BTI provides the simplest managed unified communications systems in the telecommunications and data communications industry including Mitel, Shoretel, Cisco, and others. Unified Communications encompasses, phone systems, contact center, mobile device integration or mobility, presence, and instant messaging. We support five technology platforms including Shoretel and Mitel unified communications (ip phone systems, contact center, video, audio, and web conferencing, and business process integration), Cisco, HP, Juniper, and Meraki data routing and switching, wireless networks, data center (management, collocation, and servers and storage), and carrier access from all major telecom and cable companies for Internet access, private networks, and telephone service. Our clients report that they experience increases in revenue per employee through streamlined system management and user interfaces, simplified IT support, and up to a 70% reduction in cost of managing their systems.

History

Established in 1992.

BTI started as a telecommunications equipment and systems supplier and an agent for Illinois Bell providing corporate clients with telecommunications equipment and systems and voice and data services from Illinois Bell. Since inception, the company has focused on three centers of excellence — sales, project management and delivery, and customer support. Today, BTI offices reach across the country and the company has evolved into one that focuses on enabling corporate IT administrators to do more with less. BTI provides managed service support for Unified Communications systems, routing and switching, wireless networks, data center and collocation, and bandwidth providers for corporate networks. Our mission is to supply the simplest managed systems in the industry delivering our clients with savings, efficiency, best of breed solutions from top manufacturers and providers, and more time to focus on their user and customer facing applications that drive revenue and productivity.

Meet the Business Owner

Business Owner

Eric Brackett is the Founder and President of BTI Communications Group. His educational background includes a BA in Economics from Northwestern University, a JD from IIT Chicago-​Kent College of Law. He and Scott Staver are considered thought leaders in the telecommunications, data communications, carrier, and data center space speaking at industry conferences and leading BTI in its mission to provide the best managed unified communications system in the industry.

Scott Staver is BTI’s CEO. Prior to serving as CEO, Scott held the positions of Regional Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at BTI. In his 20 years in the industry, Scott has been the National Director of BTS Sales for Eschelon Telecom (now Integra Telecom.) and a Business Strategist for GreatAmerica Leasing Corporation.

In speaking about BTI, Scott is fond of pointing out that «At BTI, we still do voice systems but voice today is an application on the data network.»
