My LG microwave started acting very strange (cooking when not in use) so I called to get an estimate and ended up spending a considerable time talking to Tom who was a HUGE help in helping me debug causes over the phone in order to figure out possible costs, etc.
Shortly after the call my microwave started behaving normally again… I’m going to keep an eye on it but wanted to leave a review regardless because Tom really went out of his way to try to help me, and I appreciate it!

I want to express my great appreciation to Angelica receptionist, Tom and Chris both technicians. I had problem with my Maytag washer unable to open the door. I called Maytag and tried to help me to troubleshoot the issue, but I’m mechanically inclined. Immediately, they dispatch Chris and fix the problem right away. He didn’t charge me because he wants to build the right relationship with customers to make them the happy and satisfied with their service .
He is trying to fix the previous owners mistakes and previous technician «victor». I’m glad with have a new owner that is reliable and honest. Great Job!

If You look at these reviews you will see a pretty big variance. 1 star 5 stars. I’m intrigued. I read a few reviews and I notice that anything with Chris’s name on it has 5 stars. Who is this Chris guy and why doesn’t he own his own business if he is so amazing. I feel i need this Chris guy to solve my washer dryer combo issue, because evidently, he knows his stuff. So I call and ask to talk to Chris. He’s very young guy, comes out and gives me not only good service but great advice. I know everything about the hair business, but i just want my washer to work and pretty much don’t know a lot about the ins and outs of it. I quickly find out that Chris now owns this business and has since January. so take all those one star reviews and throw them out. Here is the bottom line. If you want a repairman you can trust to be knowledgeable, work hard, for a fair price, this is the company for you. He solved some big problems for me, I trusted his honest and fact based suggestions, and could not be more impressed. As a business owner who offers good service, I recognize the real deal, when I see it. Go with a winner. Browne’s gets not only my vote, but my recommendation. Thanks Chris, I now feel like I have a «friend» in the business.

Yesterday LG finally sent me someone competent! I have had four different people out to try to fix my brand new LG dryer. Chris from Browne’s finally fixed it for me! I am so grateful to him. He even had to crawl under my house. UGH! Anyway, he was on time, courteous, and wouldn’t quit until he found the answer. Great job! Thank you.

So, my protection plan company hired these idiots to do the job. The 1^st visit was done by chris. we explained the issue w our washer (the drum was accumulating water even when not in use). He only vacummed the lint and did a diagnosis and said everything was fine. It wasnt. It was scheduled again due to same issue. Some other guy came out and diassembled my washer, and then he said there were gonna charge me more than $ 100. I called the warranty company they stated everything should be covered. Well my husband told the tech that chris didn’t do anything to it he only vacummed and did a diagnosis even though we told him what was the issue. That gentlemen texted chris and apparently told him. My husband got a rude and threatening phone call from chris. I called the warranty company and told them I do not need their service. So, chris ordered his tech guy to leave the washer machine disassembled, if not hell get fired!!! Can you believe that crap. It was chaos. Now, the washer has water, doesn’t want to open, and it’s giving me an oe message. Bottom line, chris was pressuring my husband to admit he did work on it the first time. But my husband knew it was bull cause we saw him do nothing. He is unprofessional, and who threatens another person? Is your business that bad that you want to rip off people. Never are they allowed to step foot in my home for the safety of my family. He sooo needs to get some management skills, and anger management classes.

I have reviews that sound like venting. Not the case here. I am simply reporting that Browne’s Appliance is (1) less than competent to do repairs and (2) does not guarantee their repair work. My experience with Browne’s was a great disappointment. So my recommendation is that you avoid patronizing Browne’s. Instead, check out 1 – 800 Appliance Repair. I have had excellent results with their work on 4 calls: (1) cook top, (2) refrigerator, (3) oven, (4) washing machine.
My experience with Browne’s: I hired them to repair my dishwasher. Each repair failed after a lengthy wait for parts on 4 consecutive visits. Each visit resulted in addition charges which were quickly approaching the cost of a new replacement dishwasher. I contacted the owner of Browne’s and with considerable discussion she finally agreed to a full refund. Several weeks later a check for half the agreed amount arrived. When I called asking why only half, the owner said I was lucky to get anything back and hung up. I attempted a warrant claim with the manufacturer. They said Browne’s Appliance Service had reported me and refused to process my warranty claim. So Browne’s did not fix our problem and billed us for the failed effort. My experience is that Browne’s does not honor their promises.

I was recently having some problems with my older Kenmore combo washer drier, more specifically the drier wasn’t drying clothes anymore and it sounded like it was going to blow up. After getting tired of running 2 – 3 full dry cycles and still being left with damp clothes I called a local appliance repair company. The technician came out started poking and proding my machine and in about 15 minutes declared it was «shot». He said the electric heating unit needed replacement and it would cost about $ 500 to fix. He suggusted it wasnt worth repairing an older unit like I had, and I should just buy a new one.
It was very upsetting because I am not able to afford a new unit so after some research on Unilocal I came across Brownes and figured I had little to lose on a second opinion. The lady at the office was very nice over the phone and technician chris arrived at my house the next morning. Chris was extremely professional and extremely knowledgeable, explaining every step of the process. After only a few minutes he explained to me that the heating elements rarely fail and mine was in perfect working order, my main problem was a badly clogged drier vent. He was able to clear years of clogged lint from my machine and fixed the vent hose leading to the exterior which was causing the backup. It turns out the excess noise from my machine was caused from simply a loose belt and he fixed that quickly as well.
Overall chris was outstanding, fast and extremely honest. He didn’t push parts I didn’t need (like the other company’s tech) and his diagnosis was spot on. What turned out to be a relatively easy and inexpensive fix saved me from having to buy a whole new unit. In actuality could have saved my house from a fire being that my clog was so bad it could have easily ignited eventually. very scary to think! To top it all off, Chris even noticed my LG refrigerator door was misaligned which was causing it to not fully close sometimes, he fixed it in 5 minutes and for FREE!
Oh and I’m also saving electricity since my clothes dry so fast now! This is an awesome local company and I’d reccomend them to anyone!

I owe this good review to the good folks @ Browne’s as I have had excellent success for many years with them under warranty and now out of warranty.
They have earned my business and deserve their stellar reputation despite a few bad reviews I noticed here on Unilocal.Though I am in an unrelated business I have learned you can’t please everyone no matter what you do.
I slammed another appliance company on Unilocal a few years ago who blatantly lied
and tried to cheat me with the most evil ownership I have ever encountered.
Having owned a multitude of properties for decades on both coasts with numerous appliances I typically more often than not know when someone is being fair or not.
Lets face it being an appliance repair company must be rough
Like a automobile repair shop most consumers have good reasons not to trust
Under warranty it isn’t easy finding qualified experts for each given brand and model
Especially in an industry where quality is all over the map and repairs are getting more and more complicated with all the electronics, bells and whistles manufactures pack on the average appliance today. No wonder there has to be interaction with the manufacturer service line and service manual on a occasion which another misinformed poster criticized them for.
Browne’s is about is as good as it gets IMO for some of the following reasons
They are honest and work with the customer charging market price and no more than reasonably necessary to do the job.
in my recent out of warranty visit with my LG washer they nailed it first time out and even explained how I caused the problem so I can avoid the issue in the future.
Previously I used them for service for my high end Electrolux stove, refrigerator and my dishwasher while under warranty for free.
Each and every time they came through 100% just as if I paid them out of pocket.
Sometimes it required a second or 3^rd visit but they always did everything above and beyond until all problems were solved 100% to my satisfaction. When it was the manufacture’s product defect they diligently worked to get it exchanged/​replaced in one instance
Browne’s from my understanding is a small family owned business and so much better than the giant clueless 1800 appliance type companies who frequently have poorly trained associates/​service folks. On my most recent service visit Browne’s at my house within 24 hours from product failure to recovery. That in itself a small miracle.
Chris came out identified the issue and singlehandedly like superman juggled two stacked heavy LG appliances got to the difficult to access clogged filter causing a lack of drainage and had my DOA washer working like new again in one single visit .
Most appliance service folks would have demanded more money to move the two appliance’s. Chris is an ex New Yorker and he isn’t afraid of getting his hands dirty not taking on the job of two service folks physically wow.
My advice to others it isn’t always easy to get through to Browne’s as they are slow sometimes in answering phones and returning calls due to having a very small staff of family and friends
But your patience will pay off typically as you are dealing with a company that more often than not cares about satisfying customers and building lifetime relationships one visit at a time
I salute the good folks at Browne’s and hope they will be around for a long time to come
I personally avoid service contracts and would rather pay an honest service company who generally knows what they are doing then get stuck with horrible service folks, wasted time and pricey contracts that up charge and nickel and dime under contract and send the next warm body rather than experienced trained service folks.
Take a bow Browne’s old fashioned customer service at fair market pricing. Well done!
Proceed without fear folks. If your appliance is old and had it buy a new one
If it’s a service issue and the appliance is still worth investing in Browne’s is the one!

THE WORST COMPANY EVER !!!
My warranty company referred us to them, took 1 week to schedule an apt, and 1 week later, today, after back and forth of drama, missing documents, nobody knowing what is going on with the status of our washer being repaired.
I finally talked to the owner of the company last night and she told me she couldn’t find our information, she was going to research the status and call me back, no call back (they never ever return your calls) so I followed up with them today, and the receptionist who was one RUDE individual told me that the owner left out of town this morning, because she had personal issues she is dealing with. NOT my problem.
It has been 2 weeks and my washer I still broken down. I told her that the warranty company hasn’t received any information from them, after they have told us numerous times that they have sent them all the information. She yelled at me and told me she was going to cancel my order and to call the warranty company deal with them. The warranty company never received any of the information from Browns appliance.
2 WEEKS OF DRAMA, I’m not sure what kind of company they are running, but they just gave us two weeks of unnecessary drama.
DO NOT USE EVER, unless you want to risk waiting 2 weeks for nothing.
BROWNS appliance company DO NOT DELETE this post, please SD really needs to know what kind of business they are dealing with when they reach out to your for help.

Browns Maytag appliance center was amazing. Chris showed up it took him less than 5 minutes to determine the cause of the problem. He came out after working hours around 6pm ordered the part next morning, went to get the part and at 5pm the next day it was all back to normal. Amazing service. Chris cleans up everything, is very efficient and friendly too. I would definitely call him again and won’t hesitate recommending him. Apparently he fixes A/​C and just about every appliance.

LG referred me to these guys for service. The guy came out, stood in front of my fridge with the doors open for five minutes, enjoying the cool air. Did absolutely, nothing else. Then said, «seems to be ok.» The problem is a faulty actuator on the defrost cycle, but this guy didnt want to do the repair. So he left.
After my dismal experience with this company, I called LG and they scheduled factory service, which is what I should have instead of waste my time with this good-​for-​nothing company. When the LG Factory rep came out, the rep had anticipated the part based on my description of the problem. He placed the unit in diag mode, exercised the damper, confirmed it was indeed bad, from inside the unit he installed the part and fixed the problem.
Dont waste your time, this company has reps that are not properly trained and do not understand how to repair modern, computerized appliances.

Woke up on Wednesday morning to find my 3 year old LG refrigerator was not cooling and I had a puddle of melted ice on my floor. Tried another service company that «repairs all brands» except they did not. Called LG for service and after some interesting troubleshooting, I was referred to Browne’s. By now it was after noon.
I called Browne’s to see if someone could possible come today (beating myself up for not calling LG first). Was told «Sorry we are all booked until tomorrow» Darn!
Then, a couple of hours later, a call from Debbie at Browne’s «Is it OK if our guy comes after 5pm?» Heck YEAH it’s OK! I get a call from Chris the technician with an ETA and wait for him to make his way through traffic.
Finally, at 6ish, Chris arrives and spends a good 30 mins trying different things. Bad news, the CPU is bad. Chris promises to do his best to get the part tomorrow but could be as late as Monday, depending on supply.
*We transfer 30 sq ft of fridge contents into coolers and wait*
Check up the next morning and Chris did find the part, it is on it’s way and he will be by that afternoon to install it. Whoa! Sure enough, Chris calls with an ETA and arrives with part. Installation and explanation complete, he’s out before 5pm on Thursday. Check next morning and fridge is at temp! WAHOO!
This is not the first time I’ve had to call for fridge service, but this is DEFINATLY the first time someone actually came out the SAME DAY. If we had to wait, there is little chance the part could have arrived in time to fix the fridge before the weekend.
Previous experience with calling for service on a fridge (not from this company) is more than a week wait! It’s one thing to go without a washer or dryer for a few days, but a fridge… well, that’s kind of like going without water or the internet! :-)
So, I’m super happy with Chris and Browne’s!
Now, where can I post a one star review of LG?

I had 2 visits with Browne’s. Service agent was on time and he was very nice. However, I can’t say he was knowledgeable. I know nothing about refrigerators and had to constantly suggest/​ask him for areas to check, then he does. He didn’t seem to care about the problem. Maybe other agents are better but I will not go back nor do I recommend Browne’s to friends and family.

They’ve repaired my LG stove & dryer. Both times they were prompt and courteous. The problems were quickly diagnosed and repaired. I would not hesitate to recommend them.

First time I used them today, chris came out to work on dryer. I have all high end equipment, sub zero, Viking etc. not only did he take apart dryer fix and put back
Together with amazing efficiency, he knew every piece of appliance in the kitchen
And told me the strengths and weaknesses of all of them. Most knowledgable guys
I have ever met. Would recommend 100%

LG referred me to them to fix my broken washer/​dryer. It took them 3 trips to finally get it fixed (which is why the –1 star); but in the end it works, they made it happen, and for a reasonable price.

Moved into this apartment a month ago and the first time I ran the dishwasher, it flooded the kitchen. Called Browne’s to get it fixed, and they sent somebody out right away. It turned out to be a nightmare of a problem, first the motor/​pump then it was discovered a valve needed to be replaced. Nate, the poor guy, was dealing with an appliance from the early 1980’s, and ran to various stores trying to find a proper valve. He had to come over a few separate times, because he kept running into new problems each time in part to the poor upkeep of the building’s plumbing, but each time called the night before to set up a time and then again before he would actually come over, and was always punctual.
Nate was the nicest and most patient person ever, especially when dealing with our hard-​headed landlord. Despite multiple obstacles he had the problem fixed and now my dishwasher runs like new!

I had a 3 yeaar old Frigidaire front load washer that needed repaired. Frigidaire recommended Browns. I called them and Nat, there tech was to come out between 8:00am-noon, didn’t show up then 1:00pm-3:00pm still didn’t show up finnaly at 4:00p.m. He looked at it and called Frigidaire help line. And finnaly decided that it was the control board and motor costing $ 259.00. I decided i just didn’t want to put that much money into a 3 year old washer.
So i went and bought a new LG for $ 650.00 And a friends father who tinkers wanted the old one for the motor. He took it home and got to looking at it and relized it had an error code of E47 and inside the washer is a booklet with the codes which said it was a door switch costing $ 65.00. He changed that. And mind you he is not a washer repair man. Just a retired old man. The washer works perfect. But unfortunatly it does not do me any good since i had all ready bought a new washer. So he gave it to his daughter.
I called Browwns appliance and they did refund my $ 69.00 service call fee. Which was nice of them but i am still upset that i spent so much money on a new washer that if there tech knew what he was doing could of been fixed for under a hundered dollars.

Had a unique dryer problem and needed help!
Called GEEKSQUAD-​snaps for them referring Browne’s! After I explained I had a Costco card stuck in the dryer, down in the skinny lint trap they had someone out to my house the next day.
The young man was on time and fixed the problem in a timely manor of about 15 min and was out the door. The cost of human error wasn’t too bad on my wallet.

I had problems with my washer/​dryer and was still under the warranty. I called the manufacturer and they had set me up with two other appliance repair companies before they set me up with Browne’s. Robert, the technician from Browne’s is so knowledgeable. The previous two repair companies were like a bunch of crooks because they understood that it was being paid for by the manufacturer and not by me. They absolutely had no knowledge, I don’t even know how or where they got their qualifications to be an appliance repair technician. This is not the case for Browne’s.
Browne’ is a very ethical company. They always answer their calls and have such friendly customer service. Robert, their technician is a true expert– he really understands the function and repair capabilities of the appliances. I am very pleased with their service.
I highly recommend anyone who has an issue with their appliance, whether it’s still under warranty or not to give Browne’s a try. They really know their stuff and will give you honest answers. Other appliance repair companies do not know Jack Swat– their technicians were probably on crack or past felons or ex-​gangs. Robert, from Browne’s is actually a normal, decent human being– someone I trust in my home.
