P.J. Whelihan’s Pub & Restaurant

Very mixed feelings at our first visit tonight. Seated right away as it wasn’t overly crowded at all, waitress there within normal time and then ugh. Fried pickles came out in a decent time & cleared away when done, but, salads, however, were served to the tables aside of us first and they had been seated quite a bit after us. Then that same table and another one both received their food before us and they were larger parties. Again both these parties were seated just about when we received our appetizer. Our waitress stood and talked to the table behind us for a good 10 mins and just breezed by us getting that same table refills and such. At this point we explained to another waitress we’d like them to check on our food and why. They brought it immediately with no explanation, a brief «I’m sorry about that» and that was it. Our waitress came back to get us a to-​go box and our check. Never checked to see if our food was OK or not. That said, we had chicken Parmesan with pasta and a black diamond steak with a baked potato. The food was VERY good and the portion size was perfect. The lack of service or explanation of our food taking so long, no matter how nice & pleasant the waitress was when she was at our table, was enough to really prevent us from enjoying it like we should have though. Whether it was her fault or the kitchens we will never know.

I’m gonna give them 4 stars because of the service because to be honest I wasn’t into the nachos too many tortilla chips it’s like a bag of chips and WHERE is the rest? :(the guacamole was the size of my nail, and everything was just on top, nothing at the bottom, I’m from Mexico, im used to GREAT NACHOS and I’ve tried nachos in USA but not here :/​I’ll have to order something else next time.

Classic pub food; smothered and greasy; lots of food choices though. Beer selection seemed limited.

Well, made the mistake of eating here last summer as its close to our summer place.
They served a fillet mignon with gravy on it (I kid you not) to attempt to hide that the meat was bad.
Would have just thought it was the steak until burger had similar smell and rancid taste.
Ate nothing and was sick to my stomach while others at our table glumly finished what was edible as quickly as possible.
We will not be back and we make it a point to tell everyone @ The Woods campground nearby about this awful experience.

5 star food. Been here numerous times, nice atmosphere. A little quieter than the other PJ locations. Same quality wings and the rest of their menu as their other spots.
Only reason I took off 2 stars is for the price of their bottled beer. My wife and I each got a Coney Island Hard Root Beer and they’re on our bill at $ 6 each! That’s equals a $ 144 case! I just picked up a case of 24 bottles at the distributor down the road for $ 27.99
Whoever is in charge of their price of beer is out of their mind. I will never order beer again while I’m at any PJ’s.

Man, I wish I could comment on the food but instead my husband and I sat there for 25 minutes waiting for anyone to come take our order. A bunch of servers looked at us, one even cleaned the table next to us, but no one wanted to take our order I guess :-(I’m still really hungry but I think I’ll go spend my money elsewhere. I’m bummed because the buffalo chicken wrap sounded good. Oh well. See ya never PJ Suckihans.

I always stop it to pick up food my my mom and I on my way up to see her! We love the food. She usually gets the Turkey club, which is is always very happy with. I have been getting the salad with grilled tuna on top. They always cook it all the way through, as per my request, and it is delicious! We also loveeee the onion rings with «horsey sauce». I have seen it get very, very crowded during the week between 4 – 6, so maybe call ahead for those times.
They have a nice outdoor seating area, an inside dining area, as well as a bar so there is a place for everyone!

This place rocks it was so good i had the best chicken parmesan and a slald for 9.99 my husband got this great burger and fries it was cooked well and pack with flavor staff were super nice and helpful and they had the best citrus vinaigrette dressing. …mmmmm ill be back when we come throw..

Fooled me twice, shame on me. The food here is terrible. Just terrible. I like the outdoor area, and that’s why we went back. And we were hopeful that the food might not be as bad as we remembered. Sigh. It was.
I truly do not know why some restaurants even bother.
I was really stupid and ordered the Nicoise Salad. Ya, I know, a sports bar with a Nicoise. «Fingerling potatoes» or, just 4 cubes of a baked potato thrown in there. To their credit the ahi didn’t make me ill or anything. It was just bland as hell and was probably right out of a package, pre seared or something. It just all lacked everything.
My husband ordered a burger (can’t go wrong, right?) Ya. No seasoning, came out within minutes of ordering, so it had to just be sitting back there. Wings, ordered well done– again, came out rapid fast and we’re not well done. Wings. At a sports bar. How can you fuck that up? He wanted them crispy, nope.
The server was nice and sweet and fine. But just go and order drinks. That’s all this place must be good for. We were both mad when the bill came because the whole thing was so underwhelming and bad.

This is our favorite place when we come to go camping. The atmosphere is friendly, a hometown feel. Food is awesome and affordable. Wish they had this place in Maryland. We would be coming weekly. Nancy our server, Rocks!

Comfy, usual PJs. Had dinner with 7 adults and 3 little ones. Food is good enough. 3 stars for being unremarkable.

I am the biggest pj’s fan out there. This location is lacking. How can a PJ Whelihans not have a single craft beer. Not even a bottle let alone on tap. Sad.
The food was ok, but we came here for the wings which were soggy and all two bone (which I do not like) and the celery was brown. I will not come back to this location. Shame.

No complaints! Caught their Monday burger special $ 6.50 for just about any burger on the menu. We were impressed with the burgers, they were cooked well, and very tasty. We also loved our fries with Old Bay!

Ordered take-​out from this place today. The food was above average for a burger joint /​bar. Both the bison burger and fries were very good. When I went in to pick up the food the interior looked charming.
Unfortunately in the 90 seconds that I spent on the phone politely placing my order, the woman managed to come across as being quite rude. It isn’t hard to be polite on the phone while taking a simple order. Won’t be going back.

For this area, this place is really good casual, homey, and very affordable. 4 of us were seated quickly we had reservations for friday night at 530. I had the California burger with a few personal tweaks. They got it right and our server Tammy was very friendly and honest when we asked about suggestions off the menu. She always checked on our meals making sure we were good. My wife had the salmon and loved it. My mom had the prime rib and it was average. Ask the wait staff what they recommend! Tammy was very patient with my mom who couldn’t make up her mind on what to drink let alone eat lol!

Fantastic wings! I had my doubts about this place but we sat on the back patio and it was an awesome place and our waitress was very kind and helpful.
Only compliant is the inside bar downstairs stinks like a urinal. I hope they can fix that.

Great food not one complaint from me. Except wish I could have sat outside but can’t help that with a group of 14.

Great food BUT — Terrible because of the manager Scott! He should be fired immediately. After ordering three shots for my friends it tasted watered down. Asked for the manager and Scott came out and said there were no other bottles to compare. Then after saying there is another bar down stairs he miraculously came up with a bottle. When we laughed because the colors were far off he said to not come back again. As a manager I want them to fix a problem, not say don’t come back because they made a mistake. The servers told us the manager Scott is terrible and they were right. It’s unfortunate he ruined such a great spot for us.

Our server Erin was fantastic. Nachos and wings were good. The food came fairly quickly but as others have mentioned, the steaks that were ordered, NY Strip, were a lil overcooked, hence tough, and definitely NOT seasoned AT ALL, which was very disappointing. But overall good experience so we will be back! To the chef. Salt is your friend!

Perfect… just what the Dr. Ordered.
Was traveling for work and just wanted something to eat and a beer or two. Read the reviews here and made a beeline to Platz’s, took a seat at the bar, had a burger, a few beers and chatted with some nice folks. Nice people, good food and friendly service.
