Luisa Scott assisted us with our taxes and she was very professional and helpful. I would recommend going to her if you want to get your taxes done.

I tried to be a walk-​in customer but they were too busy, that’s okay it is tax season after all. The office had kids running around screaming and the lady behind the desk was rude. I made an appointment anyways thinking maybe it was just a bad day or them. The day of my appointment I get a call from H&R Block saying they need to reschedule because my tax agent called off. I’m a little irritated by this because my life is pretty busy, ignoring my better senses I went ahead and rescheduled. It’s an hour before my second appointment and I get a phone call saying my tax agent can’t help me today so they need to reschedule again. No thank you I’ll take my business elsewhere. Seems like the tax agents would take their job a little more seriously.

I scheduled an appointment for 10:00am. I arrived at the store around 9:45am. Once I entered there were 4 other people sitting in the waiting room. I am usually offered a drink when I arrive but, I was just asked to sit down. When the clock hit 10:15am my Tax Agent decided to approach me and tell me I should come back later; she was to call me around noon when the store slowed down. It’s 8:00pm now and I have yet to receive a call. This will be the last time I go to this location. Don’t ask people to schedule appointments if you take walk-​ins before others.

H&R Block has gone down the tubes. Unless you have a simple tax return, you will not likely receive any value from HR Block services. I went to this Lemon Grove location last year and paid $ 485 for an agent to prepare my taxes and while the person that did my return was pleasant, I did not feel that they were an actual accounting or tax expert. Why should anyone pay $ 485 to someone using software that anyone could use to enter a tax return? My taxes aren’t simple but they aren’t complex (not self-​employed, don’t have any investments, etc). This year we did it online with the HR Block software and while it is cheaper $ 119, it has been a painful process to utilize their 2^nd look service. My 2^nd look was assigned to an agent in Kentucky, and I live in California. I had to call customer service, email the agent, and contact this office several times to try and get my tax return unassigned so I could go into the local office (I don’t have a scanner to send in documents). The receptionist at this branch said the office manager would call me back in the morning and that never happened. I think I’ve got it resolved now, I’m kinda over HR Block. Why should I have to go through so much drama to file taxes. This is my last straw and I will be seeking out an accountant to do my return in the future. It’s just not worth the hassle to deal with HR Block.

One quote comes to mind; «Anyone can just take reservations. Holding them is the important part.» Over 45 minutes late, and she wasn’t even helping anyone, she just didn’t stand up to see if we might be waiting. whatever.
