Everytime I eat here, I feel like I’m being fed bland senior citizen food. Not worth the $$.

It was our first time in leesport and we had seen Hoss’s in other locations in pa. When we walked in they had the menu at the hostess stand where you are asked to order before you are seated. Menu was large with reasonable prices but there is an up charge for everything. I ordered the hanger steak with a baked potato which came with their ayce salad bar. My wife had the chicken and broccoli. The salad bar had mostly sides from a jar, can or box. Not fresh. The soup was homemade, but just okay. My steak was basically an undercooked, old hamburger patty that tasted a little gamey. I took 2 bites and couldn’t have another bite-it was disgusting. Waitress noticed that i did not eat it and took it back to the kitchen where they offered to cook it further or give me another one, but i was so grossed out by then that i declined and just wanted to leave. I would have expected them just to remove it from my bill but they did not. My wife’s broccoli was fresh and cooked well. Her chicken was pretty blah. The place overall looks and feels like an old country buffet. Pretty lousy food and experience overall. I will not be going back.

Friends and I were vacationing in Gettysburg, PA when our innkeepers suggested Hoss’s…it was love at first bite! I swear you had to roll us out the door we ate so much. The menu is large and very affordable, or, you can opt for the salad bar which is very extensive and delicious, soup, salad, bread, dessert and a drink, all for one price… a great bargain. Since I discovered it I have frequented the Hoss’s located in Leesport, PA since it’s down the road from the Leesport Flea Market, so when we go to the flea market on a Wednesday or a special Sunday(like father’s day or mother’s day) mom and dad get a treat, they love it, the service is excellent, the food great, when ordering one of the entrees we get it pretty prompt and the restaurant is always nice and clean. I just wish it were closer to Northern NJ! What’s up with all that! But it’s all good, nothing like great food at great prices!
