Established in 1996.

.Chef Lisa had a dream of owning a bed and breakfast after attending the Art Institute of Dallas where she received her culinary degree. She worked on her culinary skills while working for a gourmet Catering company in Dallas Texas for 15 years. Gregg, Lisa’s husband owned his own construction company in Dallas for 17 years. After a year of searching the country for the perfect Bed and Breakfast Lisa came across the Plantation Bed & Breakfast here in Lemon Cove California. They took over ownership of the 17 year old business in May of 2014. The rest is history, guests from 107 countries have enjoyed Chef Lisa’s gourmet breakfast and Gregg’s fresh squeezed orange juice daily.

When Lisa was a child, she liked to cook with her mom. Lisa’s mom thought that cooking was an important skill to learn. Lisa grew up on a small farm in Missouri where she learned the basic cooking skills from her mom. Lisa was very involved in 4-​H as a child where her mother was the cooking instructor. Lisa entered several cooking exhibits in the county fair and state fair and won several blue ribbons After attending the Art institute of Dallas for a culinary degree Lisa worked for a Gourmet catering company for 15 years where she fine tuned her cooking skills. It was time to get her husband, Gregg, enthused, to find their paradise. It took a year of searching and year of paper work to get their paradise in the rough. We’ve been going mach speed ever since. In spite of the usual trials of an old house and a new business, we’ve never looked back. We hope to never have real jobs again. We love the awesome parks. We love the climate here its beautiful year around.

This was my second visit to the plantation, and I got to say, it just keeps getting better. I noticed a few changes since the last time; new carpet, new paint, new hot tub! :) not sure if there is anything I left out. I stayed in Melanie’s room this time. A bit smaller than the last room I had, but definitely adequate. Melanie was light bright and clean. No complaints here. I am a stickler for dust and bugs, but I haven’t seen either at this place. The breakfast and the views are to die for. Lisa and Gregg are great hosts.

If you have any health issues or don’t react well to pesticides, please read on. We were looking forward to the charm of a B&B, having stayed in many. We overlooked the tacky décor (as opposed to cool and kitschy), but were disappointed with the lack of warmth, both in the house as well as the hosts. Now I see two different names of owners here, and saw a for sale listing when I searched online, so these may be new owners now. The past one was the worst B&B hostess I’ve ever encountered. But even if the owners have changed, you should check to see if the following is a problem.
Hoping to sleep in and relax, we instead woke to some very loud noises right outside our window. It seemed that men were working in the garden/​trees. We asked the owner and she admitted that whoever was in charge of those trees were spraying PESTICIDES! Right outside our window, vast quantities of the stuff, sprayed into the air. My spouse has respiratory health issues, so this was a particular nightmare for us. You may want to ask what the spraying schedule is to avoid it.

I stayed at this bed-​and-​breakfast for my 26th birthday with my boyfriend. We absolutely loved it. Lisa greeted us and immediately gave us a tour of the property. It doesn’t look like a whole lot from the outside, but once you are inside and see the unique and homey Décor, relaxing pool with complementary beach towels, and awesome outdoor hot tub, you soon realize this place is a gem. There is almost an acre of grass in the backyard with relaxing lounge chairs and a bbq.
This is a very peaceful environment in nature. We originally came with the intent to make the hour drive up to see the caves and sequoia trees, but we ended up liking the property so much that we just stayed there and relaxed the whole two days. We think it’s funny that we didn’t fulfill our tourism plans, but that just gives us another excuse to come back.
Don’t even get me started on the breakfast. It was to die for. The first morning we had chili relano, the second morning was a quiche like creation. The breakfast was so darn good, I wish I had a larger stomach so I could’ve eaten more. Homemade cinnamon buns, crème brûlée oatmeal. It was better than any restaurant I’d ever been to.
Our bed was big and comfortable, and the clawfoot bathtub was very relaxing.
At night me and my boyfriend would just sit in the hot tub underneath the stars in a very romantic setting. For in-​room entertainment, DVDs would have been better than VHS, but they have a large selection that we were grateful for.
This bed-​and-​breakfast accepts ITEX, which was our initial reason for choosing to come here. We only had to pay the tax in cash. We found it very convenient that a few other restaurants in the area also accepted ITEX.
It is located in a very small town with not much around, but the seclusion and peace away from the big city is quite nice. I can’t wait to go back for another relaxing getaway.

I wish i can stay here longer after 3 nights of stay. The rooms were great, no bug problem at all. Breakfast was AWESOME. Even my dad who is visiting from korea liked it. Pool and jacuzzi are nice amenity that will entertain your stay. Very large calm backyard with huge palm trees that can give you nice shade so that you can relax in it. Definitely coming back when i am coming this way!!!

Take your stay as visiting your favorite aunt… You are meet with love, accommodated with any wish, fed with delicious food and slept in a very comfortable bed. Some things might be not top notch (as Tv or technology as the other post complained about, although we used the internet and it was fine) We staid there in the middle of July and there was no problem with cockroaches or any other bugs. So no worries there. The breakfast was amazing!!! First of all — it is all home made from scratch! The post that was not happy with the breakfast — I wander do they make breakfast themselves from scratch or just eat bread bough from the supermarket and toasted? All breakfast was served with silver silverware and porcelain dishes and goblets for granola with yogurt. I have not seen a house that actually uses all that these days! This place has charm and if some things don’t look new to some people — they can go to Hilton. We were looking for home feel, and we got it. I The hospitality is endless, food delicious and it was clean with lots of details in the house to accommodate the guests. Definitely recommend it, we will be back!

Even though the owners were friendly, I will not want to come back for another stay. The B&B was located in a very small town and could be hard to locate it once it got dark. Supermarkets, fast food restaurants, and restaurants were far from this place also. The bathroom in our room was crooked, so it felt weird to use the toilet. The breakfast was only so-​so. Not worth the price they charged.

I am hating to have to write this, as I truly really wanted to love this place. The staff was very kind. The breakfast was great. Place is a little outdated on technology/​look (VHS tapes, old tv, old shower), but I guess it fits better with the theme of «Gone With the Wind» if it looks outdated. In the end there was one major turnoff that made me rate our stay so low.
BUGS. They have a cockroach problem. I took several pictures. And a horrifying experience of how we found out. I woke up in the middle of the night with something crawling on my face. I freaked out and swatted it. Spent a good few minutes after turning the lights on to find out where it went… and found a cockroach on the floor. Killed it. Looked underneath the bed and saw another dead cockroach. We dreaded going to sleep that night.
We woke up, got ready and quickly came out to eat breakfast before checking out. On the way out of the room we did a quick perusal to see if we noticed any outside and we literally saw a dead one sitting in the hallway. I was shocked. I didn’t say anything at check out, as other guests were nearby and I didn’t really want to ruin anyone’s stay.
If management reads this, they need to really focus on the bug problem. Definitely not something you want your guests to have to experience or see. And no, it is not normal to have cockroaches. Something is wrong if you have them and you aren’t being cleanly.

Love it here. Wish we could have stayed for more than one night. Enjoyed a glass of wine on the outdoor patio overlooking the pool. The place is super cute and charming, European style. Loved the community breakfast and the food was amazing. Amazing breakfast.
Lots to do here like a little resort with a home feel.
Thought the inn keepers were Lisa and Greg, however so not sure if there was a change of owners but they were great.

Spent a lovely night here for our 5th anniversary. We are from Fresno and I am 9 months pregnant with a toddler at home so we were just looking to get away for a night alone without going too far. The owners were perfectly unobtrusive, we’ve stayed at several B&B’s before and sometimes they can be a little too in your face. They were easily reachable if needed (we didn’t) and it was an open breakfast hour for you to come and go as you pleased. (we’ve literally had owners knock on our door before to wake us up to come down to breakfast and then proceed to wait for us in the dining room with the other guests before serving… that was the morning after our wedding!) Yes not all rooms have a TV if that’s important to you. There is wi-​fi though – maybe a recent upgrade considering the older reviews – so if you can’t stand to be totally media free just bring your ipad.
The breakfast really was delicious, a buffet of granola, fresh fruit and a baked berry bread with a hot egg entrée served. Also fresh squeezed OJ which I can’t get enough of at this stage of pregnancy.
The grounds were beautiful and as it was a 100 degree day in the Valley so an evening dip in the pool after arrival was refreshing. Didn’t use the hot tub but it’s nice to know both the pool and hot tub were available 24 hours, especially if you’re getting back late from a day hike and want to relax a bit.
I should note that we saw and heard very few other guests as we walked around the house and the grounds in the evening and were pretty surprised to see so many faces at breakfast. While the house may seem intimate on arrival, they must have laid out the rooms perfectly for privacy. A little pantry upstairs with a fridge to store your snacks and drinks available. And a nice little outdoor patio from our suite (Scarlett O’Hara) to enjoy the takeout we brought for dinner. All in all exactly what we were looking for.

Scott and Marie are great and gracious hosts, and the grounds are spacious and well-​planted. There is a pool and hot tub, and because of the small number of rooms (7), there aren’t many other people out there, most are at one of the nearby National Parks. It was great for my wife and I to get a few nights away from the kids and to relax. Thanks!

My wife & I had a three night stay at the Plantation Bed & Breakfast as we visited Sequoia, Kings Canyon and Hume Lake. I enjoyed the wonderful setting — beautiful backyard with pool & spa — plus sitting on the balcony watching the sun set over the citrus orchards. Not much to do in Lemon Cove, however, we found the Orange Blossom Junction, and ended up eating there all three nights. Wonderful place with live music. Of course, the Plantation B&B is known for their wonderful morning breakfast.. .. .. WOW! What a great time!

had a great visit and much needed relaxation. Tip: spend time doing NOTHING, unless you must read, by the pool, sit in a comfy Adirondack chair in the shade of the palms, soak in the small, but HOT jacuzzi. wear your slippers to breakfast. Marie’s breakfast is delicious, fresh and healthy. Our room was clean, bright and had a very comfy bed. The staff was sweet, and helpful. many thanks to Scott for taking care of my other family members as well.

Literally, this place is between two turns coming into Lemon Cove. So, if you blink or look down at your map, you might actually miss it. However, if you are paying attention, this place stands out. It has beautifully maintained grounds and the house lives up to its name, looking like a «plantation house» amongst the surrounding orchards and crops in the area. Inside the house is decorated with many things having to do with «Gone with the Wind». All except one guestroom is upstairs. We had the only room up stairs that didn’t not have an ensuite bathroom, though we had a private bathroom across the hallway. It was okay, but it was weird not knowing who you were going to run into in the hallway late at night or in the early morning while running to the bathroom. The room itself was nice. It made me nostalgic for when I was a kid visiting my grandparents farm, some of the same décor too. At night, we were able to open the window to get a cool breeze coming into the room with the ceiling fan, again, reminiscent of the old farmhouse. We slept very well. The room was VERY clean but on the small side. The only real complaint was that we could hear every time someone entered or exited their rooms next to ours. Fortunately, the neighbors were relatively quiet while coming or going, as far as talking was concerned. The breakfast was VERY GOOD. The hostess prides herself on her culinary skills and she did not disappoint. The food was quality and plentiful too. We were able to choose to eat inside the dining area or out on the patio. I think eating outside made the food taste even better, plus we could watch the hummingbirds as well. There is a pool and hot tub, though we didn’t use either for our short stay. One draw back about the location is that options for dinner at night are rather limited. We had to drive at least 6 – 8 miles to get to a couple restaurants. Otherwise, this is great place to stay for a weekend getaway to see the Sequoias.

We stayed at the Plantation last weekend during our trip to Sequoia National Park (about a 20 minute drive away). When we arrived, Marie (one of the owners) greeted us warmly and showed us around. Our room was about what we expected according to what we saw on the website. Everything was clean and well kept. Our room had a view of the rear garden and foothills and was charmingly decorated (as all the rooms are) in «Gone with the Winds» theme.
The best part of our stay came the next morning when we were served our first gourmet breakfast. Everything was homemade, from the orange juice to the world-​famous granola to the potato fritatta. The next two mornings we had croissant french toast with strawberry purée; and asparagus & mushroom crepes. It’s rare to find original breakfasts anymore and here we had it three days in a row! (Marie also sells her own cookbook, Plantation Breakfast.) Well, after a hearty breakfast, we had a lot of energy for our hikes in Sequoia.
Some tips: make sure you check their website for pictures and prices for the different rooms. They differ a lot. Also, if you are not a local, pick Scott & Marie’s brains for restaurants and places to get supplied in the area; it’s a small town so you don’t want to be driving around all over the place only to eat crappy food, especially when they’ve already eaten everywhere. Oh, and don’t take walks when you see dogs out, they are mean there.
Bottom line: not the cheapest place near Sequoia National Park, but if you love good breakfast and old-​fashioned Southern hospitality, this is the place for you!

If you’re out exploring Sequoia National Park, this Gone with the Wind themed B&B is the perfect place to recharge. Who needs to rough it when you’ve got Southern hospitality at your disposal?
Scott and Marie are the owners, and they run a cozy, friendly, and adorable establishment. It’s a short drive from the main park entrance and convenient to the Kings Canyon side as well. There are a few good restaurants around for dinner, and the breakfast onsite is delicious and plentiful.
The building looks just like a Southern plantation house and has rooms themed after the characters. We stayed in the Ashley Wilkes room, a (relatively) masculine room with a library-​themed bathroom. Right next door is the Belle Watling room — I didn’t see inside, but I hear it’s a little more risqué in the décor department, at least by Civil War standards. There’s also a great hot tub for post-​hiking relaxation.
Definitely worth a visit if you’re planning to be in the area. Or if you’re looking for a quick weekend getaway, it’s pretty central to the rest of California.
