History

Established in 1960.

Dr. H.P. Thomas OD began providing eye care to the residents of Leesville and the surrounding communities in 1960. In 1984, his daughter & son-​in law, Drs. Cherri T. & Mark Cowan OD joined the practice. The doors to our new location opened in 2008.

Business Owner

Dr. Mark Cowan began practice in Leesville at Thomas Vision Clinic in 1984 with his father-​in-​law, Dr. H.P. Thomas and his wife, Dr. Cherri Thomas Cowan, upon graduating from the University of Houston College of Optometry. He specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases (glaucoma, cataracts, diabetic retinopathy, macula degeneration) and hard-​to-​fit contact lenses. He is a native of Kentucky, but loves his adopted state of LA. He is the father of two children, and enjoys duck hunting and saltwater fishing.

Upon graduation from University of Houston College of Optometry in 1984, Dr. Cherri Cowan returned to her hometown of Leesville to practice with her father, Dr. H.P. Thomas and her husband, Dr. Mark Cowan. She specializes in pediatric optometry, but sees patients of all ages. She is the mother of two children, and enjoys reading, traveling, and cooking.
