. Carrie again delivered a phenomenal cut! Layered my long hair so well it is easily styled 4 weeks into the cut.
I needed highlight/​lowlight (Carrie wasn’t available last minute) so I chose Tana. She also delivered! Beautiful color work and reasonable price point which for a professional color job is awesome to see!
I sent my husband for his first «non gr8 clips» cut… he loves his gentleman’s cut! Finally, his hair works :)

As good as it gets is an understatement. This salon deserves 10 stars. I get my hair cut by Tana, and she is such a great listener and highly talented and skilled stylist. I will not go anywhere else. In fact I have lived on both coasts and I fly home to get my hair cut here, or else I just don’t get a hair cut. ‘Nuff said.

You’re better off at Great Clips or the Hair Cuttery. Who ever handed these people scissors should reconsider their decision. Unable to taper your sides, measure length, or shape your hair. Totally regret going.

So I first went to this salon almost three years ago when I moved to Chicago (I work near there). I had Jen the first time and I absolutely loved her; however, since I live in the city, I found a few hair salons that could cut my hair. It wasn’t until someone botched my haircut (I have thick, curly hair) that I went back to Jen. crying and begging for help!
SHE IS A LIFESAVER!!! She knew exactly how to fix my hair cut and really listened to what I wanted. She also doesn’t push products on you like some other hairstylists do, which is great because as a girl with curly hair, I already know what works and what doesn’t.
Definitely would recommend seeing Jen, especially if you have curly hair. Totally worth the time and the price for a haircut ($ 35) is pretty good compared to city prices!

I’ve been getting my blonde highlights done by Carrie at this salon for about 5 years and she has never once gotten it wrong. She also cuts my hair and always knows what to do to make it look much better. I have thin, frizzy, wavy hair that is impossible to work with and I always leave this salon with hair that looks great! Maggie has also colored my hair and she does a great job too. This place is more upscale than a chain but they are all very friendly and not snobby at all (I could go to «MT» if I wanted to, but they are so snobby that I refuse to ever go back for my hair). I’d recommend this salon!

So I needed a haircut…
I moved to the burbs about a month ago and I was getting tired of driving out to the City to get my haircut so I decided to find a place closer to where I live now.
I am not a dude who will go to Hair Cuttery, Super Cuts or any of that shit.
It’s not that I am a raging Metro Sexual or anything like that, (not that there is anything wrong with that) its just because those places are kind of a turn n’ burn operation where the woman there don’t give a shit about how you look when you walk out the door, they want that $ 12 so they can buy a pack of Newports and a freshly dented can of Sketty-Oh’s to eat in the olé’ Ford Focus.
I have driven by this place many times and I decided that I needed a haircut badly so I took a chance. I walked in and they immediately took care me. The girl at the front desk was nice, and told me that they charge about $ 24.00 for a dudes cut. That’s roughly around 2x what you would pay at the chain type places and it was worth every fucking cent. The place was pretty packed and I was surprised that they were able to get me in a seat.
The stylist that cut my hair was Ashley. She took my coat and got to work chopping away the tumble weed turban that my hair had grown into. I had come there directly after work and had a good quarter pound of hair honey (aka pomade) in my hair. Ashley said fuck all that noise and washed that shit out in the sink.

After washing my shit clean she asked how I usually cut my hair; since what she was staring at was pretty much a matted down thick black shag carpet on my skull.
Best part is that she LISTENED to what I said and cut my hair the right way!
Can you believe it! As a married man and father of a 7 year old daughter I am not used to women listening to me. (Worth the $ 24 just for that!)
I think we all have a person that we trust to cut our hair for a reason. It’s all because that one fucking moron years ago that didn’t listen and fucked your shit up so bad you wanted to sweep your hair up and glue back on at home. This happens once in your life at least, so when some cuts your shit up and it looks fresh you stay with them till the end.
Ashley’s hair cutting skills were great and she wasn’t an awkward conversationalist which is way up there in the rating system.
Nothing worse than getting your hair cut and having to fake your way thru bullshit small talk while you are screaming «SHUT THE FUCK UP» over and over in your mind…(weird? NO, it fucking happens man…)
So she proceeds to cut my hair like a motherfucking BOSS
and then she does the unthinkable…
She fucking washed my hair again, — so I would not leave a chopped hair trail behind me everywhere I went like that dirty ass kid that Charlie Brown used to go to school with.
Overall I was pretty happy that a spot like this is close to my house and I would recommend that if you are looking for a great place to cop a quick fade or a nice styled cut you go there. I am not exactly sure if any of the other ladies are good at cutting dudes’ hair since this seems like it would be a woman’s type of place, but I would imagine they are good since the place was filled.
